Ex-pats; do you miss "home"?

We emigrated to Oz from the UK 8yrs ago. Yes, I know that Oz is now officially "home", and usually it feels that way. But there are times, eg events in my home town that i miss out on, that brings it home to me how much I've left...

itssteve in some ways yeah, the main things i miss here in oz is decent beer, yes you heard it here english beer is far better than australian. i also miss pork pies from our local butcher and unsmoked bacon. as for families and stuff well........................

itssteve i don't know what traditions you follow but, i can only hope that my boys will pick somebody they love and are loved in return, as a parent i do not think we should expect our future in-laws to be anything that WE want! personally i took offence at my parents...
