What makes you decide a Best Response here at myLot?

I have been a member of myLot for almost 2 weeks, and I must say that I really enjoy my stay here. It motivates me more when my response is being chosen as the best response, and I am sure you also do.
However, I have seen some very new posts with only one or two responses but the discussion starter decide at once not waiting for other upcoming responses that might be better.
On the contrary, I also am seeing some old posts with tons of responses but with no best response yet.
Now, I am interested how you decide one as the best. What factors do you consider? How important it is for you to reward the best response giver?
Just my thoughts.

I also have gotten email notification that I have a discussion to check out and respond to and I respond to it then notice that I might be the 3rd person to respond but the 1st or 2nd person has already been given best response and the discussion was only started less than 30 minutes before I posted. When I start a discussion I wait a few days or even weeks and if there are only one or two responses I might wait a little longer. I give the best response to the person who I think had the best input to the discussion. I think some people might have so many discussions going that they tend to not have time to go back and give out best responses. I also enjoy getting a best response. Not sure if it makes any difference in our payout or our star or not but it is just a good feeling.

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. I decide on the basis of quality, clearness and way of expressing their views.

Sometimes its hard for me to chose the mark for the best response specially when everybody who responded my post has good point on my discussion. But the one who really hit the point of my discussion will recieve the mark.

I don't now if this discussion will be kept or not as there is another just like it. I decide by which one stirs me the most when I read them. I wait until I have serveral replies if I get several and then choose one.

I have to admit that I have a bad habit of not going back and studying the responses. When I do get around to judging I try to look at the opinion, or interest and knowledge of the subject. And humor is good too.

Hello fatherblogger,
It depends on my mood sometimes. Usually I give it a day for my discussion to get old and then select the best response. I mame it first come first serve. When I am reading a response I am already picking up the response I like. After a day if there are additional response I read them and see if there is a better one, then I choose the best response. Sometimes I forget to give a best response to my discussion and by visiting your unresolved discussion you can double check which discussions you haven't given a best response yet. You can read them all and choose one. I think there are people who don't make it a habit to give a best response so you see discussions without it. It means you still have a chance to get a best response on your post. Good luck and have a great day.
Regards.

It all depends on the starter.. SOme ple will give the best response based on the 1st person to response to the post, because they just want more ple to respond to it.. hehe =D AS for those without any best repsonse yet, i guess they might have forgotten about the post too.. lol
For me, i will wait for at least 2-3months b4 i award my best responses because i dun wanna rush into it, and that, i can track my posts easily as i rarely start new discussions.. lol

Well since i am a computer nerd, it took me two months to figure out how to give a best response. I love getting them so as soon as any of my discussions slow down I start look at the responses with best in mind. Welcome to mylot

Choosing the best response is an indication that you take time to read your comments. I'm sadly amiss on that though. But I choose the response that gives a comprehensive answer, not necessarily the longest but the most informative answer. Happy mylotting.

I have been here for 2 months already but I don't post as much as i respond to discussions. But when I usually do, I also wait a few more days before choosing best responses to my discussions.
Sometimes when i feel your respond satisfies me, or you pleases me and make me smile with your response, I usually choose the person as the best responses right then.
I also chose best response on some of the discussions i responded to. I usually chose one that has a good point and has given so much information to the discussions given.
Cheers!

Hi, though the discussion is going nicely, i would like to say something. Consider a scenario..When a user post his/her question either he/she wants the problem get solved or expect a very closer solution to his question. So the best answer will be awarded to those who comes closer to the problem. Some of us described as above like expecting a extraordinary answer, which means a closer answer to his solution. Thanks

you're definitely right that when you are chosen to be the best response it will absolutely motivates you to respond more and make it the best as you can. me, i dont choose much a best response. maybe because i dont have much time to read all the response i have in my discussion. but before i do choose. it depends on how they answer and how they give comment exactlly to the topic i post.

Hey there. Well, I pick the one that is well explained, answers the question, has a meaningful message, and easily understood. It's important to me because so that I know who and which one made the best response to a particular topic/discussion that I posted here in MyLot.
Happy posting!!

the good responses touches our hearts, For some Discussions We may get more than one good response and for some discussions we may not get any good discussions, and some times we have to choose the best..........

Usually award a best response to the user who has answered my question or discussion fully and the winner is normally the one who has included the most information and indepth points of view.
