what side of the bed is yours?

I sleep on the right side of the bed (when looking at it...so when I am laying in it my husband is to my left). Thinking back, when we met and I moved in with him, I slept on the other side. But when we moved from that house, I somehow ended up on the other side of the bed, and though we have changed houses several times since then I have always remained on the same side now.
What side do you sleep on and has it changed at all over the years?

When you look at my bed, I would be laying on the left side but, in it, I lay on the right side so my hubby is to the left of me. I chose that side when we moved into our house because it is closest to the window. Now, I regret that decision as I am farthest away from the bathroom but am the one who needs to use it the most at night. So, I have learned my lesson and the next time we move, I will be taking the side closest to the bathroom. For whatever reason, I slept on the same side in our apartment as I do now. I guess I like that side but, like it or not, if it isn't closest to the bathroom in our next abode, I will be changing sides. LOL!

My husband is to my right. I don't know how that started but that is how it has ended up. It seems when we first got married he was on my left I really don't know why or when it changed. LOL I hadn't thought about it until you asked this question. But I know for the past over 20 years he has slept to my right. Great questions and you got me to thinking.

my side is generally the right side. Inever really thought of "my side." It doesn't really matter to me which side of the bed I sleep on, as long as I am with the man I love.

I usually sleep on the right side of the bed. But at the moment as my partner is away and i have the bed to myself. I am sleeping on the left which is his side as it makes me feel closer to him.

We switch about every 6 months. Instead of turning the mattress we turn ourselves, lol.
We have to sleep back to back, otherwise we'll wake each other up with our snoring, and eventually we no longer like laying on that particular side, so we'll switch back and forth.

That's funny that you change places every 6 months! It's a good idea, you both get to experience both sides! I couldn't do that as I've got really accustomed to 'my side', but maybe we should try it so I can become less rigid in my preferences, lol!

Actually, if you are on the right side of the bed when you are looking at it, your husband would be on your right when you are lying in it (on your back).
I have thought about this because I think I have always slept on the right side of the bed - first marriage and second. But I realized at one home I slept on the left. I think I choose the side that is closest to the door. That seems to be the way for me. I think I did it subconsciously but the end result is that it's always the side closest to the door, and in most cases that is the right side.

I too sleep on the right side of the bed. In most of our homes the bed has been situated to where the left side of the bed is clostest to the door. I put him between me and the door. Most hotels are that way also. The left side of the bed would be nearest to the door. I can sleep on the other side if I needed to to have him between me and the door. I can't sleep otherwise. When he is gone I put his and other pillows where he would be.

when i was a kid, i used to sleep on the right side of the bed. when i was in college, my partner used to sleep on the side near the wall so the side i sleep depends on how the bed is located near the wall. now, my partner likes sleeping on the right side so i do not have a choice but to sleep on the left. ;)

I get both sides!! We are married 33 years and we have our own rooms. We didn't at first but when my son moved out, since one of us wound up on the couch due to not doing well sharing a bed, and it's the best thing we ever did.

i use sleep on the right side of the bed during weekdays at my boarding house and on the left side of the bed at our house. I think i just don't have particular reasons to stay on the left or on the right side of the bed anywhere that is why i don't insist so.

Where I am in the bed is determined by where the baby is!!
As baby likes to sleep accross the pillows, diagonally accross the mattress or on top of the duvet, this normally means that I sleep in a little chilly ball in a corner somewhere where he allows me a spot

I always sleep on the left side (as you lay in the bed). I've always done this ever since we moved in together and sleeping on the right just feels weird to me now! I don't think my husband would mind if we swapped as he's a really good sleeper so it wouldn't affect him. I don't sleep as well, so a change like that would probably affect me more, as when you're not a good sleeper I think that sticking to your routine helps a lot, anything unfamiliar, like sleeping in a different bed or a different temperature in the bed room really knocks off your sleep pattern, and I think changing sides would too.
