I mean how clumsy are you? I can't believe I have done this tonight and I am steaming, what a prize idiot I am!
I have only had my new computer for three weeks and tonight whilst drinking a glass of water, guess what I do? I knock it over and some of it spills onto the keyboard.
Yes, you've guessed it the keyboard is now damaged and won't work properly, the space bar is knackered and the shift key doesn't work!
Short of screaming, thankfully I have a spare keyboard, but the new one is only three weeks old
Is that CLUMSY or what?
Do you reckon the shop will replace it? Or will they know that water has been spilt on it, therefore my fault?
I thought it was only coffee and sticky drinks that damaged keyboards, it was only water!!!
So how clumsy are you on the clumsy scale?!
I think tonight I award myself a 10 for being so utterly clumsy!

Hi Wolfie,
Id say Im pretty clumsy. lol So sad to say, but its true. Hubby sees me with a knife, he immediately takes over, had a few accidents. haha Walking through a doorway, I tend to hit my wrist or arm or literally walk into it. Ive slipped and fell so many times in public, and that is the most embarassing. I think on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say Im an 8!
Im not sure if you could take the keyboard back or not, I have a feeling that they might just give you another. Just say that the those two keys stopped working. Im sure that its not a real costly part and they will glady replace it. Wont hurt to try right?

Awesome!! Glad to hear that. It probably just needed to dry up! They will do that as long as its water and you dont use it before its time. hehe

Oh that is nothing. I made brownies, while cutting them I slipped with the knife, stabbed myself in the hand. Had to have surgery to re-attach the nerve endings.
Now that is clumsy!

Awww my darling what a shame! I think the shop might replace it but I am not sure - I know that most mobile phones have a small strip in them that will react with liquid so that they know if a fault has been caused by liquid damage but with keyboards I doubt it!
As for being clumsy , well all I will say is like brother like sister and the kids are just as bad! lol

well, i think i can be clumsy as well at times... fortunately, not too bad... anyway, i am sorry about what happen to you... i don't think the shop will replace it... it is entirely your fault and they are not obligated to replace it... anyway, it is worth a try... if you spill any liquid to an electronic equipment, it will definitely ruin the electronic... including water... good luck anyway...

More or less exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. My husband gave me some Baileys to drink while I was playing a computer game. A mosquito came along and I tried to push it away, spilling the drink all over my keyboard! I wiped it it all and crossed my fingers till the morning, but that was the end, not only of the keyboard, but also the whole computer, as it was a laptop! My nephew, who lives in Spain, is good with computers, so we packed my computer and sent it off to him. They tell me he put it all apart and cleaned it, but never put it all back together again! I reckon your water was nothing compared to my sticky, sweet Baileys!

I'm pretty clumsy and I've actually done that bit with the computer keyboard twice (Plus my cat did it once). Only difference is I did it with coffee both times. Once I had to replace the keyboard but the other time it dried out okay and worked fine. If you give it a couple fo times to dry out, you might get lucky and it will be fine....I'm about an 8 or 9 on the clumsy scale. I've seen a few people worse than me but not many.

I am halfway there. I have to be extra careful, so I put everything far back enough so I do not catch it with my elbow. One time I spilled coffee on the keyboard so I worked very quickly, wiping off the keyboard, drying it turning it upside down --keyboard is fine. Another time, I was drinking tea or coffee and knocked it on the carpet. So I as far as clumsiness is, I am very dangerous.

Nah, you are not clumsy.
I just think it is an accident.
I am not a clumsy person and have spilled my share of drink too. Fortunately, the spills had been on the mouse.
Spilling on the keyboard would be more disastrous. :P

I have times when I am very clumsy..
When I was first dating my soon to be X I was walking across the street when he yelled. I looked over and yelled that I would come over. I stepped off the curb between to cars and my clog hit a stone and down I went..I jumped back up as fast as I could..I looked over and we both burst out laughing...He later said I was looking at him the disappeared!

That is rotten luck, wolfie! I have heard that you might be able to dry them out with a blow dryer. Anyway, it's worth a try. I'm afraid I go to the head of the class myself when it comes to being clumsy. I'm not quite as bad as I used to be, but I am very careful at all times.

Sorry to hear your keyboard is a mess. Hopefully by now you had it replaced.
I am not a big clumsy BUT, a couple of months ago I spilled a regular soda right into the keyboard. It was ruined and went in the trash. I did replace it with a waterproof keyboard. Am not going to test it but am really careful now where I put drinks.

OH Man, That is not good!
When I dont feel well, I get clumsy. Usually, I am not so bad though. A few weeks ago, I had fluid on my ears and kept walking into walls. That was no fun.

May I be your queen of clumsy?
You know what they say is the bigger they are the harder they fall. Well at a whopping 5'10' I fall real hard! And it is totally not the graceful lady like oops, but the all out sprawl down, limbs flying all over the place wipe outs. I have so many scars from my clumsiness. I took up skating a couple of years ago and I look so silly cause I am going around trying not to fall because gracefulness has been omitted from my DNA.
