Okay, I think I've reached an all time low when it comes to starting silly discussions. I'm in the mood to start discussions. I'm out of profound topics. I'm out of informative topics. So, I'll share an interesting (or maybe not so interesting) fact about myself with you.
I can only wink one eye. I'm not sure why. I just can't wink my left eye. I am the only person that I know that has this problem. Except for my daughter. Oddly enough. She can't wink her right eye.
I think I first discovered this when someone was teaching me to shoot a rifle. I'm right handed, but I can't wink my left eye. This means it's difficult for me to look through the sight. Most of the time when I've tried shooting, I've had to do so left handed.

I can't wink my left eye either. I can barely wink my right eye for that matter. I'm very uncordinated with the left side of my body. Anytime I am doing any sort of aerobics and go to work that side of my body I always end up screwing up some how or feeling really awkward lol.

LOL I took an aerobics class ONCE. My friend teased me about it for a long time. We were young, but I was out of shape and uncoordinated. She was in the dance corps at her highschool. I was definetly outmatched.

I have run into people with this problem.I think that it's kind of funny to watch people trying to wink when they can't.The face gets all scrunched up and distorted..hehehe
I having a laugh at your expense MIAMI, Hope your not offended.
When you go shooting wear a patch over your left eye.

Do you mean wink or close one at a time. It is hard for me to do any of those. I can close my left one and keep my right one open. But if I try to close my right one and keep my left one open. my face squints up and looks real funny.
I can not wink my right eye at all either. I am sitting here trying. I am very, very glad that no one can see me. I can imagine how funny I look.

Don't worry miamilady, we can't always think up profound discussions...I've had a few wacky ones myself..and you know what? They usually got more responses than my deeper ones..go figure.
I guess I have a little oddity myself. Now I'm a photographer, and most people when they use a viewfinder type camera that is on most SLR types, or camcorder, they look through the finder with their right eye...me? Nope...left eye. Don't know why but I feel more comfortable that way, and I'm right handed..

i can't wink my left eye either. And i was fourteen when I trained myself to wink my right eye. Before that, I couldn't wink at all. I thought i was the only person like that. From the way my brothers made fun of me I was sure I was the only person like that!

I have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time. lol I always thought it was just a figure of speech until I almost choked on a mouthful of Big League chewing gum.

Okay...I can wink either eye, so I haven't heard of this one. How about this? Can you twist your tongue? LOL. Some things are genetic and I'm sure there are a lot of silly things out there.

Oh yeah...and can you lift just one eyebrow like Mr. Spock? I can lift my left eyebrow by itself, but not the right one.

Do you think that's bad? I cannot wriggle my ears. My mother could do it perfectly, she showed me how to do it, but I could not get the hang of it. I tried to use my mental powers, and concentrate, willing my ears, 'OBEY! WRIGGLE!" but they would not do it. For years, this problem plagued me. Other people can wriggle their ears, but not me. So do not feel bad because you cannot blink your left eye. Not being able to wriggle your ears is much worse.

I can't wiggle my ears either. My best friend when I was a child could wiggle her ears. I never could. I haven't met too many people who can. Of course, I don't go around asking people if they can. It doesn't come up in conversation too often.

Nope. That side of my face just won't cooperate. I've tried. I can't even get to the point of making funny faces. It just won't move if the other side doesn't.

Well honey I like this topic! I have to say I can't wink my right eye which is really quite good as all I can see out of my left eye are slight colours and blurry light! I have to say though that I don't think I could ewver try shooting so it doesn't really make much difference to me! xxx

My husband cant wink his left eye, hes right handed. I am right handed and can wink both eyes. We wink a lot at one another, and when I started doing either eye and he couldnt we just got into winking both eyes at one antoher. Sort of like a genie blink. lol It was funny to us, and sort of an inside joke. So in a way, the fact that he cant wink but one of his eyes brought something special between us. lol

Is it a disability, or you just can't do it? I know someone who can't wink right just because he can't do it he ends up just blinking.

Hello miamilady!(",)
So glad to see this discussion of yours because I can definitely relate to it. I can't wink my left eye alone. I can't close it either alone. With regards to eyebrows, I can't raise them separately either. I have so many things that I can't do. To name a few, I can't whistle; I can't roll my tongue. I think there the muscles that control the closing of my eyes is weak. It's okay for many because not being able to do these things doesn't mean I'm less humane, right?
Great day and God bless!(",)

I can, but it is not natural. I can only do it when I am trying to on purpose or am thinking about it. If it was to be a sudden wink, then it will happen in my right eye. I am right handed too. And for when shooting (as in shooting games on consoles and arcades), I usually close my right eye and use my left to aim.

Well, you are not alone, I can't wink my left eye either. I can only wink my right eye. I am right handed. I wonder if left handed people can only wink their left eye and right handed people their right eye. I don't know! What do you think the theory on that would be?

i have no problem about that cause i can wink both my eyes. maybe some people can't really do the same things like other people does. My husband can even move his ears without touching it and i don't know why i can't do it. So don't wonder if you can't wink your left eye, maybe you can do other things than that. have a nice day! :)

I can wink either eye. And I'm also honing my ambidextrous skills. I'm almost there, the only roadblock is legibility. Speed is fine though ;p
