katieh I think it's more that I remember personalities. I enjoy books where I empathise with the characters and get into their heads. Maybe that's why I don't imagine them visually - I'm imagining being them, and you can't see your own face.

katieh I couldn't. I have a real thing about rubbery lumps - I can't bear oysters or shellfish either. But at least the thrushes like them. I don't know what they're eating this year - I've hardly seen a snail.

katieh My mint is in a pot on its own too for the same reason. All the other herbs have to share :) The herb which takes over everything else in my garden is lemon balm. It smells lovely but I'd like to have room for something else too!

katieh I wish we could attract toads - they're rarer than frogs here, and I've not seen one even when the garden's hopping with frogs. I'd like newts too. They're even rarer.

katieh I've not had anything eat my tulip bulbs (touch wood) but then I only have a few tulips under the hedge which were here when we moved in. They may be so deep nothing can dig them up.

katieh Aww! We have a couple of birdboxes but no takers yet, though our birdfeeders are really popular. We also have an unwanted neighbour's cat (who dug up my 11 year olds newly planted begonias. He was very cross).

katieh I always write my first drafts on paper. Then my second draft on the computer is a complete rewrite by necessity. If I write the first draft on the computer, I tend to avoid doing any major edits, no matter how badly they are needed.
