marianoag You're confused SRAM is used for cache or CMOS, What you're talking about is DRAM, maybe you're confusing SRAM with SDRAM (SDR SDRAM) which is DRAM. after SDR came DDR SDRAM, DDR2 and now DDR3, all of them are DRAM. I use 512 i won't upgrade to 1 GB and buy...

marianoag it's the safest thing to do, even if you remove a virus or a spyware, use a registry cleaner and remove service and programs from startup, if windows was installed long ago it gets slow and full of errors.

marianoag I's good but it's still a beta, and it doesn't have addons. Betas of FF3.1 are as fast or faster than Chrome. I'll wait till a stable version with addons.

marianoag Whatever you prefer, it's a matter of taste. What is important is not to use Norton (it doesn't detect the Symantec virus that slows down your computer), nor Avast o AVG (almost every file you scan is a virus), use NOD32.

I have an old Pentium III pc at home with 256 mb of sdram. I am trying to install XP on it but an error occur during installation. I tried windows 2000 but I experienced the same problem. I install windows 98 and it goes well....

marianoag Is that your only computer? if not you could use that machine to try Linux. If you want to install windows, even thought it's enough you should install Windows 2000, it'll be much faster.

marianoag There aren't many Microsoft themes (Royale (same colors a Luna but much better), Royale Noir (Black), zune). i use a Vista theme (i think the one from Vista Transformation pack) but for non MS themes you'll need to patch uxtheme.dll.

marianoag XP, you need a very powerful computer to run vista and it will still be very slow compared to XP. XP is secure enough if you need more security what you need is Linux.
