I do several things from home. I am a rep for Stuff-N-Snuggle and Kat's Coffees & More and am looking at opening my own internet store for children's clothing. I also am a waha, a work at home (call) agent. I take calls at home and process orders.

HI. I STARTED TO SELL YVES ROCHER PRODUCTS LAST YEAR IN APRIL TO HELP A COLLEGUE, BUT I WAS SKEPTICAL. AS I KNOW LOTS OF PEOPLE, I SHOWED THEM THE CATALOGUE AND I STARTED TO RECEIVE ORDERS (NOT VERY BIG, BUT NOT SO BAD TO START WITH). WHAT I WANTED TO DO FROM THE BEGINNING IS CREATE GROUP OF RESELLERS AND IN JUST A BIT MORE THAN ONE YEAR I REACHED THE SECOND GROUP WITH 25 RESELLERS. THIS BRAND IS VERY WELL KNOWN AND PEOPLE LIKE IT AS IT'S NOT VERY EXPENSIVE. YOU HAVE TO CHECK IN YOUR COUNTRY, AS I KNOW THAT IN MANY PLACES THESE PRODUCTS ARE SOLD IN THEIR OWN SHOPS, WHILE HERE IN PORTUGAL THEY ARE ONLY SOLD THROUGH CATALOGUE. THE COMMISSION IS JUST A BIT MORE THAN 30% (WHILE HERE AVON ONLY PAYS 20%). MARY KAY IS ALSO GOOD, BUT YOU HAVE TO INVEST SOME MONEY IN BUYING PRODUCTS AND LOT OF PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE EXPENSIVE (WHICH IS TRUE). FOR THIS KIND OF SALES YOU MUST KNOW MANY PEOPLE, THEN YOU CAN START GOING AROUND VISITING SHOPS AND LEAVING A CATALOGUE. IN PORTUGAL IT'S EASY TO SELL THESE PRODUCTS BECAUSE ALMOST EVEBODY KNOWS THEM AND THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE MARKET FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS. DON'T SELL SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW. BE SURE OF THE PRODUCTS YOU ARE OFFERING AND FIND ONLY THE GOOD ONES, EVEN IF THE COMMISSION IS LOWER, BECAUSE IT'S BETTER TO EARN LESS, BUT HAVE GOOD AND REGULAR CLIENTS, WHO ARE SATISFIED WITH WHAT THEY BUY.
GOOD LUCK.

I work a full-time job outside the home. I also have a couple of part-time jobs that I do from home. I teach for an online school. All of that work is done at home. I am also about to begin a couple of other part-time positions from home.

If you can do support in the business-to-business (b2b) arena, it's usually easier to get business, since companies tend to have bigger budgets for items than consumers. I would shy away from anything where you have to get a bunch of inventory (mary kay/avon), unless you really love it and have a ready client base to plug it in to.
If you don't have formal sales or marketing training, that's another area to consider so you don't waste money.
I teach an internet research program that could be helpful to you in exploring your options. Contact me if you have further interest.
