Used Dryer Sheets????? What to do???

I know there are many, many uses for the dryer sheets before they are used, but now my mind is racing to find ways to use them after they are used and flimsy and soft! I have used them to stuff craft projects in my Wednesday Night Kids Church Class. What else could they possibly be used for? I hate to throw anything away if it can be recycled and used again. Put your thinking hats on and help me figure this out. Thanks in advance.

I dont have any super creative ideas like the others here...but I do put them inside my pillow case so it smells nice and fresh as I am falling asleep. I have also heard that whole keeping mosquitos away thing. (havent tried it though)

I never use these as I don't use a dryer unless it's a realy emergency. But I guess that if I had them I'd just use them as little wiping cloths. They're made of the same stuff as baby wipes aren't they? So once they've been washed you could use them in the bathroom to take off make up. My hubby keeps old baby wipes in the car as they're handy for wiping the dipstick as they don't fall apart & shed bits like tissue does.

I'm not sure the dryer sheets are made of the same stuff as wet wipes. After the sheets are used they are really flimsy and thin but they might work if you weren't allergic to anything in the sheet. I used to wash the baby wipes and reuse them to dust and as all kinds of rags. Thanks for the post.

When packing my blankets away for the winter, I put dryer sheets between them. They smell a lot better for the following winter.

That is a great way to use the unused dryer sheets. I know mine have had a strange smell since I have started putting them in the vacuum shrink bags. I may have to try that when I put my winter clothes up in the bags. Thanks for the post.

Wash your bath tub / shower using them as the sponge. Should help to prevent soap scum.

They are good to dust with. I like to put one under the sheets on our bed too, it makes it smell so good when we go to bed. I have put them in smelly shoes, but it didn't really help much.

That is a great idea for unused dryer sheets. I have dusted with them. I love how soft them are. You do not have to worry about them scratching anything. Thanks for the post.

You are very welcome. There are some great tips here and are great ways to recycle things that would otherwise just go to the trash.

You can use them as sachets in dresser draws and closets.Another member said that they are good for keeping mosquitoes away. Use one to wipe the bathroom mirror to cut down on the mirror fogging up. Did you know that using drayer sheets can clog up the lint filter? If you have a wire mesh lint catcher take it and try running water through it to see if the filter is getting clogged. If water doesn't run through then wash it with a brush and dish soap. If you don't keep this clean your dryer can catch fire after a time.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I had read that they were great for sachets before used. They keep mosquitoes away too if you wear one on your while outside. thanks for your post.

I don't use dryer sheets anymore, but when I did I used them to dust with. Instead of using dryer sheets, I use liquid fabric softer on a dampened rag and toss in the dryer. Don't use nearly as much as if you put in the washer, and who can remember to put it in the rinse cycle.LOl I just tip the bottle of softner holding the rag at the top of the bottle onto the rag and toss it into the dryer. Hope that is understandable!

Yes! I do that too when I find the liquid on a good sale. I got these dryer sheets at a bargain so am using them now. Thanks for the tip.
