Are your clothes ready to wear? How organized is your closet?

Any time I called my friend, she was busy ironing. She always complained about having nothing to wear. I visited her recently and she asked me to look in her closet. I told her that I wouldn’t find anything in her closet, because her closet is not organized.
To make story short, I helped her to organized closet in about 2 hours.
She agrees to donate some of her old clothes to charity, because she didn’t wear them for over 2 years. When we finished, she was very happy. I showed her frustration free system that always works for me. Clothes are organized by purpose and by colors.
Some are set together the way she always wears them.
On top of it, I showed her how to wash and dry her clothes to reduce or eliminate ironing time. Her comment was…”no wonder you can get ready in 2 minutes”
How organized is your closet?
Do you like folded clothes or all on hangers?

My closet!!!haha! My bf does laundry he's the one hanging clothes and all. I'm so disorganized! I admit it...I always have...sometimes when I'm looking for that one shirt or skirt I get so frustrated....Your right about feeling so happy donating clothes. Last Summer when I was pregnant I donated 13 trashbags full of clothes. Most of it I only wore a few times or never wore at all. I also feel accomplished when I fold all my clothes and hand everything......makes you feel good. I should do it more often!

Hi.. I'm not realy that organized when it comes to my wardrobe - although I do have one half of the wardrobe for tops and the other for trousers, skirts and dresses. My going out wear is on the outer side of the wardrobe so that all my work clothes are easily accessible!
I very rarely iron at all, don't have an ironing bored so when something really needs ironing I do it on a towel on the floor! It's terrible really. People that iron everything - even their underwear make me laugh (no offense to anyone) but everyday wears aren't going to be seen!??? :0)

Good point made, it the clothes are organised, you can wear them within no time, if you are to leave somewhere in a hurry. Not only clothes, everything should be organised in our home and we should knwo...what is lying where. YOu appear to me a good organiser and a systematic person, who knows how to organise things. You really did great favour to your friend in imporving her habits. We should also take a leaf from you.

my husband doesn't like clothes hung while they're not dry. In any season other than winter, I always hang heavy laundry on the lines, under the sun. underwear and light laundry will dry in minutes in the dryer.
now that you said this, I would get a closet organizer. we have 3 closets but most is full of my husband's clothes and I only use 1 closet for my formal clothes and other dresses. Most of my clothes are casuals, jeans and tank tops so they are folded. I wear them at home and in the shop.

hehe it's more practical to me. I have to work at the shop then go home and do the dishes and cook. In the weekend I do this too plus I have to do laundry. I don't feel like wearing anything formal everyday :)

I like that all of my cloths will be organized in my closet. But i can not say that it is always that way.
Somtimes i have periods of my life that i am so busy, that my clothes do look like they are in a war with each other.
And there are times that i freak out, if everything is not organized at a certain place in my closet.
Ofcourse that makes my whole life more organized, but i can not say that i am a very organized person.

Believe it or not, my closet is organized and my clothes are always ready to wear, but, I have two closets as well, one is for my cosplay clothes, the other for my "normal" clothes.

My dresses will be kept in a rack after washing. I myself will iron my pants and shirts and hang it in the rack. I spent an hour for ironing my dresses for the whole week. I use to give my old clothes to the helpage homes. I keep the ironed pants in a separate rack and hang the shirts in the holders in the rack.

I keep my closet very organized and i dont keep too much. I used to have way too much and i just cleaned it all out. I really think you can have too much and not see what you have. It makes me fell better to have that sense of organization. I love it...

oh I have never thought before that having a tidy closet would be so uncommon or difficult...but now that you pointed out the matter, well I have a friend whose house, not only closet, is a complete mess!!! I am quite a tidy person and I am always putting things into order and I try to have good care of my clothes..as you already know I have a special attention for underwear and they have a special drawer, then there are places for everything..shirts, sweaters, belts, bags, socks and tights and of course I like having my winter and summer clothes separated so I can easily change my wardrobe according to the season!!!I like hangers, but I have my shirts and sweaters all folded:::and yes I am used to donating to charity clothes that I don't wear anymore and that are in good conditions

Yes and no. My clothes are all hung up and I have a drawer for just underclothes but that's it. I have a pair of play clothes I wear for the most part around the house and the rest are outdoor clothes for when I go out.
!!HAPPY EASTER!!

my closet is quite well-organised even though it is not perfect... but at least i can still find my clothes quite easily and i don't have to struggle to search through my whole closet to find the clothes that i want to wear... i think my folded and hang clothes are balance depending on the type of clothes... if they can be folded, then i will fold them... otherwise i will hang them...

My closet is pretty well organized. Due to lack of space we do not have very big closets, so most of our clothes are folded. I would like more hanger-space. i really do not enjoy ironing at all - and i think a bigger closet would mean less ironing

Most of my clothes are on hangers...my system makes my clothes iron free (most of the time)and ready to wear....I don't have many clothes, some I always put aside...like winter clothes...to free more space.
