Do you weigh yourself everyday?

I am just one of those folks that do not. However, my husband recently purchased a scale and I've been standing on it everyday. I just had a baby and throughout my pregnancy, I just wanted to know how much I was growing. Now, I want to know if the weight I put on is coming off! For awhile, stepping on the scale was kind of a disappointment, but the weight is slowly coming off. Do you weigh yourself on a regular basis? Do you do it to make sure you maintain a certain weight or do you do it to see the numbers go up/down?

No I do not weigh myself as I have no scales to jump onto. I do get weighed once a year on my annual check up amongst other checks that need to be recorded. Have a great life from Deeeky

It used to be that way with me also. My husband just recently got this scale because he wanted to keep track of his weight. Then I got pregnant and it was fun to see the weight come on. It's a little harder to get it off.

I weigh myself about once a week. I don't know why I bother sometimes. It is not like the numbers on the scale ever go down. Maybe I am checking to make sure it does not go up.

Yep, as long as it doesn't go up, at least not too much. My MIL came to visit recently and she's got a sweet tooth. I guess I do also sine I gained almost 10 lbs in 9 days!

I do as part of my morning routine. I think half the time I don't even pay attention to the reading. I pretty much stay at the same, it changes by about 2 pounds depending on the time of the month and what I did the night before!

No, I never weigh myself. I don;t really care about the number on the scale, as long as I am confortable with the way I look and feel.

That's good that you can be happy with yourself. I think more folks need to be more like that and be happy with themselves. Especially teens these days. I have 2 boys and when I think about all the worries girls go through, I'm glad I do not have to deal with it. Actually, if I had girls, I would raise them to be comfortable in their bodies and to have a high self esteem. Exactly how we are going to raise our boys. It seems your parents did a good job in making you feel secure with yourself.

No I don't.I find itself defeating. And then I do worse. I find I reach my goals a little better if I DON'T CONCENTRATE on it daily. But that's just me.

Yeah, I guess you are right. It has been 4 months now since my son was born and my weight is slowly coming off. SLOWLY! I have stopped getting on the scale everyday though. Could it be because I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off?

It's so funny that you ask this today because it has been on my mind. We recently started my husband on a new diet as he has reached 295 lbs as of his last doctor visit and now we are realizing that we don't even own a scale. lol So the easy answer to this is no we don't. We can't. However we are going to purchase a scale this month. I still don't think we will weigh any of us every day but we will probably weigh ourselves once a week just to chart his progress and keep an eye on the health of the rest of our family.

That's exactly why we bought our scale. My husband wanted to start getting into shape since a friend of ours lost a ton of weight. He got one and I've been on it ever since-over a year now!

I didn't have a home scale for a long time, but weighed myself at the gym. Well, I got sick of having to go the gym at the same time everyday to weigh myself, so I bought a cheap home scale. I weigh myself twice a day. When I was younger, I used to get upset at every little weight gain and would weigh myself all the time and I didn't want to get into that type of mindframe again. So far, everything seems fine. If I'm not watchful of my weight, I will gain too much without knowing it, so I like to make sure I don't let it get too high.

Isn't it weird how that can happen? Ever since I've reached a certain age, it's been harder to control. I am not overweight, but I have a soft spot for overweight/obese people. Maybe a lot of them can help prevent getting to their size, but it's hard when you feel so down about yourself. Folks like us just cannot imagine. Could you imagine how upset it makes them?

I don't because I don't have a set of scales at my house. When I go to my mother's house I weigh myself just out of curiosity and I've foiund that my weight fluctuates just about hourly! I find it really hard to put on weight but when I do it only takes a day or two to lose it again. i really have no need for scales so i guess I'lm lucky that I don't really care what I weight. I'm usually around the 50kgKG mark.

Oh wow, I used to in my twenties. I used to make sure I did it first thing in the morning rite after my bathroom break. Would wear as little clothes as possible. The scale determined what kind of day I would have. Down, great. Up, bummer. As I got older the vanity of the daily weigh wore off. Now I'm in my fifties, want to get the extra pounds off so I do weigh myself more often. Not everyday. Firstly the eyesight is not so good and I don't have a digital scale. And, I have ms with balance problems so when I step on the scale and hold on to the sink or the door handle, it is lower than if I don' hold on. Very frustrating!

No I do not wiegh myself everyday as my weight is basically constant. I am on the small/petite side so I am not so concerned about weight gain. I would be though if I got pregnant. I too would want keep check of the wieght I gain and then how quickly I lose it following pregnency.

I dont even have a set of scales in my house,so the only time that i ever weigh myself is when i go to my daughters ,which isnt very often,im none too bothered about standing on scales all of the time. But I can see that if you have just had your baby then you may well be glad to see those few extra pounds come off,..or maybe you have got rid of them now anyway.I suppose when i was younger i used to watch my weight, and i had a set of scales then,so i must have stepped on them from time to time.My daughter has some of those electonic scales, and you have to step on themand then step off of them to reset them, then you step back on again!!!,and then when i look at what they are telling me ,I just dont like it anyway!!!

I don't have a baby, I still go on the scale very often but not everyday. I always make sure I don't gain over three to four pounds. If I do, I'll exercise more to burn the fat away. I think you should weight yourself two times a week instead, especially if you found yourself losing the pounds slowly. This is more encouraging :)

After having a baby am sure you were curious to know what your weight was daily. I would have been just like you. You want to get back to your normal weight am sure. Having a scale at home, you would be tempted, because you want to know if you are putting on or taking off. Not long ago where I was visiting had a scale, and I would undress and weigh daily.lol

I did when I was first working on losing weight (I have lost 22 pounds over the past 8 months) but I found that water weight played a huge role. If it was nearing "that time" of the month, I would go up...if I ate a salty dinner the night before I would "gain" as much as 3 pounds! It was crazy and once a week is much more effective in giving true numbers. I guess if you aren't living on knowing that number every single morning, and you are aware that it fluctuates wildly sometimes due to other factors (no one will lose or gain a pound of fat overnight) then why not. But knowing all of that...what is the point of doing it every day? It was beneficial for me to see how salt affected me...but once I got the water weight under control (by limiting salt intake) I stopped weighing in every day.
