Is Linux Virus - immune Windows system?

Some one told me that Linux is virus - immune Windows. It won't be easily attacked by Virus while browsing the internet. It is better than Windows XP. Do you agree with that?

picobird i think it depends on the Linux's file management system,not all of the file from other computer and the network can be executable
