Is it possible to make enough online to make a living?

I had just recently sprained my ankle leaving me out of work for the entire week. I get email after email of offers and ways to make money online. Does anyone actually make their entire living online? Or is it always just cents that take weeks to earn a dollar?
If you actually make a living online. Please let me know how to do this, and If it's actually possible to do.
Thank you
Dan

I dont think its possible and people who say it is either know something I dont or are just being swayed by what there told. Im lucky if I get 20 extra a month and I am online almost constantly trying to it takes alot of time. There are alot of legit sites out there but bottom line if it sounds to good to be true it is. Good luck! If you need any legit but not fast paying sites let me know.

Well for starters I would go to www.mturk.com its not a referel site. Browse the offers and do all the ones you can. Some days there wont be alot of things you want to do but I have made 70 in about 2 months. Check it as often as you can. As soon as you get 10 you can transfer it to your Paypal. Lesser amounts you can transfer to an Amazon gift certificate but I dont do that because I need cold hard cash.

This looks very interesting. Is it hard to do? It seems they have a lot going on here. I'm going to have to look into it more. If you have any suggestions on what to do here. Please let me know.
Thank you

It is possible. But you have to work at it very diligently and treat it like a job. You have to not believe every e mail you get. You have to find programs that don't charge you, and you have to spend more time building a downline than you do participating. You'll never make a living on your own efforts unless you are market savvy and hit a lucky streak. You make money from recruiting and getting paid a small percentage of all your downline's efforts as well as your own.
I've been trying to get something going for 3 months. I've finally received pay out of $11 on one program and next month I'll receive something from mylot. The potential is there, but it won't come overnight.

Are these the only 2 you have done? or is there more?
Did it take you 3 months to earn the $11 dollars and where? lol

The $11 was from Squidoo. It took building 7 lenses before I got one that caught enough attention to pay anything. Thats the thing about any program. It could peak at $10 or it could just keep building. You have to keep working at it. You can see all the programs I'm working in my profile.
The thing is I have been having trouble with my eyes and haven't been able to be on the computer for very long at a time, and I'm not very organized, so I just pick a program and work on it as long as I can before my eye makes me quit. If you're organized and have the discipline to work several programs at a time and do the recruiting as well as working the program, it will go faster.
If you can write, or there's something you're passionate about and want to get the word out, start a squidoo lens. Get it built and ask the nice folks at squidu to critique it. That's how you learn to build lenses that will be noteworthy.
Or if you write articles on specific things look into submitting articles to Triond. I haven't submitted any there yet because the writing comes in spurts and I can't write on demand.
If my profile doesn't give you enough information pm me and I'll help you as much as I can. Not being able to work is the pits. For me its a permanent situation, so I have to keep trying on the internet.

I don't think its possible to make a full time income, esp when there are so many scams etc operating (surfjunkie + cashmoneyemail spring to mind). But with things such as Mylot, treasuretrooper etc its possible to make a steady amount but I doubt you would be able to buy a deserted island on it.

Hi. I'm definitely still looking myself. But one site that I would really recomment is homejobstop. They have a vast variety of work from home employment. The show duties expected, who to contact, site links, pay rate, etc. Give it a shot. Good luck and hope you get better real soon!

Thanks for the info

I think you could...but it would probably take as much effort as going to a regular job. You would probably be online for at least a 12 hours out of the day in order to make any real money. One user said that quality comments count for more than quantity.
Just a thought..

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out what are considered quality comments. There are times I have written practically a book. Others very short, and yet others that answer a question or even have a lot of information in the comment.
So far, every one of the them are the same. If I'm lucky about 20-40 cents a day. lol
If you know what exactly a quality comment is? I would love to find out.
Thank you ljforte.

for me, i don't think that it is possible... especially with price of everything is rising now and i have a mortgage and car loan... it will never be possible... like now, i have a full time job on top of my online earnings... i treat my online earnings just as an extra or bonus... i never ever think of earning money just from online... it is just too small and not enough... take care and have a nice day...

Hey Dan,
I too searched high and low for many months on how to earn an extra money online. Some of my friends have been earning online (internet marketing) but they never never wanted to share with me or teach me anything. But i never gave up. Finally, God answered my prayer and after doing research for around 3-5 months, I found out the real ways of earning online. I, now, even earn more than my full-time day job. It was hard to believe in the first place that I really received money from online, but now I realized that we can earn good money online.

Thanks Lingli, I don't have a problem working for a living either. I think for the most part is I have met some that actually do make money at home. But no body ever seems to tell me how. lol
Go figure. Anyway. If it is possible. I want to find it.
Thank you so much for your response.

I don't make a living doing these small online things, but I do make some pretty good pocket change that has helped me out in some tight situations. But, I don't really think you can make a living with these programs unless you are good at getting referrals and being a good salesperson. I think you can make some money that will help you out, but to make a living, especially in certain places in the United States and the UK, is not possible for the average person.
However, there are legitimate companies out there that will let you work at home some of the time, you just have to search for them.

Hi desertdarlene. The ones you go through. Have you actually gotten paid? Most that I have found usually takes weeks or months to get anything.
The ones you do. Are they the same?
Thank you

Yes, either I have gotten paid cash or I have gotten gift cards. But, all of them take time. You're basically at their mercy about how much "work" you really get most of the time. Mylot is really the only place I've found where you get rewarded based on your effort. If you work more, you get paid more, if you work less you get paid less here. With all the others, you kinda have to wait until they send things to you.

Yes I totally agree. lol We spend so much money being on the net we should at least be able to make enough to sport the bill. lol

No, I have a full-time job, but I'd like to build it to the point where I could maybe reduce to a part-time job. Making money online isn't easy, I've gone through several sites looking for those that work for me (and I have found some that pay me every month)
The extra money I make online certainly helps and it allows me to save money each month (and get a head-start on birthday and Christmas presents for my sons)
The way I've made money online, is through free sites only. They take a little while to build up, but at least there's very little downside. I'm very happy with the sites I'm currently involved with, but of course, I still keep my eyes open in case another good program comes my way.
Is it possible to do, I suppose it is. I'm not there yet, but I am involved in a program that has a ton of potential and I could be doing very well with it in the next few months.
Welcome to myLot!!

I don't what type of sites you're already involved with. I can send you a few links to sites and some suggestions of what type of sites I use to earn money. I try to join sites where I can earn a passive income, even if I'm not really doing much with the site, I still earn some money (as small as it may be some months)
One that I can mention here w/o a link is Associated Content. It's an article submission site where you can make immediate upfront money if they like the article and it's something they don't have in their "library".
You can also earn monthly performance payouts, which is based on views (1,000 combined views = $1.50) I haven't written an article there in about 3 months, yet I still receive a few bucks every month because my articles still get viewed.
That's just one of a few that I have. I did some affiliate sites, made a little money with them, but found they were very "hit & miss" and while I'm still plugging away with them, I haven't earned much money with them for a few months.
I do have one that looks like it could work well with the current economy. I'll send you a friend request and send a couple of links.

Thank you it seems you have dome some serious research into this. Any clues as to where I should start looking? I haven't been into this that long. I have found a couple that makes just a little bit a month, But if there is a way to build these and get a few more going, it would be great.
Which ones have you found that actually pay?
Thank you again.

Some people make a living off the net, personally... I just got started but I am almost 1/4 way to making a typical monthly salary (well a typical monthly salary for my country) I do hope in the future that I could make a living off the net.
I actually earned over $10USD today writing reviews for another site and over $16USD since the start of the month doing HITS on Amazon's Mturk. So it doesn't take weeks to earn a dollar once you figure out which programs/sites work well for you.
Mylot is also nice and I am already halfway to payout for next month. OS by the end of the month it'll all add up.
good luck!

You're welcome
and I do see someone has mentioned Mturk. it's really cool, I like to do it while doing anything else on the net. The money adds up for sure.
As for spending all day on myLot, naaaaah...i don't have the time to spend all day. To be honest I only make about 20-30 posts if so much per day. But I look for discussions I am most interested in and it's more about quality posts over quantity here. You can earn from posting images in your interests section too.
Hope you figure out some ways to make cash online that would be good for you!

Right now, there are a lot of ways to make a living online, not only through paid-to-post sites. There are already home-based jobs, in which one can earn more than just a dollar per day. I've known a lot of offers like this, and I want to try one after my delivery. It's really convenient for me to stay home with my baby, and working at the same time.
But just don't take too easily any offers, you might fall into a scam. As there are many online job offers available, there are also as many of these that are not true and just get your money, instead of you earning them.

Thank You Bloomerbeak,
Do you know of any of these that actually pay? Or have you tried them yet? I know I see a lot but usually Just googling them you find out which are scams and which are not.
Problem is paying into site usually are. I'm sure some are not. But its really hard to find out until someone you know actually is making money from it.
But if you know of something. Don't hold out on me please. lol Let me know.
Thank you

It depends on how much you want to make and how much you are willing to work. There are probably people who make 700or 800 hundred a month or more online. I myself have done ok with sites like my lot, surveys and some paid focus groups but I havent gotten close to that. I keep trying though and feel that if I'm persiistent I may get close to that someday. You can check out my blog on my profile site for more info.

Good day..Mathematically speaking it's hard to make a living on online sites only. I mean it could help a bit but to totally depend on it for a living well I could say it's not that easy. simply if it was, many people globally would want to work at home with no boss and on their own time, with that there would be over "employment" online and the supply will lessen. I think site like mylot was designed just to let people enjoy participating and earning a little at the side while the "employers" can have reviews in some subject matter, some surveys and I might add the pulse of the majority. Mylot and others like this could be venue for extra income but not a job. thanks

That's nice But isn't the owner of my lot making a living doing this online as well as others? Somebody has to be running it. At almost of full time rate. Don't you think.
Plus they have to be making enough to also be paying us to post. Not everyone can do things online. Or even work a computer.
But the ones that can should be able to make something on it right?

I think it is possible to do but you just have to be very careful in where you go to do it. theres a lot of people out there that want to take your money from you. thats why i join site that are of no cost to me to join. i have his and 3 other sites that i work with, and so far almost exclusively Ive been working with Mylot because its proven to be the most rewarding for my effort. and i know that its legitimate because the friend that referred me here just got a payout herself.
of course thats not to say that im only after the money. I actually really like the conversation here too.
