I was diagnosed with "slightly high cholesteral" and am wondering what other have done to lower theirs. I do not need or wish to be on medication.
I usually walk three or more miles a day, and I have whole wheat toast with peanut butter/cheerois/Cream of Wheat/oatmeal for breakfast with a cup of milk and a pice of fruit.
Is there anything else that I should be doing?

I have lowered my own cholesterol to normal by having 2 tablespoons of Hodgson Mill milled flaxseed each day. I have taken omega 3 and omega 6 supplements in the past. Food rich in omega 3 and 6 are salmon and cod liver oils. I use the milled flaxed seeds in milkshakes, salads and ice cream. The nutty flavor comes out in ice cream. Make sure to drink lots of water with this fiber. Fiber also absorbs fat during digestion which also helps.
Eat a little good cholesterol too like avocado. Lowering stress levels will also lower bad cholesterol. Walking massages the heart as well as help to relieve stress.

Fish oil helps very much. A dr. told my brother that taking the supplements every day will lower your bad cholesterol about 10 points. And, if you eat fish too, that helps even more. There are some types of fish that are high in the Omega 3 oils. I don't know what they are off the top of my head. Except I do remember that tuna and tilapia are two of them. And, these are both readily available.
Also, don't eat much fried foods or cheese. My dr. told me that. LOL

I do not eat fish, but I do seafood. I wonder if that helps. Anyway, I can get the supplements.

Dear, you can do more by eating walnut 4 - 5 pieces a day which is found to reduce the cholesterol. Also, take decoction of cinnamon 2-3 times a week which also helps. More importantly, destress by doing breathing exercises.
Hope this helps.
