I heard the same thing..in Michigan, gas prices are to reach $4.00 a gallon?
What causes this to occur, in yo ur opinion?

They say it is because of the price of a barrel of oil keeps going up. But it just seems like greed doesn't it.

I just went and filled p the car today and in Wisconsin where I live regular unleaded gas is $3.07. I just have a small chevy cavalier which used to cost like 18-20 dollars to fill up the gas tank. Today when I went I still had a quarter of a tank full and it took me over thirty dollars just to fill up three quarters of tank.

Here in North TX - we are paying about the same as you are - but hubby just got back from a fishing trip in OR and he said the prices were really close to $4.00 and when they hit CA - they were well over $4.00!!!
And from hearing recent estimates from the so called oil experts - they say we will probably hit $4.00 here in TX sometime this year!!!
With the continued rise in gas prices as well as food and all the other things - it's no wonder so many people are having a hard time paying the bills these days!!!

In Chicago we have $3.19-$3.39....
Driving around the city is so costly plus, all prices are up because of gas cost...

In Brisbane, Australia the fuel ranges from $1.20 to $1.38 per litre. It costs me about $60 to fill my car up with petrol and that lasts me almost 2 weeks. $60 australian is about $50-55 US. I am seriously considering buying a motorbike. My fiance has a bike and it costs him $13 to fill it up. I heard on the news that prices could rise to above $3 within the next few years. If that is the case I will definitely be purchasing a motorbike to get around on. I think that a lotmore people will be riding bikes too. Soon Australian roads will look like Chinese roads with all the bikes!

Its $3.45 where I'm at (with some fluctuations).
I believe there was a report of $3.60 at a couple of places.
I still have to wonder how high will it go. I predicted a year earlier that it would easily reach $4 for some states. Now I'm extending that to a lot of states. Multiple factors play into it, but no matter what, its a grim picture. A few reports: Police/local governments have already shut down individual gas stations for having lower prices and generating excessive crowds.

Its not just for monopolization, it also a safety issue.
Cities and towns cannot have lines of cars trying to get gasoline spilling out into the open road. It blocks traffic and accidents are likely to occur.
A co-worker witnessed two stations like this. He also noted that it was just like the 70s and that gasoline crisis.

I hate the gas prices now...I really do because they are so high and its like a lose lose for everyone because you have to have gas to get to work and then you have to have gas to get to the store or something like that(unless you live close enough to just walk to the place)I think its like three dollars and something where i live
