Hi Firends,Cows milk is highly nutritous food and full-fill almost all nutritution requirements of human body.
Since it does not procured by killing animals and does not consist of any animal part, being a pro milk drinker i cosider milk as a vegetarian food. A boon from the Animal world.what do you think?

Hi Mahesh! Cow'smilk comes out of the Cow and therefore I consider it as non-vegetarian. Egg is also a non-vegetarian food and those who proclaim egg as vegetarian forgets that if given time chicks can be hached out of it.
Talking of the nutritional value of milk one also tend to forget when milk is then pasteurized valuable enzymes are destroyed without which milk is very difficult to digest. The human pancreas is not always able to produce these enzymes; over-stress of the pancreas can lead to diabetes and other diseases.Fresh milk also is known to have cholesterol. Research says that Cow's milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It has been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne. It is the primary cause of recurrent ear infections in children. It has also been linked to insulin dependent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and leukemia. Moreover The body fat of cows which is already contaminated with a wide range of carcinogens, pesticides, dioxin, and antibiotic residues are transported into the cows' milk which makes things even worser.

There are different classifications of vegetarians and that is where people are confused.
Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian practice of not eating meat, poultry or fish, will eat eggs and milk products. This is the most 'popular' form of Vegetarianism in many Western countries
Lacto Vegetarian Will eat milk products
Strict vegetarian originally meant vegan, now can mean vegan or vegetarian.
Vegan excludes animal flesh meat, poultry, fish and seafood, animal products eggs and dairy, and usually excludes honey and the wearing and use of animal products leather, silk, wool, lanolin, gelatin.
Dietary Vegan follows a vegan diet, but doesn't necessarily try and exclude non-food uses of animals.

I support sreejith's opinion that there is nothing in this universe which can be named as pure vegetarian.Cow's milk comes from cow which should make it non vegetarian. Moreover the bodyfat of cow is transported to the milk too which definitely makes it a non-vegetarian food.

Cows milk is vegetarian but not vegan. It is still animal product. I believe cows milk is meant for calves not humans. The cows have to be kept pregnant and often are injected with many hormones and antibiotics to keep producing large amounts of milk.
I prefer use soy, rice, or almond milk.

I'm not a vegetarian, even if I try to avoid, when I can, to eat animal derivate foods in general, and the reason is that I can't stand the idea of hurting animals and alive beings.
I don't think that consuming milk can be considered hurting animals and so I happily drink it! So I can tell you that I completely agree with your point of view.
good bye my lot friend

Milk is vegetarian food since it is obtained without killing or cooking any part of the animal. In hinduism it is considred as one of the purest, healthiest and holiest liquids on the earth. That is the reason why it is used in worshippings and offerings to god.

I was told that vegetarians in my place are divided into 3 categories: pure vegetarian takes only vegetables, no milk and egg. Whereas the second catagory takes vegetable, milk and all kinds of foods contain milk but no egg.
The rest take vegetables, milk, egg, and foods that contain milk and egg.

Hello there. I believe milk is a vegetarian food. Baby cows drink milk to grow up. Cows are considered herbivores not omnivores. If milk is a non-vegetarian food, then cows should be considered an omnivore not herbivore because they drink milk and eat grass.
