I can carry a tune fairly well I guess- my daughter says I can and isn't embarrassed for me to sing in front of her friend. She is 14 so I guess that speaks volumes...lol. I do not sing in public but I would very much love to sing at church. I posted earlier that I bought a singing program...but I haven't had any time yet to work with it at all.
Can you sing decently? Do you sing in public?

I love to sing. I got my Associates degree in Music Education. I sang all styles of music from Opera, to Hospel to Jazz. Singin is my passion.....I've sang for the Kennedy Center Honors when I was in high school and now I sing for the choir at my church. I think when I was attending school wether it be college or high school I had more opportunities to sing in public.

Oh that is wonderful! I imagine there aren't too many opportunities to sing in public as an adult...I am so happy to hear you are able to sing at church. I can't think of a much better place to sing than that, actually...

I agree 100%...not only to you get to sing the word for the Lord but you get to express threw song.....totally awesome..after all God did say make a joyful noise unto the Lord......Although, I do sing for my church I do miss singing in more of a public view..I have considered many times to go join a choral music society...the only issue would be finding the time to go to rehearsals and things like that.....

I have always wished I could sing well. I love music and really feel it.
Unfortunately I couldn't carry a tune if it was in a bucket with handles on it.
Guess it will just have to remain one of my wishes for that magic wand I'm still looking for. lol.

I feel the same way about music. I have read that anyone can learn to sing...granted someone without inborn talent may not ever become the next big star, but anyone can learn enough to not scare away the masses...lol. Thanks for responding friend.

I can sing fairly well and have beenin church choirs and when
was much younger I sang in my college choir too but I do not
sing solos as I am just average. I do enjoy singing though
with a bunch of other people.

Thank you for responding, Hatley. I think I would be so nervous to do a solo, though my biggest fear would be forgetting the words...lol. I guess one step at a time and after I am singing with others in public, I can think about the rest, right? Right now I won't even sing out loud in church. Too self-conscious.

i can sing but not that well. yes, i do sing in public but only when i'm with my friends. i'm more coomfortable singing in front of them than singing in front of my family. decently? if singing decently means not singing out of tune, then i guess i do sing decently. ;)

Sure I can lol.
I think I can sing fairly well. Maybe not enough to cut a hot-selling album but passably well.
I do sing often in public with my friends.
Nothing to hide.

I love to sing and I think I am pretty good, wouldn't say superstar material, but not bad. I love to go to kareokes, I used to sing kareokes at the pub every week, I had a ball. I sang lots of Madonna songs, my favourite song that my friend and I sang was "Like a Prayer," it was a good feeling seeing people dancing to our singing. I also have all the sing star play station games at home, have you seen them before?
What singing program do you have? I think you should sing at church, go for it! Singing is the best.

Singing was my passion many years ago. I knew a song for every word someone thought of. I sang night and day, and I was pitch perfect.
I'm not sure when I lost it all, but now I can't sing a single note on tune. I tried to pick it up again, but the music isn't there for me. I'm so sad.
I did sing in choirs over the years, most recently at the community college where I used to live. Maybe that was the last time I sang.

Nope, not really. I can usually carry a tune, but I prefer not to sing in public! I sing around the house or with kids sometimes. I'm the only one in my family that wasn't gifted with a nice singing voice, so I made up for it by learning to play several instruments. :)

I can sing anywhere, in public, at the church, for my friends during picnics, during tours, even at my workstation at work.. The only place where I can't literally stand and sing is during actual business hours in a professional atmosphere in front of my colleagues. but otherwise I can sing as far as I haven't caught cold and fever or throat pain. I'm not a singer though. I just love music and I consider myself to sing well.

I really am not into singing, though my voice is quite good. Since I was a kid, I always go to church, and there, I sing. Because of this "unofficial training", I think I could get the tune but I'm not into elaborate styles like those of singers. It's just enough for me to sing the lyrics with emotions, of course, for God.

I believe you and I already had this discussion earlier, but I'm not embarrassed to share with everyone that I cannot carry a tune in a bucket.
When I sing in the shower, the water shuts off.
I love to sing with the radio and do have a knack for copying voices, inflections and such (much like picking up on accents), but as far as the actual singing ability itself, forget it! I sound like a screech owl.
My husband tells me that when his son was little, he told him that he would rather get a spanking than have to listen to Daddy sing.
I'm not going to argue that point either.

of course I can sing very well. I think I have some talent in singing. when I was young about 5 years old , I loved to get up early and listened to the radio singing popular songs at that time. I could always master the tune well. And after listening for several times , I can sing all the songs without mistakes. adults around me got very surprised when they heard my songs. maybe my singing talent is inherited from my grandpa. he is a teacher in music

im always interested in singing. i can sing the alto voice in the choir, but i can also sing soprano 2. im not a music major but participation in cantatas developed this skill. i am also the choir conductress in our church.
