Do you have anything to say about this?
Back then, it was just a threat to scientist, biologists, and freak nerds who care too much for other living creatures. But now, the threat has become more and more serious. With weather changes, animals dying (close to extinction), natural calamities, people dying, plus the undying terrorism, don't you think you should give a damn just right about now?
I am not really that person who cares too much but with all these things happening, I believe we should all agree to give a damn about this thing before it gets worse.

It annoys me that it has taken so long for environment issues to be taken seriously. I have known all my life of the dangers of pollution, the harm we do to the world and the way we destroy our natural resources. Only recently have governments started to do anything about it, yet most world leaders are the same age or older than I am, so they should have been aware of these issues and tried to do something sooner.
'Global Warming' is just another name for long term damage to the environment, which is now becoming more evident because of climate change.

LOL. It´s quite funny that we are JUST talking about the environment AND THEN started shoving political issues and the government right in. We may as well consider those on another discussion.

I do know about the natural changes in the earth's climate but it is also a fact that pollution poisons the land and the removal of trees creates deserts and people are becoming sick and dying because of poor air quality, extreme heat and other weather conditions which are the result of the way we treat the planet.

None of the recent climate change has anything to do with pollution.
The earth is simply following a natural cycle that it has done many many times before.
All of the goverments/world leaders finding's are biased and one sided as they want to get more taxes from you.
When scientists look at stuff like the ice/soil/rocks that show how are climate has previously been it will show that are climate has incresed/decreased since earth began. Only these scientists cann't publish this as then the goverments will loose out on so called "green taxes".

i've asked my father this same question, and he says that it is a threat
to scientists, which he said back years ago, they had a thing called the
global freezing going on, and he said, did it ever come? No. so, i agree with my father since he does keep up with alot of this political speaches
and wotnot. i don't think there ever will be a global warming, as it was said about the global freezing. i think they are trying to be mean to the
scientits for some reason i don't know why though.

But don't you think that global warming is actually happening right now, making us feel its presence with all these natural disasters? Maybe, it's no longer just a threat but the real deal.

A big yes to that.Only a few people are trying to help the environment. But the top 3 countries guilty of that denies that they're guilty and still go on with their nature destructive ways.I wish that they'd be the one to die first. If it's too late for the world.

Well even if I'm not an Einstein, I can see this serious matter on a small-scale scenario. For one and on a personal note, I used to always need a blanket each time I take a nap during midday or sleep at night. And mind you, not just any type of blanket but a thick one to be exact; even if it's not a cool day or even if the fan is switched off. And my parents and siblings know this habit of mine very well. But ever since the climate has drastically warmed up, I almost consider a blanket very useless; to the point of thinking that wearing skimpy clothes at night are necessary. Another personal observation, I used to have no problems with my skin. I know for a fact that all people get old and same is true with our skin; but even if I go the extra mile now to care for my skin, these agents seem to have no positive effect with the skin anymore. Plus, there are more and more skin problems arising nowadays. And I feel that global warming is one of the culprits here. Like almost everyone here on this planet, I am very worried about the effects of this matter, not only now but also for the future aftermaths if this won't be resolved earlier.
I've been a busy head these past several years just like a lot of other people are; but I still haven't checked the Holy Scriptures yet regarding this phenomenon. Naturally, I am fascinated by teachings written on the Bible; especially the warnings to the world on the book of Revelation.
I really think the world has severely damaged the wonderful place given by God and this is the karma or the wrath we all have to endure and solve or reverse.

There are hundreds of documentaries on the subject and yet most of the people continue to be apathetic. They go on with their pretty little lives without any consideration how gravely their lifestyles affect the environment. After watching quite a number of documentaries on global warming, I decided I'd do my part like reducing energy consumption by turning my PC off every night (I'd usually leave it on for weeks!), closing the faucet while brushing my teeth (I used to leave the water running until I'm done), reducing paper waste by using both sides of the paper for printing stuff, walking instead of driving to short distances. These are little things anyone is capable of doing but imagine if thousands of people start doing it too. It's should account for something, right?

I´m sure it´s really helpful and very considerate of you to do so. I don´t mean to imply that I am very good in conserving what we have. I just think, too, that doing your part won´t hurt, right?

a big Amen to that. My country is getting conscious and aware of that which i'm quite happy (considering we're a third world). I joined the greenpeace as well which makes me more aware. thumbs up for you

U r right. Global warming is a very big invinsible threat which is coming very fast and it will affect us bitterly. Ice are melting faster then expected. Co2 and other deadly gases are increasing. Men are using up all trees and natural resources which is making the situation much worse.
Developed Countries will be less affected and under developed countries will be highly affected.
Many Islands will disappear under the sea.

I am not sure if global warming is the right term for it. It's definitely climate change, drastic climate changes and its scary when you think about it. It is time that we all give a damn. I keep thinking of "The Day After Tomorrow" and I wonder if this is what we are experiencing, but on a much slower pace. Scary when you think about it.

I'm actually afraid of global warming. It could make the sea water level rise, I leave in a country surrounded by oceans and there are some provinces whose land areas became smaller due to the increase in sea level.
People who don't give a damn are just too lazy to pick up their own trash and lets somebody do it for them. Come on and try to visit the south part of asia and you'll know what global warming really is, maybe the they will be concerned to the environment.

sometimes we really dont realize this kinda thing. i think that it is just because we are not scientist, biologists etc. in our daily life, we scarly notice our entirment change day by day. but when the weather get warmer, animals die or become extinct, we will realize it happen so next to us. ,,,
um,,,deep topic..

With serious flaws in the global warming arguments pointed out by many prominent skeptics, such as the creator of the Weather Channel, I am not concerned.
This last winter drove average temperatures down .7 degrees Celsius, which is back down to the level in 1930. This new development may be linked with a period of minimal sunspots. If that trend continued for 20 years, the corresponding drop of 14 degrees Celsius, which could cause glacial advancement.
I am however not saying that will happen. I'm just pointing out that the concept of predicting global climate trends based on human interaction with the environment is ludicrous. Our impact on the planet is minimal. 1 Winter of lesser solar activity lessens the average temperature by about a three-quarter century of rising temperatures

Maybe the green house gas can explain this phenomena, you know, carbon dioxide(CO), nitrogen oxide(NOx) etc. which are emission from industry develpment. Companies and scientists should keep a close eye on this, to reduce pollution, and we shouldn't develop at the cost of healthy environment.

Hey kornflakes.
Sure pollution hurts the environment but what about global warming? Global warming is earth's natural cycle, believe it or not. Human greenhouse gas emmissions and carbon dioxide emmisions aren't contributing to it. Global warming is likely to have a net benefit, as past warmings have? What did I just say? Global warming has occured in the past? Sure it has. During the medieveal warm period temperatures were high, even higher than they are now. Yet people prospered from this warming. Earth also goes into stages of cooling, called global cooling. The truth is, earth's climate is always changing, whether mankind is there or not.

Well to be honest I'm not looking forward to it.. The weather is changing and changing and it's a bit annoying. It's crazy. I'm a sports type guy and I simply love staying outside. And the weather makes me really angry sometimes.. A few years ago every year looked the same.. Winter 2-3 months cold with snow, you can go skiing and so on. And then Spring and hot summer when you can do many sports outside. And at the moment you have no idea whether it will be snowing in spring or it will be hot in winter.

I am not sure what there is to say about it! We have always had weather changes, animals dying (even to distinction), natural calamities, and people dying. These are all a very natural part of life, nothing new here. However, I am not sure why you are connecting Terrorism with Global Warming? I do believe that Terrorism is a real threat and Global Warming is not. And should we be concerned about Terrorism...you bet.
