Yesterday,I started a discussion on reading the bible and a lot of people said that they do not read as much as they should.I think we can all be guilty of that at some or another in our lives. However,if you do not have time to read the bible or other forms of reading scripture then you should pray everyday.I mean honestly pray, not just run into a problem and say "God please help me......".But really pray to God asking Him directly for whatever, but mostley thanking Him for what you have.Do you agree with me?

I agree with you completely. It is always good to thank God for good and bad times in our life. It is hard to thank God in bad times but I do so anyhow. All things are meant to happen for a reason. We just don't understand way at the time.

I pray everyday, many times thru out the day. I have conversations with him, if you listen very closely sometimes you can hear him answer you. I have had many direct answers to prayers. All you have to do is open your heart, you will be amazed with the change in your life.

Thats one of my favorites too. My 3 yr. old grandson sings that song. He has a microphone and he goes around singing, these are his words, "open my heart up my heart". We have a band at my church that plays once a month, that is one of the songs that we sing. We just sang that song this past Sunday. My grandson will sometimes recruit me for his band. He has drums, keyboard and a microphone. We sure do put on a show, hehe.

i can't agree more with you... yes, you re so right... if we don't have time to read the Bible, it is really unbelievable and sinful as well as God gives us 24 hours a day... how hard is it just to give Him at least 30 minutes per day??? we are so busy with our daily activities until we forget about God... it is so sad... but that is the reality nowadays... i hope people will slow down a little to think... take care and have a nice day...

I wish that I had more time to read the bible also. I do not understand a whole lot of things in there though. I always pray to the lord every day about something, whether it is good or bad when things happen in my life. I always thank the lord for the good things in my life and I also pray for the bad things that happen too.

I know, sometimes those words and pattern of words are hard to understand what God means.Iam baptist and we use the KJV bible. But,Iamm friends with the pastors secretary and I was asking her what her opinion was on study sources and she told me that both her and the pastors wife study thru the NIV Rainbow Study Bible. She sent me to the Family Christian Bookstore and I looked at it and a few other study bible's and found that I too liked that one the best. She got it for me for Christmas and I read a chapter in there and I understand what is being said better. Then I read the same pages in the KJV bible to compare what I read.It helps alot. That is great that you understand the importance of prayer.

I do agree with you. There are a lot of us who fail to read the bible. But we should never ever forget to pray to God. Prayer is the most powerful tool. We should make this a daily habit. We can pray everywhere. Let God hear us. We should always tell him our innermost thoughts and feelings. God is always there to help us.

That is right we should always pray to God.If we do not get time to read his word then He understands. But,it is a great idea too,so we understand what his word is.We can pray no matter where we are and yes He is always there to help us.You are right.

Prayer to me is talking to God. Although I try to go to church everyday, I believe that church is not the only place we can pray to God. I pray to God anywhere and anytime that I want to. We are the temple of God, it is written in the bible... So we can pray anytime. I talk to Him, how my day went, and stuffs like that. I say thank you, I cry, I get mad... The usual things... My prayers is not just a give me this prayer, I think it would be unfair to God if we will keep on asking.
I agree with you... Prayers is not just asking alone.

Prayer is talking to God and that can be done anywhere. But,like I said before it can be done anywhere, however it is nice to go to a church with other christian's that make you feel comfortable and at home. That way you relationship with God can be stronger because you hear his word more and put into context as well as having the church family there for you during good and bad times.

Oh yes. I pray everyday but even that I don't spend enough time and thought on. I tend to say the same prayer or variation of it every night. I find it best for me to just incorporate God into everyday life by just talking to Him . I did that alot recently and I need to start doing that again. The problem I run into is "alone time".

I consider that praying is not a must.
I believe that if any person does any good thing in good faith without having any selfish or any other desires which would harm others then praying is not necessary for that person.
God must and will help and protect such person.
Praying only comes when the person has doen any wrong or bad or harm to others.
Are any other species praying? aren't other species surviving in the planet and going on the life with its own work and living?

Yes, I do agree with you, and I do pray daily. I try to pray as I awake in the morning and throughout the day. I like listening to Christian music too and this also can be a form of prayer. I tend to pray for others than I do for myself. I know God will not take us to anything that he will not bring us through.

I agree with you. Though I admit I seldom read the Bible but at least I read it sometimes. Not like before when it was really a very long time wherein I don't read the Bible.
And this time I am happy also to spent some time with God. I used to pray most of the time, when I wake up in the morning, before I start my job and before going to sleep.
I find it important ro really thank God for all the wonderful things we receive from Him. And always ask for His guidance in every thing we do.

1 Thes. 5:17 says to pray continually. I was really blessed as a child to have an awesome older lady living next door. She taught me that a woman can escape to her own "prayer closet" by cleaning the bathroom. (People will rarely intrude, lest they be asked to help.) She taught me to pray about family members as you fold clothes and as you stir soup on the stove.
I've never forgotten her wise words. And once, when I was at my first day on the job at a department store, I had not yet learned to use the register. I was asked to just unpack boxes and fold towels. Three of my co-workers were in some kind of a fuss, so as I folded towels I prayed for them.

I am a Christian and I have not read bible for a long period of time. Now a day, because we have more things can do to spend time, such as Internet, video games and multi channels TV. even reading for books or fictions are declining. But I do pray every evening before I go to sleep. I think, it is important you have god in your heart and speak to god every day.

I agree with you because we should spend a little time each day thinking about god, and even reading the scripture. Godtube sounds like a good idea and I didn't know it even existed until this thread. However I do respect other people who don't believe, some people just don't like religion. God Bless and have a wonderful weekend.
