why do people lie so much?

i haven't found a good reason for anyone to lie to someone, yet everyone seems to do it. i'm lookin for i guess excuses or if you agree with my thought that there really is no good reason to lie.

What makes you a good friend? Can you be counted on whenver your friend needs you? I try to be the best possible friend I can. I love my friends unconditionally and try to be supportive of them at all times.
