Wow! Guinness World Records calls it the worlds most expensive desert! "The dessert is a frozen, slushy mix of cocoas from 14 countries, milk and 5 grams of 24-carat gold topped with whip cream and shavings from a La Madeline au Truffle...served in a goblet with a band of gold decorated with 1 carat of diamonds and served with a golden spoon diners can take home." The dessert was created by Serendipity 3 in New York. You can always find the best stuff in New York!

That sounds delicious. I think I'll have a double serving everyday this week. Oh... wait a minute. I'm diabetic. Guess I won't have any afterall!

You would just have to take out the gold and give the sweet stuff to your pup..I am sure he wouldnt mind a treat..My cats love vanilla ice cream..so I am sure dogs also have a sweet tooth.

Great idea about giving the sweets to my dog. Next time I'm in NYC, that's exactly what I'll do.
As to self control and diabetes, I'm lucky in that eating sweets actually makes me feel "funny" and sort of ill. It is unpleasant for me to go off my diet, so I can't take a lot of credit for staying on my diet. The only way for me to feel normal is to not eat sweets, starches, and alchohol.

are you to eat teh gold and diamonds?
I found no pic of this desert on the page that you had here. and thats so rediculous to spend that much money on one desert when some people can live on that for a year.
I would just hate to live in New york City way to expensive.

Absolutely rediculous. If someone spent $25,000 for this dessert, then I feel sorry for them when that money would be better put to use in feeding the hungry, or providing shelter for the homeless. Need I go on?

Must be nice to be super-rich. Personally I cant see spending that much on desert, even if I had the money.

You would have to be so incredibly rich to think nothing of spending that much money on just a dessert! I can't even imagine it.

that's absolutely ridiculous... if i have that much money, i won't spend it on the desert... i will give it to my parents and family, the needy or pay off my debts... my stomach just can't take it eating such an expensive desert...

Wow i do not believe to many of those will be sold to the average Joe...I guess im a little weird, because even if i had lots and lots of money to burn , to me this would be considered a waste of money to me.I just could not make myself buy this dessert..

LOL which comes to prove that there is too many people with too much money !:)
WOudl I spend that money on a dessert? Not even if I had that amount many times over. It's pure indulgence and quite a selfish one at that.
Plus I don't even like to eat with a gold spoon = it leaves a metallic taste that I don't like LOL
If each of the people that will have that dessert, got together and sponsored a child's education, helped with the health bills of people who can't afford it, gave to a food bank, or many of other things that are in such need... then they would really be having something golden : their heart

ummmmmmm no thank you. If I had that kind of money to just blow on something like that, I would give it to several charities who could really make good use of the money.

Ridiculous! That's all I can think of. We could feed a small country with that money. I live in NY and see all the homeless people on the streets, they could be fed also...Like they say...only in NY!

Who on Earth would buy such a thing? I couldn't imagine gold actually tasting good... especially when it comes out the other end and down the drain, it's definitely a waste.
And do people have to pre-order the dessert in months advance? Since I don't think they'd casually store those kinds of ingredients and it'd take a while to be able to gather them all up.
Seriously, if anybody actually buys that, they should spend it more wisely... like giving it to me!
