Do you like books? Do you collect a certain kind?

My husband said recently I was buying books like I was trying to start a library! I realized that I tend to buy a lot of books sometimes. And they are usually of a certain type. I might be in the Star Trek mood and buy just those. Or, I might be interested in reading Christian fiction and buy just that. He collects cookbooks. I have collected wedding cake decorating books, as that is what I do for a living and like to see the newest designs. But I also tend to collect Bibles and have many of many different translations. What do you like to collect?

It really depends on my mood. I had all my books shipped over to Scotland when I moved here. I am a true book worm. I will read just about anything. I do like a good mystery or spookies. Our next house will need an extra bedroom that I can have as a library. I have well over 2000 books.

Goodness you do have a library of books with having 2000 books. So have you read them all? Are you a quick reader?

I have read almost all of them. It depends on what I m reading as to whether or not I am a quick reader. I did read Gone with the Wind in a day and a half. If it is really good, I won't put it down till I have finished reading it.

Oh I have had so many books! When we had to move to this much smaller place I really hated the fact that I would not have the room for all of them. I had to give a lot of them away.I like to read any Stephen King books,as well as Patricia Cromwell, Robin Cook and John Nance. I also read the "Left Behind" series as well as the "Da Vinci Code". I also like books about people or some non fictions.

I won't lie, I have a large collection of books and most are in boxes. Some I have given to swaps and such. Some I've gotten as well. I love to read and I cherish a book big time.

I do have a room converted into a library, and I always have a couple of new books to read. Right now, I'm reading Brother Odd, the third in a group of books based on a fictional character called Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I like thrillers and sci-fi, and I collect all sorts of cookbooks. I also have a large collection of nursing books from when I was in school. I have a whole shelf full of craft books for things I'd like to try someday. Whenever I go to garage sales, books are the first thing I'll look at.

I love to buy books particularly the science fiction/fantasy kind. I tend to buy science fiction/fantasy books of my favorite authors. I also buy books of my profession to keep me updated. :)

Have you ever played that video game on the Playstation One console called "Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare"? Well, I want to set up a library like on that game. Well, maybe just a large room for the library, not three stories like on the game. That would be nice though. I wanna have different sections for different types of books. I have mostly fantasy books, horror books and religion books. I have many 500 or more paperback books from the library. We could take the paperback books that were donated to the library for free, which is where I got most of them from.

Oh I have hundreds of books - loads of them I haven't read yet but I still keep buying them unfortunately! Actually I buy anything that interests me, there isn't one particular genre really although I like biographies and travel books so I do have a lot of them. I'm quite partial to mysteries as well though, I love Agatha Christie type stuff. It occurred to me when reading your post though that I have six bibles on my bookshelves which, as I'm not a believer, some people might find odd lol! Five were given to me when I was a child and one I bought myself at a second-hand bookstore because it's beautifully bound and illustrated. I do buy quite a lot of old books, they have a certain character I think.

I am the same way. My book rack looks as bad as a library. I have books on health. I also read a lot of horror books like Stephen King, Dean Koonts and most recently Iris Johnsen.

I collect all different kinds of books as I like to read all kinds of stuff. I have a Halloween kids book collection as well as Halloween decorating. I love Halloween 365 days of the year. I also enjoy a good mystery or paranormal romance.

I have a whole bunch of the classics, Dickens, O'Henry, Bronte, Lewison, and I have a few romantic books, but I love mystery, and suspense. I also have a whole lot of How to Write books, but I have not gotten any for such a long time, budgets and not much time to read what i already have. If I had the money I would like to collect Christian fantasy and mystery and suspense, with a military flavor or a science fiction bent. But I do not like anything with that much swearing in them.

If there is an author I like, I want to have all of his/her books in hardback on my bookshelf. I prefer hardback book over softcover for any of hte books I buy.

I've had to cut down on my book buying habits a lot in the past few years. I used to belong to every book club imaginable. Then it dawned on me, heck, if I really want to read a latest bestseller just go to the library for it. But you should see my collection of books I do have. I've been collecting books for well over thirty years and no doubt have thousands. My bookcases are crammed to overflowing, have book shelves all over the place, and my so -called linen closet has one shelf devoted to linens while the other shelves have, yes, you can guess, books! I have science books, history, anthropology, and on and on. The only books I do buy now though are those that I might want to re-read over again. I'm a great fan of children's/young adult books, and love getting a few self-help, goal setting kind of books, and many times will get at Amazon.com as they can be real cheap there

Esterlou I do not collect books. I do read paperback books that I are given to me or I buy used. I then trade with friends. I collect teapots. I have over 200 teapots. I love my collection. MY teapot collection was packed away for three years and now is out for viewing. My husband bought me shelves that he is going to put up for me this weekend to display them properly. I then bought three little teapots today. They where 99 cents apiece at the dollar tree. I have them displayed on a little shelf that I had put up a few weeks ago. I will take photos one of these days of my collection.

I love books and like you I have a great collection of bibles and Christian based books. I have some very old books that were my mothers and I also have a book that was given to me by a very old neighbour when I was young, it is 110 years old now and is called "schoolmates" a book with poems, short stories, competitions etc. It is a bit tatty but I still love to read the short stories in it.

I think it's very intristing to collect books ,so ,when I go outside ,I always got many books like story books and picture books ,maybe some people will think it would waste our time , even time ,but when we think deeply ,we will see that it is very intristing ,hehe!
