Name one thing that made you happy today?

I was really bored today and did not know what to do with myself. I thought about mylot, however I already spent a couple of hours on here this morning. Now tonight I am back again, lol. However out of the blue this afternoon my best friend rang up and said, "are you home?" I said, "yes." She then replied, "cool, I am out the front." It made my day, as it was unexpected and she lives two hours away so I don't see her every week, mainly once or twice a month. She was also visiting her mum too who lives in the area. But it was a nice suprise, we went to the shops and had a nice walk along the beach and chatted.
So tell me, did anything make you happy today. Or did something unexpected happen?

Well, I don't know if it made me happy but it sure was unexpected and I was glad it happened. I am in the process of building a stone enclosure for my desert tortoises and I had just mixed up a batch of mortor and was heading over to the part of the wall I was going to mortar. My dog Toby suddenly charged me and put me on my butt. At first I thought he was playing because he kept tugging on my shorts and wouldn't stop. I finally calmed him down and that's when I heard the rattle. There was a 4 1/2 foot Western Diamondback coiled next to the pile of stones I would have been working with. Of course I freaked out and screamed which sent the three other dogs running back into the house but not Toby. He stayed right with me even when the fire department came to remove the rattler (I don't like to kill them) Anyway that was a bit unexpected as I always check the back yard for rattlesnakes before I even let the dogs back there. I somehow missed this one but at least Toby didn't.

Thank goodness Toby saved you from the rattlesnake, that was very lucky. Good thing you had such a protective dog. I would not like to kill them either, I think you did the right thing calling the fire dept to get the snake. Thanks for sharing your story.

OMG 4 rattlesnakes, that is creepy, you have to be careful where you live. Take care.

I live in Tucson Arizona and we don't usually see rattlesnakes this far into summer, at least not during the day. April or September is when they come out, at least during daylight hours. Last September we had four rattlesnake and I'm really glad that the fire department is trained to handle them.

That would be very hard not seeing your girlfriend much. Why don't you see her often, do you live far away from each other.
Hope you had a happy day with your girlfriend.

yeah we are somewhat far apart, and with work schedules just don't have the opportunity to get together much, it really sucks, but that's ok, just makes the times we do see eachother that much more special

One thing that made me happy today is when I saw the update on my earnings here in myLot. I have been posting responses here in myLot since 2 weeks ago and I haven't reached more than a dollar earning on a single day. But I was surprised to see a $1.51 earning that I made today. I think I was just having fun joining from the discussions today that I never noticed how many posts I already made. I was excited this morning because I just reached my 200th post last night, and now I think I have more than 230+ already. I don't count my posts. I just respond to discussions that interests me.
I know my earning today is just a small amount but the fact that I was able to enjoy sharing views and opinions with you guys made me even happier. Have a great day!

Wow, that is great daily earnings, congrats. Hope they don't delete your response though as I got my discussion deleted for stating my earnings here last week. Hope you continue to earn like this everyday, bu the end of the month you could have quite a decent amount. Have a great day too.

Really? your post got deleted for stating your earning for the day? Is there a ruling about that which has been violated? I'm not aware of it. I hope my post doesn't got deleted.
I guess this will be the highest earning I could have in a day, and I cannot maintain this since I was just active posting yesterday because I got nothing to do except post here in mylot. So it took me hours to earn that. hehehe. I cannot do that again I guess, especially during weekdays where I could only post 2 to 4 responses during the evening.

Hhhmmm...I'll tell you what made my day:
My boyfriend and I live on opposite sides of the country and he's a busy man working two jobs and volunteers for one for a total of three jobs. Yeah, he's busier than a fox in a hen house. By the time he gets home from his main job, his fingers and body is too sore and stiff to write or email me. But, he had the chance to call me yesterday (again, that's rare) and we talked for almost an hour. Well, today he called me AGAIN! That so made my day.
When people are apart for so long and far away, indeed the times they share, no matter how it is, is cherished and prized.

Wow I don't know how you can handle being so far away from your boyfriend that would be really hard. I would cherish every phone call and email too being so far away from each other. He definately sounds like a busy man, which makes it even more special when he calls you as he would be knackered by the end of the day and he still takes time to call you, that is awesome. Hope you two find away one day soon to live closer together.

Got an appreciation card and giftset from co-workers. I admit I've done plenty at the workplace, but it must have meant a lot to them for them to do this.

Actually, the one thing that made me happy today was hearing from my son's teacher that I should be very proud of his FCAT scores. My son has never liked or even cared about FCAT scores. We had a long talk about the FCAT, why it's so hated, why teachers have no faith in it, etc., but what the importance of this test actually is and for once, he actually tried when he took his FCAT tests. He admitted that he's always Christmas treed the tests up until now. Well, after taking the tests with determination, his results were quite wonderful. So, that alone, made me extremely happy!
Another thing was being able to bill 5 clients today for work performed has made me happy as well. Things have been quite slow and there hasn't been much to bill. No billing means no payments. Now that there's been some billing, I'm awaiting the ....

Well, I've been talking to someone from the other side of the world for about a week now. His personality matches mine so we just send each other e-mails about our interests. I've been looking forward to the e-mails every day. And they really do make me happy. My friends here are drifting away from me so it's nice to know someone who gets me.
