What a lovely evening we had tonite and I want to share it. I was on the phone with my daughter when I got a peep it was a friend we hadn't seen in a long time and they'd been out for supper and were told I had got hurt. In this little town you don't sneeze without everyone knowing. Anyway they went home and got thinking maybe they should call and they did. He asked if they could come by for coffee. I was surprized because as I say we hadn't seen them for some time and they live a piece out of town so with the gas prices no one goes anywhere. I was thrilled to say Yes come on down. Coffee is always on here. We sat and played cards. We tried wizard and is that ever a lot of fun. They're younger than we are but just as crazy and we had a very enjoyable evening. Just wanted to share.

Thank-you for sharing this nice story Grandma and good to know you are feeling better. Its' the little things in life that are worth more than wealth and what you have just passed on here in myLot is part of it. Being crazy is not such a bad thing these days and obviously the time you spent together makes it all worth while.

It sounds like a great old fashioned evening. The kind my family used to have when we would visit families out of town for us. Coffee, visiting, games and cards. It is an old time, comforting way of life.

That was very thoughtful of them, they heard what happened and they thought they should come by and see about you....that shows they are concerned, and they know how hard it is when you are shut in and really do not feel like getting out....I am so glad you all had a nice evening..Things like this helps a lot when you are sick..

Fantastic! I loved hearing of your evening. How nice for them to take the initative to come by. I find around here people just don't do that. I was the one that would make sure to stay in touch from time to time. Every one I visit the story is the same. Nobody visits us. We feel left out. After awhile I realized I was about the only one who did these drop in phone calls or plan for a few days ahead to come by. I find it just so frustrating. Not many years ago dropping by a freinds out, making that quick call and planning get togethers was a priority in life. People have made themselves so busy they have no time for friends I guess and I hate to say it but I have joined the club. I think I just got bitter over the whole thing. People say yes yes lets get together but they never do unless I go the whole distance to make it happen. Shame on me! Shame on everyone sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring! For the most part do people in your town still drop by for that cup of tea/coffee and chat just like the old days?

It must have been a weekend for finding old friends!
My friend showed up at my place of employment with her grandnieces. I haven't seen her in years. She gave me her phone number and I gave her mine. We will be calling and catching up soon.
