Do you have any suggestions? What color schemes shall I use, I have no idea? I think most bathrooms have soft colors what do you think. describe yours? My bathroom is very small. so I can't put much in it. I will change Shower curtains, a new rug for floor. Maybe some accessories to go on the sink, soap tray waste paper baskin, I can't put to much more in there. only one person can get in my bathroom, that is how small it is too give you an idea.

I do interior design/color coordinating for a living. As a starting point, you should think about what colors you really like in general. Then you can go to the paint section of a store of your choice and grab some samples. Normally, the sample cards have the lightest to the darkest version of the color on them. Then, at least you can hold each of them up on the bathroom wall to get an idea of what you think would look good. If lighting in your bathroom is minimal, you will want to go with a lighter color. If you have plenty of light, you can safely go with a bolder, darker color. Blues and greens(like ocean waters) give a more relaxing atmosphere...whereas reds and yellow are energy colors.

Ys we have that store. I went to Bed Bath and beyond. They have nice things. but they are very expensive. I did fine some nice shower Curtains that were 50% off. They were 30.00 and I got them for 15.00 which was good. Happy Holidays to you! Thanks for your input.

How about red? It's a bold color but it'll be very noticeable since you have a small bathroom. A red rug should be nice, don't you think? I don't know if you'll be able to find a plain red shower curtain though so maybe you will have to go with a printed one.

I would use mirrors to make it look larger and maybe a sea scene which you can even paint on the walls. Then yoou can add sea towels and a seashell or something ocean, or fish related.

That is a thought. Even though it is really smal. It wouldn't take many mirrors anyway.

I think you could add over tiles for your bathroom and when you say about bathroom you would get the colour of marron tiles in your dreams..which would suit well in any bathroom and i think you could have a hand shower so that it would be convienient for your small bathroom and have the curtains changed and have a scented balls or naptheline balls to keep them clean..happy mylotting..

well, my dad used a darker shade this time, color maroon.. i thought using a darker shade was a bad idea but i was wrong.. actually, it turned out to be a good one.. =) well, you can use your favorite color as your motiff then try to look for great ideas online or interior design magazines.. it's best if you plan everything before proceeding into the next step which is buying for bathroom accessories..

I just redid my bathroom. I painted the walls a color called beach sand. The pictures that I bought were of beach scenes. The accessories are a shell color and have seashells imbedded in them. The shower curtain matches the accessories and the shower curtain rings are seashells. The rugs etc are a cream color that matches the basic color of the shower curtain. My suggestion is to find a theme that you really like and base your decorating style around that theme. My great passion is the beach and everytime that I go into that room I remember my summer at the beach.

I have light blue and sea shells in my bathroom. I still have to finish it, I have more painting and plastering to do. Once I get that done, I have to put up my border. I can't seem to get off the computer long enough to get some of my projects done. Maybe I can get busy after Christmas.

What fun! It's always neat to redo the bathroom. Mine's a small one too, not that small, but small by most people's standards; it's window is also on the side of the house that doesn't really get sun at all. What I did was to paint the walls white. Then I got a shower curtain with a print that has multiple colors in it. That way I can change the colors in the room just by changing the colors of the towels and the hand towels. I know white is boring, but I find it gives more light in there and makes it seem bigger and more airy. With it being Christmas decorating right now, I have green holiday towels, holiday rug, colored soaps, and such. I like to be able to change here and there, so I have a dark blue theme, green theme, purple, etc, and all I have to do is change the towels and hand towels around. (Lazy huh?! lol)

My bathroom is small as well, but I wanted a seaside theme. So, what I did was this... I cladded the wall up 3ft 6ins from the bottom, with wood cladding and colour washed it a watery blue. I made a narrow shelf all the way round, so that I could put things on it. The bath was also wood clad and colour-washed in the blue. Then, I got some sand yellow, 'gritty' emulsion and painted the top half of the wall with this. The ceiling, I painted blue, like sky and stippled some cloud shapes on it. Then, I purchased a large mirror, which I placed over the wash basin and surrounded with a rope-like twisted wood. Over top of that, I made a beach hut to house the electrics of the halogen spotlights which I trained on the mirror... three in all. I painted that in vertical blue stripes, with the wood colour making the other stripe. Then, I adorned the windows with a water-blue colour chiffon curtain, inside the bay, and a sand-yellow curtain on the outside, which ties back. I put hooks on the side of the bath, where I house two oars, to make the bath look like a boat, then put fish, shells, candles, seabirds, lighthouses, etc, on the shelves and window sill. I love my bathroom... it's very relaxing but it might not suit everybody. Oh, I forgot the starfish on the walls beside the mirror! lol. I'm a bit of a dreamer when it comes to decorating, so that may be a bit way out for you my friend, but I love it. Brightest Blessings.

I'm so sorry for coming in so late.I think, light color scheme is better for small places. However, I think, you might have already got your bathroom renovated by now. What changes did you do there ? Thanks.

If you want a nice relaxing bathroom I find pale green the best colour for relaxing. But if you want a nice sunny bathroom I would use a sunshine yellow. If you do not want to change the paint colour and it is a neutral colour try brightening the bathroom with some bright towels and bath mat. I hope you have a white bathroom suite as that will go with any colour you want.

I redid my guest bath about a yr ago. I did it in a light sandy beige and put up outhouse border I found on sale for a couple of dollars a roll. Then I bought a shower curtain with outhouses on it and printed out an old antique outhouse picture off the internet and framed it to go in there. I have gotten lots of compliments on my outhouse!

i don't know if this is something you would like, but this is what my friend did. she bought a shower curtain with tropical fish on it. she took bright blue paint and dipped a wash cloth in it and blotted the entire bathroom wall with that washcloth.believe it or not,it was way cool looking.the way it turned out was simply stunning.you could do any color,it was the way she applied the paint that made it different.just an idea.

I suggest to go with the softer colors, because it will give the room a feeling that it is a little bigger than it really is or you could add mirror tiles to one wall to give it a bigger feel. But most people probably wouldn't like that in their bathroom.

The walls in my bathroom are plain white right now because we are not allowed to paint, but I have a shower curtain with fish on it and little knicknacks around like seashells and stuff and my towels are blue. On my bathroom sink I have a picture of my daughters and the frame is a lighthouse.

I would suggest a nice light beige-y sandy brown color for the walls (if you're painting) and keeping accessories and things that can look cluttered to a minimum. Keep any cabinets or stands white and organized. White towels would also be a good choice (plus you can wash them in hot water and bleach them unlike colors, making them stylish and practical). Using mirrors instead of art on the walls would also be advisable in a small space. I personally like my handles, faucets and hardware to be a nice shiny chrome. Also keep an eye out for any space saving organizational stuff like over the door towel racks. And above all, keep it clean and shiny!
