Do you have a favourite place to read? Do you need peace and quiet to be able to read?
I like to read anywhere I can really. It does not have to be really quiet but it does help. If I am in living room and people are watching the TV and it is not too loud then I would be able to read my book fine. I like to ready when on long journeys as it passes the time better. When I go the the gym there are some wicker chairs in the changing rooms and when if I have time when I have finished my workout I go and sit there and read.

Im really not into reading. But when I read books like "Harry Potter" and my favorite book "da vinci code", I love to do it in my room. I can find peace and I can commit myself to the material im reading. When outdoors, I prefer to read in the garden, where there is fresh air.

I don't care mush about place to read. As long as the material is good that will keep me from other things. I usually read in my room and whenever I get the cahnce to read, at the bus stop, in a train, in a bus or what ever that suits me. I always carry some reading material with me in my backpack.

I like to read most in a quiet place where no one can disturb me in what I am reading. The best place for me in reading is under the tree where I can smell the fresh air and hear the chirping of the birds.I like to read alone so I can concentrate more on it and feels that I am also one of the characters on the story I am reading.

My favorite place to read is in the bathtub, and when I'm waiting somewhere. So, I try to always have a book with me when I'm out and about (for the waiting part), and I try to be careful in the bath tub to not drop the books. There is something so relaxing to me about being in a hot tub with a cold drink and a good book!

I like to read in bed with the TV on in the background. I know that probably sounds crazy, but that is the way I enjoy reading the most. I especially like reading in hotels when I am traveling, it just seems to decadent. I don't need complete quiet to read. But sometimes, I take my book outdoors and after I take a swim, I lay in the lounge chair in the sun and read. It's completely quiet out there, but I can still read.

Reading on the bed is relaxing to me. It is where I usually read. Most of the time, I feel sleepy after reading for some time and it is just right that I am on the bed so as to take a nap. It is a great place to relax after reading books or any reading materials.

My favorite place would be in front of a fireplace in a dark old English library on a rainy afternoon with a single lamp curled up on a big over-stuffed chair with a hot cup of tea nearby..... but enough of my fantasy world! LOLOL I actually am comfortable reading anywhere, much to the chagrin of my family and friends. I always have a book on me, one in the car, in the living room, in the bedroom, anywhere I might want to pick one up and start reading. I read while in restaurants (while waiting for people or while eating alone), while waiting in dr. waiting rooms or while in line at banks or stores, etc with long lines. I just love reading so I am always at home with a book in my hand!

i can read anywhere too so long as people don't disturb me, as in talk to me. i don't mind the noise because i can concentrate solely on my book, i'd be too engrossed hehe
but i definitely prefer being alone at home. that way no one will talk to me and disturb me so i can finish my book in peace and without being disturbed. sofa, bed, floor i'm fine reading anywhere. but those three are places that i'm usually found at inside the house grins

Dear Donna22, whether I try to read at the kitchen table or in my office study, I find it too restrictive, so I have taken to constantly changing where I read. I do love reading novels out in the sun in the back yard, but I have to read a lot of other books and papers, which I cannot carry about. For these I do need to stick to the kitchen table or the office. Most important for me is that I keep moving, otherwise I will get stiff and have headaches, which takes all the enjoyment out of reading.
All the best. Umart

I read all the time and can do it almost anywhere that there is enough light.
Noise doesn't bother me if it's not to loud and people don't either, as long as they don't ask me to many questions. I guess you could say I'm a compulsive reader
