Ok I'm getting sick and tired of these damn religious freaks knocking on my door at 8:00 saturday morning. What the hell is their freaking problem? No I don't want to go to your church, no I don't care to hear whatever it is you're at my door that damn early to sell. I don't want to convert I don't beleive in your god so leave me alone. What is so hard to understand that not everyone believes the same things and knocking on my door at 8am is not going to make me want to listen to you anymore than sending me crap in the mail. I swear it should be illegal for them to go door to door and do that crap. Hell the church that does it is like 3 mins down the road from where I live if I really wanted to go odds are I would have gone by now. Does anyone else get harrased by these religious nuts?

ooohh man oh man if they came knocking at my door at that time of day I would be LESS THAN pleasant.....Normally I'm very polite and proper when dealign with them (gotta love how they bring a child with them around here like its goin to encourage me or some damn thing LOL) but if you mess with my morning I'll be very cranky with you...not because i'm sleepign (I get up disgustingly early every day) but you'll set off my dogs which will wake up the REST of the family and THAT will tick me off! Whats funny though, when i was in Canada, a group of door knocking teens came to the house one afternoon and then a group of older folk came peddlign their religion and I informed both that I wasnt interested to which of course they asked why and I told them I am Pagan.."Pagan? whats that?" they asked....I smiled and said "I'm a Witch"...both groups got wide-eyed, said "oh!" and shuffled off rather quickly....well every time they were in the neighbourhood after that (which was fairly frequently) they literally WIDE CIRCLED my house!! LOL it was priceless!!

LOL.. all that does around here is get more folks trying to come and convert me. I swear it gets really anoying after a bit. What drives me nuts the most is I sleep during the day so when they come knocking they are waking me up. I'm not the most plesent person to wake up so nice is not what I'm gonna be at 8am expecially if I've just fallen asleep.

"All you try to do is disrupt them right? So we should let you?? WHY!?" first of all who are you directing that to and secondly what exactly do you mean "disrupt them"? I think the only ones disrupting is the ppl who invade my property and pester me..

I sometimes think I have "Please preach at me" tattooed on my forehead or something, because it does seem that I run into a lot of these people. I do have the luck of living on the second floor of what looks like a regular house but is actually two apartments, so people wouldn't really think to come upstairs and knock on my door. However, when I was younger there were always people showing up at my door to proselytize. I used to run to my great-grandmother's house and warn her they were coming while they were making their circuit. We would prepare a nice ritual scene for them, way over-the-top, and we only ever got members of each religious group at her house once. =p I think there should be a law against any kind of door-to-door soliciting, religious or otherwise. However, I'm sure there are people who think that would be damaging their freedom of religion rights, which in their opinion include forgetting everyone else's rights.

I'm not really sure who you're talking to here? It's under my post but doesn't seem to apply to me since I am female! Could you please explain what you mean here?

..I likely wouldn't answer the door.. if we do talk, I usually tell them my theory of how the christian message has lost something over the 2000 years.. and also picked up some baggage along the way.. they become convinced I am a heretic and not very well intentioned at that, and don't send me anymore of their workers.. whcih actually I am well intentioned, and believe all things consist of some truth and some error.. and tolerance for all.

It never ceases to amaze me how cruel and hateful people are. People with your attitude are the reason the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Maybe you need to go to Iraq, they would probably appreciate you.

Yes the people who serve in the military deserve our respect, especially those who went to Iraq. And yes they have the right to expect privacy in their own home. My problem is the language. Is it really necessary to use foul language which some people find offensive in order to get your point across? The group of people who knocked on her door have been doing this for years and I doubt they will ever stop, I don't care for them either. And before you yell freedom of speech to me, save it. I am a journalist and know all about it. I just think there are other ways of making a point without anger and offensive language.

Actually I've been to Iraq so before you open your stupid a$$ mouth you should probably know what the hell you're talking about. There is nothing crule or hateful about not wanting some fanatic to come knock on my door at 8am to push their religious beliefs down my damn throat. If I wanted to go to their church or even share their faith then I would since I don't that should be a good indicator that I'm not intrested. So instead of being rude and waking people up in the morning they need to leave me alone and let me freaking sleep.

Oh kitty if you weren't so far away I could kiss you lol. I get so tired of ignorant a$$ people like her sitting there trying to preach to me and at the same time being so very hypocritical. It reminds me of the saying people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

When they showed up at my brother's door, if they were male, he'd make a pass at them. Hell yeah, they ran.

You really had a knack for hating anything. But there's nothing wrong with it - some people just needs to be left alone minding their own business. I was just wondering, do you live in an area where every religous denomination has a church or temple? Man, it really will drive me nuts to have someone knocking the door every now and then asking me to partake in their religious activities. One odd experience for me was when I was watching on my pc an episode of the National Geographic regarding the other prophets that lived in Jesus's time that could have been rivals of him. I myself have been having doubts about any religion lately, so it was no big deal for me to watch. Midway through the whole program somebody called - and guess what, it was some layman asking me to join a catholic group. he even asked me to pray with him on the phone. Now, what was that? Am I being detected somewhere as someone needing help? Man, i could have just hung up but i was not in a rude mood that day. :)

I usually have this very unique view that I like to toss at these religious fanatics. I'm also surprised that no one's called the local mental institution to have me committed. The view that I toss around is that the reason taht there are so many religion is because we got visited by advanced beings from outer space, & because their technology was so advanced compared to the knowledge & technology at the times, they were seen as gods & prophets because of the said advanced technology that seemed to easily accomplish things that was impossible, or at least very tough to accomplish with ease, at that time.

Well - many have come up with theories about the beginnings of mankind, some saying that we evolved from apes, others saying that we were genetically engineered by some advanced race ...

whew.. It's a good thing that religious people here do not try to convert others into their religion. While there are some who roam the streets, they do not knock on doors as early as 8am. Maybe you could put a sign on your door that says "I'm not interested to convert into another religion" or something like that.

Old Time Religion - I have this in my porch
Don't you just love it, you are just sitting down to a meal and*ding dong* goes the door bell. And there they are, all dressed up in suits. That's usually the time when I politely point to the small pentagram sticker I have on my door. If they don't take this on board, then I indicate the larger and rather pretty pentagram I have on the hall wall. If they still don't get the message then that's the time I simply say, "I'll come over to your place just as you are sitting down to a meal, and we can talke about my religion"

They just want you to be saved and know the Lord. That is all. It is out of concern that they do this...(most of them anyway). I am a Christian and I pray for those who don't know the Lord and I love to talk about Him. God bless.

Christians are supposed to spread the Word of God everywhere. We are not supposed to keep Christ to ourselves. We should not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know I'm not! God is awesome and He is good...ALL the time!

Ok look ya little nutball, not everyone has your same beliefs and nor do we want them. So how about respect us and the fact that we don't want to share your faith and leave us the hell alone. If we wanted to go to your church we would if we wanted to believe what you do then we already would. Since we don't how about respect that fact and back the hell off.

I don't about the horse and all that craziness, but my sister is a JW and she just wants to be right about everything. No one else is right except them, which in and of its self is a sign of insanity. But, do what my cousin did one morning. Invite them in, if and only if he can minister to their children. That was not acceptable to them.

But the second thing she show to me is a book. There are some names and after them are the mount they donate. she asked me i must sign on it and give them money. I felt so headache, at last, I donate 20 yuan and a bottle of water.

I think that most of us at one time or another have been bombarded by the religous community at least once. I personally do not like it either, but I understand that is part of their religion to try to convert people and bring faith to new members.

Ok, ok...I know how to the fix this problem. Many years ago while living in a different State, the Jehovah Witnesses would come-a-knockin' two or three times a month. Very annoying. So when we moved and built our new home, my hubby built the front and back porches with a slight tilt away from the door. I pointed out to him that the porches were not level. He said, "That is so the Jehovah Witnesses will fall off the porch if they come again." We have never had any more problems with bible thumpers on the the doorstep since.

Some people don't have the common sense to know when they're disturbing others. It's a shame that you got someone bugging you in your door at 8am on a saturday morning. If they want to preach it's cool, they have churches, mosques, sinagoges etc for it, but they should respect the rest of us and let us do what we want, wether that includes going to church or not.

Are they really there at 8am or are you exagerating? I have them come to my door in the afternoon sometimes. Most people I know won't answer when they come to the door. I've heard friends talk about hiding when they knock on the door. I think that's pretty silly. Most of the time I will answer the door. If they ask to come in, I tell them no, or I can't I'm busy. They usually just leave a little booklet then go on their way. For some reason, I just don't get pissed off about this like most people do. I know they are just trying to do what their bible tells them to do. Spread the word of God. In their mind they are not doing any harm, they are doing something good. I try not to judge others either for their lack of religion or their overabundance of religious enthusiasm. Life is too short to be angry over every little thing. Sure they are annoying, but they usually leave fairly quickly.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Im not a religious person at all - but I respect other religions, and I would never try to convert someone to my way of thinking. How is it okay for them to come to my door on a sunday at 8am, and start handing me panphlets? Would the like it if I went to their door and starting telling them that religion, in my opinon is pointless? It should be against the law for them to disrupte people in that way.
