I cannot get up to $1/day on myLot any more. There for almost a week I was making over a $1 a day. Now I am fortunate if I make 50 cents in a day and that is on a good day. I have to admit I haven't started quite as many discussions and some discussions my friends have started I don't have a comment or don't know the answer for them. Do you have any suggestiosn?

the most i have made in one day is 96 cents, and i was quite baffled by how i managed that, as for the most part i too earn roughly 20-50cents per day.
i think the key is to make sure you respond in a quality manner to many posts per day as well as starting a few discussions yourself.
there is no clear and definitive way to say exactly how we earn our money here on mylot, there is nothing in the FAQ to tell us how much we get per word/post/discussion started...
so all i can say, is try to find things that you can reply to more often :(

Thanks so much for the help. Yes, I think I had heard the more you can respond the better we are paid. I really don't understand how the pay has be so different but making a little is better than nothing. Thanks for posting.

Did you keep a tally? If you keep track and compare the number of responses you made, did it differ from day to day. And the length/quality of the responses?
It may be just that you are paid less because you posted less. Then.. it would be logical, wouldn't it?

No, I haven't kept as track of it on paper. Just going by what I think I've done. Thanks for posting.

I know what you mean. I only make at most 50c sometimes a little more and find it very tiring answering discussions. I am just happy that if i make a little everyday, that it is enough to get minimum payout. Sorry mamacathie I don't really have any suggestions.

I have not been fortunate enough to make a dollar a day in mylot. The highest earnings I received is 0.64 and I was happy about it. Yesterday I learned that there are mylotters out there who make a dollar a day and I say, wow! That's great. I would like to earn like that too! So now I made it my goal to reach that kind of earning.

I joined mylot three days back.I started of with 12 cents on the first day,i was wondering weather thats the maximum that i could ever get. Then for the past two days i am spending around 3-4 hours in mylot, making around 25 posts and uploading 10 pictures a day.I made 30 odd cents for the past two days, now my earnings so far is .75$ with 62 posts.Am i going on well? Or should i do a bit more, will starting a new discussion make an impact or is it just responding to discussion that will have a greater benefit? Please share your suggestions here.Thanks.

You are doing great! I think they suggest starting discussions too. That you will make more. I think I read somewhere to try to start 10 discussions a day. Now, I don't know where I read it but I think that I what I read. Thanks for posting.

The standard used to be to say make a post about four lines long, but what I have seen recently is that I do better if I can post a response that is closer to ten lines long. When I started focusing on how much I was making last spring, is when my earning began to really fail.Right after I posted a discussion that was telling people how to make their $1.00 a day. There have been other little changes now and again, but nothing really stands out in my mind. I was down to earning about 1.4 cents per post. Thankfully I am back to around 3 cents, but I am not bragging, it could die back down tomorrow and I would never really know why.

Lately, I have noticed that mylot's rates are lower as compared to the rates when I was just starting in this site. Maybe because there are becoming more and more members from this site. And as you have mentioned, it's because you are not actively participating anymore. Maybe try to be more active here in mylot, just like the way you have been participating just like before. ;) Try to add more interests in your profile, maybe adding interests would make it easier for you to respond to some discussions other people started. If nothing interests you from the discussions your friend started, try looking in top discussions or discussions with no responses.
I think everybody experiences the same thing that you are encountering right now. I have seen my earnings drop and now I am trying to work harder to get to my $1 per day. :) If I earn about 50 cents today, that would be great because honestly, my average earning per day is very low, 20 cents as compared to my earnings before which is a dollar.

It was the same for me. At one point I was almost up to a dollar a day. I couldn't believe it at first. I was like, wow mylot is really starting to pay out. But I haven't been able to do that in a while. right now I'm struggling to make 50 cents a day.
I wonder if it has to do with the more you post. Like they pay you more when you first start out to get you hooked. Then as your post count goes up, your payscale goes down. I hope that's not the case. It's just a guess.

I hope that is not the case too. I can't even get to 50 cents a day again. I got to work hard on it. Thanks for posting.

the only suggestion I have is trying also to upload photos. I saw somewhere that it's good to upload at least 10 images a day...
I never earned $1 but perhaps I don't post so much and my answers are not very long because I have some difficulties to writte in english.

Well, if we started 10 discussions a day and added 10 images to that a day and then responded all we could we might be able to increase our earnings. I may give it a try. Thanks for posting.

The same thing is happening to me. I've been so busy answering discussions, I haven't had much time to start very many. Maybe we get paid more if we start them? I was hoping to get up to $2 a day by now. But, I've only had 1 day that I made $1, so now I'm hoping I can make at least $1 a day.

Well, I am down to not even making 50 cents a day so now my goal is just to build up to 50 cents and then maybe $1/ day. Thanks for posting.

I do not think My lot is having anything to do with earnings. It does not any greater incentives but, it definitely bring us close to serious discussions and also making us a little bit educated in day to day affairs. This is the only incentive and important one.

In my opinion ,earning my not be the main reason to be on my lot, earning are meager to be discussed and one should never think one can earn here but if a person sits on my lot to earn something, it will make him sick and he or she can not go for healthy discussion and it will result in total failure of the purpose and people will lose interest in it

hey even i am suffering to earn money over here, but i have realised my mistake, i used to post only two or three lines responses but now i have started posting much descriptive way, earlier i didnt readed the discussion properly, i used to give responses withou reading the content, i used to read only heading that is topic of discusion, so from now i m posting regularly by watching the whole discussion, i will suggest you to try to be as descriptive as possible , then you will also get more than one dollar per day.

I saw the pay jump up for a few days and now it has dropped back down again. I would be very interested to know how they decide our payment. No matter how hard I work, I have never made it to a dollar a day.
I was thinking that maybe they pay you according to your ratings by other users or maybe it is a lot of things factor in together. I use to think that they started out with a negative number, before the even got to a penny. I don't know. I am sure though, if I found a better site, I would run like my pants were on fire.
Mylot is really starting to drain me. No matter how much time and effort I put in, it doesn't seem to amount to much. But I guess for now, it is better than nothing.

Hello mamacathie! Fyi, I've never made $1 a day eventhough I would have answered quite a number. I am not sure why, but it would be nice if I could at least make $1 a day... Maybe I should add more umph.. to my responses or have more interesting discussions to put foward... Seriously, am myself without the perfect answer for you but I'll try my best to give responses for my fellow myLotters!! :

I have been here a little over a month now. The most I have ever made in a day is 52 cents. I don't start a lot of discussions. But I think the trick is getting more responses for the discussions you start. I only have one discussion started with 75 responses so far. The others are around 30 or less. I respond back to these discussions a little at a time, which brings them up on the right hand corner of the home page of friends that have started discussions each time it is responded to. Thus getting more view to the discussion that was started and getting more responses to them. I could be way off but that is what I am thinking.
