How do I sanitize eyeshadow?

I got some eyeshadow from the drug store, but it was opened. (I bought it at a discount.) I just want to know how to sanitize it for my own use..

I recently bought Sally Hansen's eye pencil from Walgreens. It was in the bargain section, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Can lose with a dollar, right? I really liked it. What about you? Any good items?
