Do you find exposed bra straps tacky?

I work on a college campus. I have noticed an increasing trend of exposed bra straps. If a shirt has smaller shoulder staps than than the wearer's bra, it is worn anyway. Another instance is shirts worn off the shoulders entirely with a regular bra...straps showing. What are your thoughts on this? Do you find this fashion trend tacky or not?

I don't like this either. I think it tacky and trashy. I've seen women who wear bras that don't have the same shape straps as their shirts. Like the cross type shirt with a regular bra. I just think it's makes the people look awful. It's not cute or sexy. It's just tacky.

I will be the brave (and lone) one to say that I don't mind it. I even do it though not by choice.
The Facts
1. I have to wear bras with thicker straps.
2. I live in New Mexico. It is HOT!!!
3. I am still going to wear tank tops.
4. All of the tank tops I have found show my bra straps.
Why should I suffer in the heat just because people don't like the way my bra strap MAY be poking out on my shoulder. I think for people to be bothered about this is silly and petty! The thong out of the pants though that is uncalled for! There is no excuse for that!

Be honest, when you see that isn't it tempting to want to pull it back and flip them with it? LOL, thong straps to me look like a sling shot in the waiting.

I have to agree that this is a bad trend. It just looks bad. Plus, think of your goofy tan lines. When I was a teen, that was the one thing I always asked, can you see my bra straps? If you could, I would wear a strapless or a different shirt. Or another shirt on top.

I find exposed bra straps very tacky. I try my best to avoid my bra straps showing though sometimes they peak out from my shirt, whether it's a tank or sleeved style shirt. :P And I would never wear something off the shoulders and have my bra straps show. The next thing you know unbuttoned and unzipped pants will be the next fashion trend. :P LOL

Yes,you are right not only in your place but also in a conservative and traditional country like India also
this is happening as quite few girls and ladies are doing
this for the sake of fashion.
This is not by accident but by design other wise how
can they buy these type of dresses, knowing about their bra
size, they might doing this to attract attention to themselves I believe.

Personally, I think it's tacky as heck. I'm always trying to make sure my straps are hidden (and stay hidden!) It also drives me nuts that a lot of them wear those low rider jeans and have their thong strap sticking out the top....ewwwww! (Which surely is the equivalent of the boys that wear the pants with their boxers showing at the top. What the heck ever happened to modesty?! It used to be that under things were...well, under 'things' and not a fashion statement.

Lets add one more thing---you can buy extra bra straps to put on to show off, decorative ones. Yes, I find it tacky, but what do I know, right? I think it is part of the "lingerie look". At least they are wearing bras.

Only on me I do, LOL. I have a time finding shirts that are comfortable, yet won't expose my straps because the neck is so wide. Seems like in the last 3 years, shirts have strange necklines that no matter what you do, my strap is going to stick out. Drives me nuts. I hate shirts with collars cause they feel so uncomfortable to me. So I spend my day constantly adjusting.

And here I thought it was just me who found this to be nasty. I work with people who come to work dressed like that. I think it is awful.

I'm starting to get used to it. My daugther wears her shirts like that.
For a while, I had some tops that almost covered the bra straps but they would peek out. I was searching for the right bra to go under the tops. I finally found the bras.
For myself, I really don't like the look.
I'm not thrilled with it for younger girls (women) but I think it is just a trend. I try not to worry about it too much. In my generation it wasn't something we did, but I try not to overjudge current fashion trends.
I'd rather see an exposed bra stap than an exposed thong, though! That one always got me to shake my head in dismay.

It really depends. If it is completely shoulderless, then I don't like it. But if it's a top but still exposes, I think it's kind of sexy. I also like that when the top of the bra peeks out of a deep cut top... that's pretty sexy I reckon. But like boobtube exposing bra strap is a no-no for me.

I find it absolutely tacky. Regardless of whether the exposed bra strap is colorful or seems too pretty to be hidden, the fact that it's attached to the bra, and therefore part of the underwear, it should be kept under the clothes and out of public sight. And if one should decide to wear a top with spaghetti straps, there is such a thing as a strapless bra, right? As for off-the-shoulder tops, i think it's so much sexier to show off the shoulders without any straps obstructing the clean, smooth line.

Wow, I thought I was the only one with a warped old fashioned sense of..well, fashion. Every time I see that I think that girl should invest in a strapless bra. It affects me the same way as seeing someone with their tag sticking out of the back of their shirt. I just want to go fix the problem. lol

It depends on who is wearing it and how cute that bra looks. But, if it isn't worth looking at it then maybe it is tacky.

Yes, I find exposed bra straps tacky as well. It's just lazy in my opinion to not go to the store and buy a strapless bra if you want to wear a shirt that is actually made for strapless and to not wear the appropriate bra. I don't see how anyone could find bra straps hanging on the shoulder or arm sexy or attractive? But then again look at the boys wearing pants with their butts hanging out. It's the younger generation. No tact! No respect!

I found that it's getting really hard to find bras with the convertable straps. I like those because you can wear the straps 3 different ways. I started wearing ones with the clear straps because they are not as noticable. I hate that someone else decides what is not in fashion anymore and you can no longer buy something you feel comfortable with.

we as a male person i dont like it either, dont find it sexy. i feel the woman is so tacky that they dont know how to dress well maybe they show wear strapless bra or the new one strapless one, why should we show our underwear to the public. if it is not for bikinis at the beach? it came from the fashion show that they show some strap. they think male would appreciate it no! male would be attracted to some laces it make girl sexy like the nighties do you agree with it?

I think that when you show an ordinary bra strap with a shirt, thats inapporiate. I feel that if you dress up the straps to make them look like the shirt then thats okay. I found a website called www.strappity.com that sells adjustable, hand beaded bra straps. The photos on the website make them look like the straps are part of the shirt so no one would ever know its a bra strap unless you asked the person wearing it. They are strong and reliable and they are really pretty!! They are perfect for your summer outfit wearing. Anybody can wear them, you can use them for tank tops, tube tops, formal gowns, even bathing suits!! So regular bras- tacky...beaded bra straps-trendy
