What are you doing on the internet?

Wow! You mean like, I dunno, MODERATION!? What a concept! Of course then we might have to apply it to our diet and actually become healthy. We might apply it to our politics, and start having rational debates! I'm sorry if this is a hijack, but I am a big fan of moderation in all aspects of life. (Note, not mediocrity, moderation. There is a difference.) The internet is definately one place where that is exceedingly neccessary. Kids need to still go out and ride their bikes and play basketball and walk the dogs, etc and not stay wired up all day, as well. I think one of the reasons I really like Mylot and can spend some serious time here now and again are many of these discussion posts that make me stretch my mind and think. Hopefully there will be more places like this where intelligent discussion can continue on the internet.

hmm..the things i do on the net..mylotting ^_^ ..the primary things that i do on the net are check/write/forward emails, chat with friends on msn/yahoo, downloading music, visiting forums about my favourite artistes and do research for my work. other things i do on the net are online shopping, online banking, watching series on youtube..

There are both pros and cons in using internet...Children are liking to play games always..They spoil their studies...and gets addicted...Of course the internet can be used to gain knowledge...

I have no room for games on the net. They are a waste of time. The computer if full of information like a library. It is able to allow for employment. Most of what I do online is supported by earnings I make on line. Next month is will be totally supported again. I have a real world life and so the computer is scheduled in. I work part time in the real world and that makes me more money currently. I hope with the way the world in going that someday I earn all my money online. Then any part time money I earn is play money for festivals and eating out!!

Yes i agree. I think all the information and wants is all in the internet. I do not just used the net in games, chatting, get information and pleasure, etc. I also make used of it to gain income. I like to check out news, sports and other information online. It is also for me, a cheap way to chat with my daughter. I haven't played any on-line games lately. Occasionally I'll play solitare when I am off line. I also like to write on my blog and write things off line.

Yes, the Internet has opened a lot of doors to the world. There are a lot of things that we can now do that we never would have been able to do before. Such as talk to people across the world. Take a look at earth from space, buy things at the online auctions that are cheap. But although it has opened this world up and the world is basically at our fingertips it has also closed us down. I say this because kids are spending more and more time in doors and online. I know teenagers that spend every day on the net for hours. As soon as they come home from school they jump online. They have "friends" in all kinds of places, which is great because then our society won't be so judging of other people in other countries BUT! I know a few kids that don't really have any REAL friends, just online friends, and that is not a healthy way to live either.

Yeah i too feel that net surfing is the pick of the day. I too never spend a day without surfing a net for atleast 4-5hrs. a day. Besides this I prefer use it searching for various earning money programes and collecting numerous information from all over the world.

I do alot on the internet such as; taking online classes, using myspace to keep in touch with friends & family, visiting MyLot regulary, use t5he free email and also use it for research. My son has a brain disorder and the internet has helped me to understand it better.

Well what I usually do is try an make a living on the internet. I have been trying this for years and without any success, although this will still, most probably not perturb me and there are alot and I MEAN alot of scam artists. I also spent a few bucks trying these jobs, so if you know of a real place that works please respond I would really appreciate this. I am now trying the free lottery systems, a few of them, just in case this reign of ever present bad luck prevails finally is gone, vanquished and I can have my little bit of luck I think I deserve after all these years. I think spending more time in internet won't hurts yea as more people are turning into internet sales and stuff , people need to adpat to long hours in internet selling and communicating yea

I do not really do much on the internet, except checking my e-mails, doing mylot and playing games.

I use the Internet to gather knowledge. I earn a little just for fun but that is just a secondary thing. I need it to check my email and things and to talk to relatives using Skype. I also love to play checkers and riversi with another player on the Internet.

sound very much like a short eassy, haha, different people in different countries have different habits using the internet, we chinese like to chat and play games on the internet, on the other hand americans use the internet for information.

i completely agree with you that use of internet is harmful when not used in a proper way. but these days many of us are using it to earn money.
