Why are people obsessed with "street fights" in this category? Granted, one reason for studying martial arts is self defense. But how many street fights have you ever been in? I haven't been in a fight since I was a kid, over 20...

I train because I feel like it makes me a complete person. I feel that training in the martial arts not only keeps you in shape physical but mentally and spiritually as well. So I practice it to reap all of its benefits.

I have practiced some BJJ before, but I currently practice Japanese Jujutsu and Iaido. BJJ was very fun and technical but I love JJJ so this is where I ended up.

Personally I would carry on that tradition...but that is me. As for you, well is it something you truly are proud of and enjoy? If yes then do it! If no then be your own person. Hope that helps.
