Where do you park your car at night?

So I've seen some sites that give quotes, ask where I park my car at night. I know what they are saying. Where do I truly live. And I live in an apartment complex. Usually, I can get a spot close to my side of the complex. On occasion I have to park farther away. I don't mind that unless it is raining. : ) So where do you park your car at night? Driveway? Street? Your yard?

We have a pickup truck and a car. We park our car in our garage and we park our truck in front or the side of our house. (we live on a corner)

Is it much more inconvenient to live on a corner?

My husband and I park our car in front of our townhouse complex. Each person has their own space. It's kinda crappy when it rains, but it's not far from our porch to the car. We're building a house and we'll be able to park beside our house, but we still won't have anything covered to go under. My husband wants one of those covered metal parking thingys you can buy.

Wow, you're building a house? That's so exciting! How much longer until it is finished?

*sigh* My husband and I have been waiting on our house for almost three years! It has been on hold off and on over those years. My husband and his dad's crew are building it, and they have had to take other jobs and we've been waiting on all kinds of other various aggravating things. It will be so beautiful when it's done. It will hopefully be finished within the next few months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope there will be a baby on the way to live there too.:P

We park our cars in our driveway at night. If our neighbor is out of town we will park one of our vehicles in her driveway because she wants people to think that someone is there. I wish we had a garage that I could park in so I wouldn't get wet while taking the baby out of his carseat when it rains. Maybe we'll get it on our next house.

That's nice of you to protect your neighbor's home like that. I always preferred people do that when I lived with my family and we'd go away. It's a bummer you don't have a garage, but hopefully that will change soon. : )

We have a driveway in the back of our house where we park the cars. We actually have a two car garage but it's go so much stuff.. ie: junk in it that we can't use it for the cars! Not completely our fault. I inherited this house from my grandparents and they were total packrats. Grandpa had the garage completely full of stuff and before I could get it all cleaned out my hubby moved in. All of his extra stuff that we didn't put in the house and all his music equipment had to go into the garage. So both sides of the garage are packed full. One of these days I'm going to rent a dumpster and just start pitching stuff, maybe we'll be able to use at least one side one of these days! LOL

You might have a hard time throwing stuff away since it is your grandparents. Or maybe you're not overly attached to things like that. I'm not a packrat, but it's hard for me to part with things from my family. Although it sounds like maybe all those things are stuff that really does belong in the dumpster. You'll probably get a work out when you clean the garage again. : )

I hated living in an apartment building because we could never find a spot close to our apartment to park. We live in a house now so we have our own driveway.

Hi AmbiePam, Even though I have a small house but I'm still lucky because my car parked at the porch area. So raining does not matter to me.

I have a parking spot in the alley, but I always tell the insurance that it's a carport, I think it just sounds better than a parking spot in the alley, I don't park on the street anymore, other people just don't know how to parallel park and are so careless and they never leave a note when they ding your car... meanies.

I think these days the instructors don't even make people parallel park anymore. Because no one really is even adequate at it. And it's not funny when it's your car that suffers the damage. : )

I park my car in the garage. I have a garage attached to my apartment. My apartment is connected to a girls dorm. My wife is the head girls dean at a secondary (9-12) co-ed boarding school. I teach at the school.

We park in our driveway at night. We live in a residential area where everyone either uses their garages or driveways. There is no parking allowed along the road.

In my driveway. I have a very strange set up. My garage was put on the back of my lot without a floor or driveway and the driveway is right in back of my house! Strange!

I dont own a car. But I have a bike which i park in the open space below my apartment. There are lots of people fighting in our apartment for the sake of parking. Big mess.

Yeah. If I could get by with a bike, that would be great. And you're saving money by not having to buy gas.

I have a nice big driveway for my cars. I park where I can ge out quickly in the mornings. I am the last home at night and the first to leave in the morning. I park near my back door.It is convenient to go straight into the kitchen.

We actually have a garage on our home, but believe it or not, it is too full of other things to park a car in it! We park our vehicles in our driveway. The garage has exercise equipment, bicycles, workbench, lawnmowers and scads of other items in it! We have never had a problem with vandalism of our vehicles, I sure hope we don't start having trouble!

I think now days it is actually more rare to park your car IN the garage. Everyone has the best of intentions, but they can't fit all their belongings in their house so the garage is the next best thing.

My husband and I park our truck under our carport, though sometimes we park it in our driveway. When we lived in an apartment complex together we had an assigned space. In a way it was nice to have an assigned space as no one else could park there, but at the same time it sucked as we could only have one space per unit. :P

Yeah, it would have been nice if your apartment complexed planned for the idea to assign two parking spaces. It seems more likely for a household with more than one person to usually have more than one car.

we have 10 acres of land and a 2 car garage so parking isnt ever an issue for me it all depends on what time i get home if its late or i have groceries that need unloading i park at my front door for easy access other than that its in the garage!

House and Garage - My house and garage
I live out in the country, and I have a garage attached to my house. I would hate to have to park in the street at night. When I lived in Chicago, I had to park in the street, and there were times I couldn't find a spot close to the house. My car, and my neighbors cars were always getting broken into.

Yes, that's always a concern, and even more so when the car is in the street. People find it more convenient to steal. It's ridiculous.
