Is Your Spouse/Significant Other Jealous Of MyLot?

So my husband is downstairs playing "Guitar Hero", like the rock god he thinks he is, and decides to take a break for a minute. He comes upstairs, sees me on myLot and here we go..."are you going to be on there all night!?!" Now mind you, I have not been on all that long and could easily stay on a lot longer than I will, but what's the deal?? Then he continues to go on and on about how I am always on here. My bad for trying to squeeze in some "me time"! Does anyone else receive comments like this from their other half when they are on myLot?

Yes! Yes! And, yes! My spouse thinks that I spend my whole day on MyLot. Or, at least he did! He doesn't give me credit for all the other things that I do. I prepare family meals, clean the house, vacuum, do laundry, take care of our child, build my blogs and make money from them. And, so much more! Plus in my spare time, when I'm not lounging in bed getting my sumptuous five hours of nightly sleep, I do my posting on MyLot so I can help pay bills. He hasn't complained so much since his hours and income got cut in half. Now, he sees my work on MyLot as essential to the family. He encourages me whenever possible! And I make about enough money every month to pay for one week of groceries. So, he has little to complain about!

I am sorry to hear about your husbands misfortune at work. At least now you can have some recognition for all of the wonderful things you do for your family! Thanks for your response! :)

well, my spouse is not jealous of me because he is in mylot as well... :-) it is funny though... but we sit next with each other... i with my laptop and he with his PC and we are busy typing away... and we can still communicate with each other as we are just next to each other... so it is really a great arrangement... take care and have a nice day...

That is so cute! We need a laptop. Maybe he would get involved if we had more than one computer :)

Actually, my husband likes the thoughts of me being online and actually making Extra $$ on here. There are a lot of times, or days if I am not in here and have some extra time to be in here, he will be like "Why are you not in myLot?" Maybe I am one of the lucky ones, but personally for your defense, there is nothing wrong with wanting some "ME" time, and making myLot a part of this time. Maybe you just need to make a compromise of some sort with your husband where he will allow you to be on here with no real issues being made from it. Just my thoughts.

Thank you for your thoughts!! Maybe a schedule of some sort would be good. I think he is just having a mood swing right now. He is not normally like that. Take care :)

No complaint at all but the only complaint he has is he does not have the chance to surf the net. I monopolize the computer. lol

I am guilty of the same! We only have one computer and no laptop so it makes it difficult. Thanks for your response! :)

my girlfriend and i do mylotting if she visit me. she loves to post her comments on my friends discussions. as now i can find any jealousy on her about what i am doing here in myLot. your partner jealous because your time for them is now lesser instead of hugging and talking to your partner you do myLotting. maybe if we are already married i put a little limitations on my time for myLot and my partner so that they won't felt jealous.

I hope I am not giving the impression that I ignore my husband. Believe me, he is not neglected by any stretch of the imagination! Sometimes he just gets a little too needy. I guess everyone does in their own way sometimes:)

Yes, many a time, I just tell him to shut up and go watch another Law and Order.. That is his favorite show and they are on almost all of the channels, so he usually just gives me a smart remark and goes back to the TV, he knows that I don't watch that much tv, so he doesn't really pick on me that much about it..

I did not get jealous with my wife. Both of us have Mylot membership. She earns a lot more than me because she posted much more than myself. She is now focusing on earning more in Mylot. I need to be thankful to my wife as she has introduced me to Mylot. I like to play in Mylot although I don't earn as much as hers.

I really don't have that problem. I'm normally doing other things when he is home, like scrapbooking, etc. If he is watching something on tv that I don't want to watch, I either get my laptop and do some responding on here or look up other stuff. We also have our computers in the same room, so when he's playing his games on his, I can mylot or whatever. There really isn't a problem with me being on here, even when he is at home. He doesn't mind me doing other things if I'm not interested in what he is doing or watching at the time. He knows that I like being with him as much as we can, even if that means he's sitting there watching sports and I'm on my laptop. Although, my ex did have a problem with how much time I spent on the computer, even though for the most part it had to do with going to school online, working on my bachelor's degree. I'm not sure if it's jealousy or they just want to feel in control.

My fiance is cool with it. He respects my privacy and that this is "my space". Every so often if I'm on, he'll peak...but it's not a big deal. My retarded ex-bf had a problem with me being online. He actually wouldn't allow me to talk to my friends online. One of the reasons he's an ex!

My wife says nothing but I know i when she begins to pick on my time spent on the computer. She doesn't say it out loud but works it in sideways like electric bills are getting higher by which she means I am responsible because of the extended times that I spend on the computer. This only happens when she is not occupied otherwise she doesn't care what I do.

I love my husband, but he can be a little clingy sometimes. Everyone needs a little "me time" now and again.

Well, if all else fails you could always just ask your S.O./husband if they would prefer you to look at some OTHER website instead... say, something a bit more risque than myLot. Really, I don't understand the big deal. If the S.O./spouse was having some "me" time, why can't you?

Right! That's what I'm sayin'! I'll wait until he is in the middle of one of his career make or break songs on Guitar Hero (LOL) and I will ask if he is going to be playing that game all night. We'll see how he likes it :)

I am a student who reside with friends in a flat. Yes my friends are some times jealous and some times annoyed from yesterday as I started my account here yesterday. I have to wait and see what they will say in long run.

My boyfriend is too busy to pay attention. We are both busy in our own way. He knows what I am doing on Mylot, it is not a secret... He never says anything about Mylot....

Take a note everyone... what hubby did here is what some wives do when it comes to husband's pursuits. Don't believe me, there are discussions all over the place highlighting this. Just replace ctobler with a member's husband, and then replace mylot with any other enjoyable but time consuming event (world of warcraft, gaming, tv, dvd, sports). All of the suspect thoughts, sayings and acts are there. "Are you going to be on/doing-that all night!?!", going on and on about watching-playing-working too long, etc. Thankfully I do not have to deal with any of this at all. I'm free do do whatever I wish with my free time. I think the best part is I've got a large weekend and I'm going to really enjoy it!
