Can I Use Your Bathroom?

Most of us at one time or another have had to ask to use the restroom when we’re visiting…have you ever been refused? Have you ever wanted to refuse someone the use of yours? Have you ever had someone ask to use your restroom and then they end up washing their hair, shaving their legs, taking a shower or whatever else while their in there?
I’m a private person and I would never let someone off the street into my home to use the restroom…who’s to say it isn’t an excuse to get inside. I also am not too crazy about visitors using the restrooms just b/c it’s my own space…I know that’s terrible I don’t mind it so much for family but that’s about it. I did have one friend of the family ask to use the restroom and found out later she used a razor to shave her short curlies (yup, down there) I will say she was drunk at the time but still.
Have you ever caught ppl going through your medicine cabinet, drawers or cabinets in the bathroom? Would you ever let a stranger in if they said they desperately needed the restroom?

Well, I have a thing about bathrooms period. I always go to the bathroom before I leave home, so that I won't have to use someone else's or a public bathroom. I do not particularly like for others to use my bathroom either, but how can I deny them if they are visiting at my house. I rather women use my bathroom as opposed to men. Whenever a man use my bathroom, they never put the seat down, even though that is how it was before they used it.
My husband's sister stayed with us once, and when I went into the bathroom I saw a pair of black panties on the floor. I couldn't believe that she would leave them there. I do not even do that.

I would never let a stranger use my bathroom either. Granted, I am a local "Block Parent", and technically I would allow strange kids to come into my home to use the toilet if they had to go that badly. The likelihood is minute to nil, because most young children who would use the block parent program wouldn't use it for that sort of thing anyways.
I have one friend (*coughMyrrdincough*) who has claimed refusal to me when I've asked to use his bathroom before. He never actually stopped me from using it, so I figure he's just being his usual pain in the rear self.
I have no problem with my visitors using my bathrooms. I make sure I keep scented aerosol sprays in each bathroom for everyone's use, just in case they feel the need.
If I'm having a visitor that I know will be needing to use the shower, I prefer to make sure I have it cleaned up well before they use it, because I would appreciate the same courtesy if I were at their home.

I would never let a stranger in to use my washroom. It is very stupid. I would let in a friend of mine or someone that I knew and who had been at the house regularly, but a stranger no. I do not know of anyone who would let them in unless it was a little kid. As for friends, I would hope that they ask if they can borrow, or have to wash their hair. For one time, and if they are very dirty, it would be okay as long as they do not make a habit out of it.

I would never let someone off the street use my bathroom. I would point them to the nearest convience store. I have never had that happen where someone went through my things.....or used any of my stuff. If it was family I wouldn't mind..friends would be a little iffy....but no to a stranger.

You certainly have some valid points but suppose someone who has a bladder problem who is a stranger and want to use the bathroom would you not assist this person. Maybe this person is a angel send to give you millions and want to see if you are a people person and asked the first question that pops in his/her head. Then surely your fortune would have gone. Sometimes you have to give an take. If someone comes to use your bathroom what you can do is allow he/she to use it but if you see where time as past too long then you go and see what he/she is doing.

I have wanted to refuse them the use of my bathroom but never have. I don't others having to use my person bathroom. I can't wait till hubby gets other bathroom fixed so they can use it instead. No if the wanted a shower they usually asked for it and stuff to shave. Yes I have caught people going through my stuff in my bathroom and it irritates me that they can do that. I know they wouldn't want me doing theirs that way. No I wouldn't let a stranger in to use the bathroom. Sorry I have a big soft heart but I gotta draw the line at that.

I don't really keep too many items in the bathroom because I can never forget this is the only room in my home where visitors spend time alone. This has stuck in my head for many years. So because of that I don't keep personal items, not even my toothbrush in my bathroom. I store my toothbrush in the closet outside my bathroom. I had also heard that germs from the toilet actually go as much as six feet into the air after the toilet is flushed. This is another reason the toothbrush is not stored in that room. But yes I have let two children use my restroom when they asked. There are certain people I wouldn't want to use my restroom but I'm not sure I would ever refuse them. I guess I would just clean it real well when they were done.

There has been many times while I'm out and about that I had to go. I have a bladder problem and sometimes I just must go. I will hold it if I can or go to a public restroom. I hate public ones because I don't trust the cleanliness of them.
If someone needs to go and they are at my home, I will let them. I have one bathroom for guest and one for me. I keep my bathroom clean and know they can go there and I don't have to worry about anything. I also know how it is when you have to go. Most people are like me and won't ask unless they really need to go.

Hi there Twoey. I have never been refused nor have i refused someone that was visiting me to use the bathroom. I believe i would feel a bit awkward if i ever was denied going to the bathroom to a friend, or maybe i would just agree if it had a good explanation - however i would only use it for the toilet / hand wash and wouldn't start showering or God knows what else in there.
I would deny the use of my bathroom to strangers of the street and i think i would be a bit pissed if the person that i let in there would start showering in there - as long as they are just guests i think they should ask for permission.

No one yet ask to use our restroom at home but in our restaurant and grocery store alot just came in asking to use the restroom.SOme establishment has a sign "for customers use only" but ours become a public one. Some didn't even show appreciation by buying stuff even for a cost of a cents. They just came in, use the restroom and left. Some even saw hiding going out pretending they never seen me.Sometimes i check it and they were messing up there.I could say some people never show any respect.

I do not have a problem with family and friends using my bathroom when they are visiting. I use their bathroom when I am at their house too. Everyone has to go sometimes. I have never done anything in the bathroom at anyone elses house except pee. I dont think anyone has done anything crazy in my bathroom. At least I havent caught them and I hope they didnt. I would never let a stranger in my house though. To use the bathroom or for whatever reason.

I personally will not open my door to strangers, there are just too many bad people out there waiting for the opportunity to take advantage of people with good hearts. I don't mind letting my friends and family use my washrooms because they all know how I am. I have never been refused the use of a bathroom and I hope the situation never comes,LOL. I have never had anyone take a shower or do anything like that if I have given them permission to use my washroom.

i never mind my friends or family members to use my bathroom... but not strangers... and i never been refused before of using somebody else's bathroom when i am in their house... of course i never knock ito a stranger's house and ask to use their bathroom... i just don't have the guts to do that... if i am really desperate, i will go into the nearest fast food restaurant and use their toilet... take care and have a nice day...

I've never caught anyone snooping or doing something they shouldn't, but I know what you mean about being uncomfortable.
My MIL isn't known for washing her hands after using the bathroom, so it always makes me uncomfortable when she goes in there.
I've had a friend's girlfriend use our bathroom and the comments she made about our bathroom made me uncomfortable...mentioning that she wanted to steal items out of our bathroom because she liked them so much. She didn't but it made me feel uncomfortable since I didn't really know her.
If you gotta go, you gotta go. Just keep it clean, do what you came in there for and get out! And for goodness sakes - wash your hands!

People off the street, that would give me an ick factor too. But people I know friends and family. That doesn't bother me. I would like itif a few left the room the way they found it though. That shaving thing is disgusting. I don't blame you there!

I would never let a stranger use my bathroom (eww)
Well I have my own bathroom and my parents have their own bathroom, and then there's just another one for guests which is very... impersonal, you know, nothing that we wouldn't want other people to see or use. No-one goes in my bathroom cept my mum.
