Wow what a week my eldest daughter pictured in my avatar has just received her results and has passed all this years exams and has found somewhere to live in Cambridge as she now has a 30 week work placement at Cambridge University before going back to finish at Guildford University next year. I really am proud of all she has managed to achieve so far especially as we have a had a really tough year with personal situations but she hasn't let this affect her work at all. Well done darling. I would like you to share your good news moments of the week with me please or what has made you proud of your children, whether it be their first step or making toast on their own for the very first time. All major events in my eyes. Ellie :D

Well done to her! That is fantastic - no wonder you are proud! What is she studying honey? Both my kids got their school reports the eldest at the beginning of the week and the youngest on Friday and they were glowing reports too! my kids can send me round the twist at home but the fact they know how to behave outside of the house and are so highly thought of and succesful at school makes me shed a tear or two whenever I look at their reports! Hugs xxx

The oldest ones school mails the reports so they can't hide them - and you have to sign a slip saying you have received it and return it to the school! The eldest is 14 and can be a bit of a pain at home - the sort of rebellion stage methinks - he know everything about everything! Reminds me of what my Grandad used to say - you can tell a student but you can't teach them much! lol I am sure your daughter will do great - my niece is finishing her doctorate this year in Psychology and it has been a long hard slog but well worth it she says - she is going the mental health route to and I think it is great! Tell your daughter well done from me! xxx

Oh that is fantstic to hear a glowing report is always good and means it doesn't get hidden in the bottom of school bag and hop mum forgets about it too eh! Yes as a mum myself I can understand what you are saying about their behavious outside of the home, but in general mine are ok at home too except for the odd hormonal moment and slamming of a door LOL. She is studying pyschology and has decide to go the mental health route rather than forensic as everyone seems to want to be doing that one at the moment. Ellie :D

Hi Pat, LOL. Yes I'm stutting my stuff, she has done so well bless and yes I am proud of her because she has not had it easy and to be able to remain focused and achieve she has done well. My younger daughter dropped out of college as she wanted to get out and earn in the real world and after having found one job got laid off and is still job hunting at the moment bless. All I want is for all my children to be happy in whatever they chose to do which I think any mother wants eh! Your daughter has still down well to be a legal secretary though so well done to her also. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D

That is what we mums want, for our children to be happy in what ever they chose to do? My daughter is working part time as she has four children, but she is happy to be a mum! Your other daughter will find what she is looking for, she is like my 18yr old he nwants to be a plumber but hes a football player so I dont know what way he will go? He has a 24yr old girlfriend he lives with she has three children? I believe hes happy so thats that? What can you say? One son is a paver, the other is going to college as he is a chef he needs the bits of paper? I thought my oldest son would have liked teaching as Im a Special Needs Teacher (retired) and he loved the idea working with kids, He was a voluntry worker in school for a year but changed his mind!

Thank you, I do love living in England, I live in the South West Devon and it is such a beautiful rural area near to the sea with lots of countryside around. I have never been to China and wish you well for the Olympics and still pray daily for the people that have also been affected by the recent earthquake there. I do hhope you manage to achieve a visit here at some stage. Ellie :D

Congratulations on your daughter's making it into University. I remember when my sons went, it took a lot of hard work, and they paid for it themselves. I do not have any good news on my front. This week has been very bad for me. My husband is not making that much progress and he keeps trying to persuade me to sell the house and move into a senior's or over 55 residence. He thinks that I was being selfish because I loved a big yard, but in reality I do not want to live in an apartment block where all the people there are over 55. I hope he decides to get a landscaper and fix up our back yard.

My own daughter - My own daughter also passed her exams this year.
Congratulations to your daughter for passing all her exams. It is very exciting for us as parents when our children accomplish their goals as their accomplishments are ours as well. I have one son who successfully finished his first year at college and one daughter who found out that she passed all her exams and will move on to the eleventh grade. I am one proud parent as you must also be now. I wish your daughter all the best!

CONGRATULATIONS ELLIE's DAUGHTER! WELL DONE! You have every right to feel so proud of her but give yourself a pat on the back too! I'm sure she's had lots of love and support to get there. I hope she enjoys Cambridge, it's a beautiful place! My proudest moment was the one and only time I've heard my son sing in public. His school put on a show every year and He was 11 a natural soprano and his music teacher had cleverly chosen Pie Jesu. However he wasn't a natural performer as he was 'painfully shy' and being small was already a target for bullies. For him to be on stage made me proud, the fact his performance stole the show was an added bonus.
