Do you have curly hair? What is the one product you just can't live without in order to control your curly hair? Lately it seems that I couldn't live without my scrunchy/twist-tie, I just pull my hair back every day. I actually love my curls but they seem to have a mind of their own lately and I wonder if it is time for me to change the products I have been using. We have been getting alot of rain lately and I just may have forgotten what it was like to deal with humid weather. What do you use on your hair..... even if it is not curly? I am looking for the best stuff out their.

You know I am the same way. I used to curl my hair (I have very straight blonde hair), but now I pull it tight in a ponytail with a scrunchy or a ribbon in it, we are so hot in the 94 degrees with 80-100% humidity and very muggy

I don't have curly hair. But my sister does. She uses a scrunch like you as well. She also can't live without Fruitous garnier shampoo and condioner. She also buy the gels to help control and tame her hair. She gets the kind specificlly made for curly hair. My hair is naturally straight. It doesn't curl a bit. But I have a real bad problem with frizzyness. I use the same stuff my sister does. But for frinessness control. I also swear by sunsilk shampoo. It has seemed to work the bets fo rme.

Hi for my hair I have to use straighteners although I don't like using them all the time since I'm worried about the effects it would have on my hair, but I certainly do prefer my hair straight. Sometimes I leave my hair to dry naturally and it isn't really really curly just a bit wavy however it does get out of control sometimes.

What straighteners do you use? Do you like them?

What do you use now?? products I mean- My daughter has naturally curly hair- oh my somedays it is so hard to manage- I buy Pantene healthy curls shampoo/ and conditioner for her- and then pantene curl gel-- it seems to control it pretty good- but when it's hot or she runs around alot- look out it gets big and frizzy! poor thing! I'm looking for other products to use in her hair also- She keeps asking to get it straightened- but she is only 10.

I actually have products I have used for years and been pleased with but lately they seem to not be enough. I like the TiGi line called Curls Rock, but I have never really found a shampoo and conditioner I think is just the thing. Your poor daughter, I feel for her. I was dealing with this already by the time I was 10 as well. There weren't near as many products on the market at that time.

Oh, and trust me.... it won't mean anything to her for you to say stuff like 'there are people who would love to have your hair', it will only frustrate her further. Take it from someone who knows.

My sisters have the same hair as you. We aren't sure where mine came from. Thank goodness for being able to pull it back.

I use the Sunsilk shampoo and conditioners. If I am going to be using a drier of iron of some kind then I use the thermashine line, if I am just washing and letting it do its thing I use the de-frizz line. I monthly treat my hair with mayo and I keep a conditioning hair mask around for those days it just needs extra help. After every shower (if I am not heat treating my hair) I use a spray conditioner and a light weight serum to control frizz and give my curls bounce. If I am using heat then I use a heat treatment conditioner before I use the heat. After all of that I use a light weight minimal hold gel to hold the curls together otherwise as my day goes the ringlets fall apart and it just turns to frizz. My hairdresser told me that to lighten up gel and make it easier to work with put your gel in your hand then spray it with your spray conditioner then work it into your hair, I have done that for several years and I always have perfect spirals. Naturally curly hair, what a joy. For those days that I can't be bothered to do all that or I just want it up and out of the way I have 2 drawers full of hair ties, clips, sticks, bun holders, you know the normal long curly hair things to hide a bad hair day.

I do not do much with my hair. I have a very straight hair, so I just wash it with Head and Shoulder shampoo and curly it once in a while.

My curly hair got the best of me for years, and I finally just cut it short so I wouldn't have to mess with it anymore. I wash it with New Hair Shampoo from Lush generally, and then use leave-in conditioner on it (Garnier Fructis Curl&Shine). I used to have some major dandruff issues, but between a treatment called Recon from Lush and the New Hair shampoo... no more dandruff for me. =)

I also have curly hair so I totally empathize with you. On my own hair I use hair products that are geared for straightening. I use a straightening shampoo as well as a conditioner to go with it and afterwards I use a straightening serum. My hair may never be completely straight, but at least the products take away all the frizz out. Curls are beautiful, but when frizz takes over it's not so great.

I have curly hair too, and I used to have a lot of problem with frizz, and I still do if it gets rained on. Usually just humidity won't get it all out of control anymore though. I use a lot of conditioner, and only wash my hair every other day. (I buy pantene proV) Occasionally I use a concentrated or deep conditioner. I usually use a curl control mousse either by pantene proV or FrizzEase (all their products are great but expensive). A bottle of mousse will last a long time. Much longer than I expected. I tried the VO5 mousse but didn't like it as much. my hair was less curly and more frizz than with the other products. Gel works great but I only use it if I want my hair to dry really fast (like if I went to lap swim during the day). Swimming was what made me start using so much conditioner to being with. To fight frizz that starts after my hair is dry, sometimes I'll smooth in a little conditioner or lotion. It actually works pretty well if you're in a pinch.
