Results of my upper endoscopy

I had my appointment with my surgeon this morning to go over the results of the upper endoscopy (a camera being shoved down the throat, for those of you that aren't sure what I'm talking about). Great news....everything turned out fine! I was a bit worried, because right after the procedure, the surgeon told me that she had seen some red tissue at the bottom of my stomach. Turned out that the red was from the way things sometimes look on the screen that the doctor is watching during the procedure. A couple of biopsies were done and everything was fine. Now, hopefully, this will help to expedite my weight loss surgery now that I have all the tests out of the way. Thank you all for being so wonderful and supportive to me through all of this. You are very much loved and appreciated. Hugs to everyone!

Wonderful news. I had no idea all kinds of tests needed to be done before weight loss surgery but guess it makes alot of sense. Do you have an approximate date set up for the surgery? I wish you the very best of luck with the actual surgery.
Have a Merry Christmas,

Awww....thank you both so much. You are awesome friends. My surgery is tentatively scheduled for April 3. But I have my second appointment with the dietitian on January 4, and if I pass the quiz that she gives (to make sure we know what it's all about and what will be expected of us), they will probably move up the date sooner. I will let everyone know after that appointment if there has been a change or not. Hugs to you both.

hi kat! ^__^
its nice to know that everything went well for you. that endoscopy test sounded so scary. how did it feel to have something shoved down in your throat?? weren't you scared or something? did it hurt?
anyway, i hope your weight loss surgery would be as successful as your tests and i hope it will give you the best results you are expecting. ^__^ goodluck!

I was so stressed out over the whole thing. But it turned out that getting the IV in was the worst part. The surgeon that did the procedure used really good sedatives....so good in fact that I didn't even feel the tube when she told me to swallow, and I was out like a light. I was sore in my throat and esophagus afterward, and my jaw hurt a bit too, but that was it. Thank you so much for the well wishes hon. Hugs!

Oh my boodness YES, I know what alamode means when saying "You'd think it was my surgery", I'm so scared of surgery it's pathetic. There is lots I would like to know about your surgery and how heavy a person has to be to have it done and so on and so forth but what's the point, I'd die from fear before they put me to sleep. You can be blessed you have the courage to do this. Glad about the test results. I had a good feeling about it. Prayer was answered again. Blessings Katlady2

I know I'll be very nervous on the day of the surgery, but I think the excitement will outweigh it. LOL! Thanks my friend. If you just want to check out everything about the surgery, you can go to www.obesityhelp.com. They have all sorts of stuff about it. Here's the link to the website of the hospital where I'll be having it done:

I know you said you're too scared of the surgery, and I don't blame you for that because it is a pretty risky and complicated one. But I just wanted you to have the info on it to store away in your brain. Hugs to you hon.

Thank You for your kindness. I'm happy for you but because of the person I am I'm concerned which is normal for me. I do care however and ask that you keep me in the loop as to how you are and how surgery goes. Thank You.
