I always tell my wife to keep all of the Old Clothes that we have in one of the cabinet or keep it one place in which she is the only one know where because after I always bring it with me in the Mosque and just dropped the Old Clothes in the way they know and most especially to the poor people... What about you Guys, Do u keep it for a while and give it to the poor people or you only have to throw it away in the garbage....///????

Absolutely for that reason I always keep telling my wife to keep all the clothes that are not enough for us so that we could give it to the poor people or who are in the street or to those who are in needs......

Ones that are expensive and in excellent condition I either take to a consignment shop to sell or sell on ebay or at yard sales. Some stuff I give away to people I know. The other good stuff I give to charity and the not so good stuff I cut up into rags, if I can. If they are not even good for that, we burn trash once per week and they can go there but now I heard that if you donate clothes that are not in the best shape, they recycle them so I am going to start donating everything that I do not wear any longer.

no i will never throw my old clothes and i will always keep it aside and give to the poor and needy. there are so many people who are in a need and can to afford to have good and new clothes as they are poor enough and if we help them out giving the clothes which we dont use it, a little food and a little money and help them in anyways i think they would bless you and the blessings are more important for the person for his/her better living and hence i believe this and always distribute to the poor or needy people. if the person is not able to or wish to help the poor from money atleast by distributing his/her old clothes will do and he also gains blessings and it is considered as a good deed. it is one way of adding up to your good deeds.

I usually give my old clothes to my relatives or some people that we know that I think they can use it. Almost every year we always give our old clothes that we didn't wear it anymore, instead of stacking it in the closet. I think it was much more practical to give it to people that may use and wear it.

Iyah, I would usually sort the old clothes out - those still good and presentable to be given away to the charity homes, and the rest to use as floor or washing rags.

i don't usually give them away. caues i don't think that my old clothes are good enough to give away to the poor people. i think that only old clothes that still wearable and still look decent enough for any people to wear in public should be given away. those old clothes that look like a rag any more should be just thrown or just be recycled as a rag. i have lots of old clothes and i don't know where to give them away. sometimes there are some poor people who will come up into my front door to ask for my oold clothes but the problem i had not organized or prepared the clothes i should give and it is not easy to look for clothes inside my humongous pile of clothes that i should choose from.

Yes, of course old clothes that can still be wearable to other people in which it is not for us like the difference of sizes is the only clothes that we need to give to the poor people because it is so shame to give to someone and it looked like a rag as well.......

Hi I give away old cloths to poor fellows by myself. I don't drop those in temples or somewhere else. But some of the cloths i throw away in to garbage if I think it not suitable to wear by any one. I generally give away cloths which other human being can wear. Poor fellows are also human being like me. So i don't offer them something which i wouldn't use.

I usually where my clothes until they can't be worn anymore, or have holes and things like that in them. When I have given them away, I donate them to local charity, usually it's the local Goodwill. I usually buy clothes from places like Goodwill, so I also would not donate something that I couldn't also use.

Well I hope I did not offend you in my discussion my friend for i never tell that I am rich as well but at least we could buy the things we need in this life for if you will compare yourself to other people you would see in the street they do not even have a house and a food to eat for that they do lived in the street and you are so humble as well......

HeZP_CHN, I have a tip that might help. Keep a small box in your closet for clothes that you no longer wear and when it is full, bring it to a charity. I used to have garage sales (a sale in my yard to clear out my unwanted things - they are very popular here) but I was tired of all the things piling up in my storage room before a sale. Now I bring things (clothes, old toys, knick-knacks etc.) to the local Salvation Army Thrift Store. They resell these things at low prices to help the shoppers and use the money earned to further help the poor. We also have a "Good Will" store in the next town. They have handicapped employees who work for them and the proceeds go to helping them.

i totally give mine away...there are soooo many people in this world that can not afford new or even used clothes...I hate it when I see perfectly good clothing go to waste. The only time I throw clothes out is when they can not be reused.

We hand clothes down when outgrown for kids to younger kids in family (cousins or friends etc). Or we donate to church, mission, good will. I even offer those that are so worn they can no longer be worn to groups and schools for scraps if needed. Much rather give to someone who needs them!

We have recently had a sort out,so we ended up with many clothes that we had either never worn or would not fit us any more lol,so we decided to take them over to the local Salvation army clothes bank,it is only across the road from us,and it is very well used, there are always people there recycling old clothes curtains etc. There is also a bottle bank there,a plastic and paper bank too.Shoes are saved by the army, they give them to others who need footwear. We have so much that we can say we need to offload some of it,but there are so many in the world who have so little or nothing that they are only too glad of what is saved in the recycling centres. It seems that we do not have the balance right,on the one hand there are many with more than everything, and on the other hand there are those who have little or nothing.is it not time that there was some kind of redress,a balance struck.

There are a few things I do with my old clothes. It all depends on the condition of the clothes really. 1) Use as rags. I will do this if the condition is really bad. My hubby uses some of my daughters old clothes to polish his guitar. He likes certain fabrics for that purpose. 2) Give away. I give clothes that are still in good condition to my relatives and those who need it. I pack them in a bag and give them away. 3) Use it on my next holiday. My hubby and I have been doing this with our underwear. We both hate to use disposable ones when on vacation. So we keep our old, probably torn and tattered (nevertheless comfortable) underwear for our next vacation. When we are there we can just use and throw it away. I'm thinking of doing it for clothes too. There was once when we threw away some old clothes at the hotel, the cleaner picked them up and asked whether we accidentally threw them away. We said no. Yikes! Anyway, I never thrown clothes in the garbage.

I donate unwanted clothing to the thrift stores or homeless shelters. Sometimes I donate them to the churches. They keep used clothing onhand to donate to needy families.
