I wish to know if my discussions are voted positive or negative. Would you?

I agree. I think it would be good. My rating has been going between 95 and 96 for nearly two months now and I have NO idea why. One day 96, the next 95, and then back to 96. This happems whether I'm active or not, so maybe it has to do with people givind + or - but no feedback, so it would be nice to know.

Thanks for the best response. Actually I'm getting a little tired of myLot at the moment.
I have been very busy over the last three weeks, and I'm going to visit my family in Perth next month, so I won't have much time to visit here. What really annoys me is when you're away for a short time you have to go through almost 100 posts of which only about 5 are worthy of a response. So many are always from the same few, and only without an opinion from the discussion starter. Do you have this problem?

I think that is a very good idea.I would like very much to see how the others vote me,but I'm sure if these happen we gonna see many members start discussions asking why they get negative rates.many people can't except it.Like the numbers at the start..you gonna see some doesn't care so much if it's 10 or 9 or yesterday was higher than today but for some others is really a very big deal,or when and if them discussions be front page ,hot of the day etc.
But personally ,yes I love your idea.....do you listen mylot?

I really don't think that it is necessary. I guess that some people might be curious, but I don't think it really would make much difference unless you were getting a lot of negative ratings and wanted to know where they which discussions they were coming from.

As far as I am concerned, your discussions are always rated as 'positive' even the comments you post in response to my replies are also rated as 'plus' by me. I always rate your replies to my discussions as positive. You are wonderful, mature and kind and very caring friend, so come what may I will always rate you positive.

Oh! I am sorry tht I missed the main issue in the question, and in a hurry submitted my reply.
I think it is not a bad idea to know that how many 'negative' rating you received for a discussion or say for a reply. But I think seeing the number of negative ratings - may have demoralising effect on our participation and moral also. Perhaps it will be safer not to know the actual position.
(ii) Thanks for your support for rating my positive. I am thankful to you.

my dear friend, I hope we could not see the rate we receive because I think that even if we say that we don't care about a negative rate, well..we are feeling worse after seeing it..the fact is that we have to reach goals and standard all life...there are marks at school...standard at work...opinions from people and colleaugues..I can't imagine of adding this to my discussions here...I am here for fun and friendship and I am sure I would be a bit sad when reading that I got many bad remarks...I prefer people leaving a comment explaining their thought to me rather than receiving only a bad mark without any explanation...

Its a good idea but personally I would not like to see rating for my discussions. I like it when I dont know who or how many negative ratings I have got..... If they make it available perhaps I may just look at the number but that number means absolutely nothing as it depends on type of people who come to your discussion...

I always give you a good rating....i love your posts. I think that it would be nice if we knew and maybe we could then understand why they happen.....im sure we are all curious about that.

That would be nice. but that also would create like a war between myLot users. Knowing about the rating of a discussion one could make a conclusion that people who replied made the negative rating and one could get revenge by giving a bad rate to other discussion.
But one thing I'm sure. If this rating system wasn't implemented there would be a lot of real replies. Not good and nice replies just to get good rates like all mylotter (including me) do.

I have thought the same thing but I'm not totally sure if I would want to know about the negative responses. I guess in a way I would to be able to better word my discussions if I'm not doing so well.

this is exactly what I was thinking...maybe others don't understand our topic, or maybe is too offensive for others....we can only get better...

Well it might be fine to know your ratings about discussions if you're given a lot of pluses, but would you REALLY want to know the minuses?? I sure wouldn't--LOL

How about this, instead of putting the votes on the discussion page, just put the totaly +s and -s on the profile discussions started page. That way you have the info but it's not broadcast for everyone.
I would be interested in knowing how my discussions do, more to be able to improve them so that I can make good discussions and responses.

I think it would be great to know who is giving you a positive or a negative respone. Although, I think that might start up a big problem or something.

..I couldn't agree with you more....I just want to know total ratings and popularity...hot discussions are measured based on number of responds not positive ratings...maybe should be all way around...

to be honest with you I rarely mark any discussion anything aside from responses I got for my own topics. I think the one button we need is actually the report abuse button, the more often we get reported for breaking the rules, the earnings will go down or we'll be banned. I think it's more practical that way. I don't know if marking people + and - will affect the earnings or not right now.
