My husband's company gives a Christmas party every year, just for the kids. It is tonight and my husband is going to take our son. I am going SHOPPING!!!!!! I have nothing to buy, I am completely finished with Christmas shopping. I am just going to see the lights and hear the music and take my time looking only at things I want to look at. Best of all, I will meet up with my two favorite boys afterwards for dinner and a chance to hear all about their party in my son words and all his excitement. I haven't been this excited about shopping....... well, maybe ever. I may find myself, mid-way thru the night, regretting I am not at the party with my son, but I know it is important for him to having outings like this with his daddy. So, if you found yourself with several free hours on your hands tonight, what would you do? Shop, sleep, call a friend???

Wow! That's so nice for you! As for me I still have a lot of things to do...not necessarily any more shopping but baking and crafts still to do! I was just out shopping today with my husbands birth Mother...WE mainly focused on items for my son! So, to answer your question, I would likely fall asleep watching TV or a movie...I am so tired these days!! Too much to do and not enough time for anything...including sleep! Yes, my life is this pathetic!!! ~Heavens~

Not pathetic at all, my dear Heavens. Here's hoping that you get caught up and have some rest time very soon.

I know that, sweet Heavens. I think of you often, say a little prayer, wish you the best. Hang in there, my friend.

Hi Pots its nice that ur hubby and Son are going for Xmas party, i wonder why u r not going as i think its for family too, They have entertainments and differnt stall for kids for sure, but i am sure they have some food and intresting stuff for parent tooo Anyway, some time loitering alone with free mind and fre soul is good and as u have nothing in mind so u look at MAll/Shopps in differnt way and enjoy, and may notice things which u normally dont when u r focused to something. I, if i am alne, i would love to stay at home and find out some thing to pass time, it can be book, TV, Mobile for SMS Take care and enjoy

Yes, it was meant to be a family outting. Now I'm feeling guilty. That's a downfall of being a full time, stay-at-home mom, ........ sometimes you get your fill of having your limits tested. That was completely where I was this week. I missed out on a couple of family holiday photo opportunities, but it was a great evening for us all. Happy SMSing.

Your husband's company has a really nice idea. As for what I would do with a few free hours, I don't know. Let's see- listen to music I like, read a book, go book shopping, maybe do a project I had not finished. If I had kids, probably finish wrapping and hide the presents.

Ahhhh, yes, listen to music and read a book. That might have been a better choice, but it was a nice evening.

That sounds wonderful! I do have alot of free time...but spend it doing what I love....stamping or making crafts. I am not much of a shopped unless I am with my best friend or sisters.....it's best with my little sister! We do lunch and go to every store we can imagine! So tonight as always I had free time. I however had to get ready for my family Christmas tonight so made a salad to take...got my party tray with Christmas treats all decked out...and have everything sitting on the dining room table ready to load in the car.....and now I will mylot and play games! LOL have a wonderful evening!

I'd either be sitting here on the computer, or parked in front of the TV. I was shopping all afternoon, and spent every dime to my name. Now it's time to relax! But tonight I'm taking the kids to see a showing of Polar Express at the elementary school where they'll meet Santa.

Fun. The area television station showed that on a large screen at an outdoor park recently. It was the Friday after Thanksgiving and we were out of town, but it sounded like so much fun. Eat some popcorn for me. And will you remind Santa for me that I will be in Maui for Christmas....... I am so worried he won't be able to find me and leave my toys for some other nice girl.

Let's see where do I begin? I'd shop, sleep, read, watch TV, take a bath or maybe just plop on the couch and look through some magazines.

Take a long soaking both is often my choice on evenings such as this. It is too cold right now and my bathroom is too large to ever get warm enough for this during the winter.

It's rare, I know, but my husband actually enjoys shopping, especially with me. It is our 4 yr old who makes the task a little more challenging.

I would sit at home and write my novel. I do love shopping, but not this time of year. It is not that I hate shopping, it is just that it is too darned cold. We went out on Thursday to finish our Christmas shopping and the wind was really cold. I doubt that I could walk to the store alone since I do not drive. But come when the snow is gone, I will walk to the Mall, look around, and see what I can get. Then I will enjoy shopping.

Yes, I imagine it is too cold in your part of the world to be walking to the mall.

Hi makingpots, Wow. I envy anybody who's completely finished their Christmas shopping. I frequently find myself with time on my hands in the evening. My daughter (seventeen) has a very full schedule, and we've become like "ships that pass in the night," of late. Shopping is quite the ordeal for me, transportation and health wise, so it needs to be planned well in advance. What I normally do is balance my time between the computer, tv, sleeping, and talking on the phone. Tonight I had a nap (as usual), enjoyed a phone conversation with my sister, and now I'm online for a bit. I'm still waiting for my daughter to come in, by the way. She was working a close shift at Wendy's, then she phoned to say that she and some others, were stopping by to visit a friend. I hope she's not too much later, as it's already after 2:00 a.m. Take care.

As you can see, I'm up late of my own doing tonight. I was busy all weekend, so thought I'd just drop in here. Sometimes "simple" is the best.

Hi, someonesmom. :) I hope your daughter didn't keep you up too late that night. I decide to keep gift giving simple this year which is the only reason I am finished with my shopping this early.

I would probably go shopping. I pretty much have my kids shopping done, but I want to get them some stocking stuffers still. I would probably go out and do that.

It's 10.10pm here Pots and I've been home alone because The Boss has gone to a girls' night out birthday dinner. I have talked to friends. E mailed. Looked up real estate prices in Texas for when I move. Caught up with the Lot and read the paper which we bought today, unusually, because we don't norm ally have one in the week. I know that i will get a call soon asking me to go and play taxi. In the meantime though, I might just go and lie on the bed and read a page or two of my book. I hope that I don't drop off!

My money is on you dropping off. Ahh yes, the move to TX. Princeton is nice, but Plano would be better. Buy my house, it has sure been filled with LOTS of love the past 13 years. The neighborhood would be very multicultural. Off the top of my head I can think of an Iranian family, a Dominican Republic family and a Welsh family on my street alone. And don't work another minute on that draw.... we don't want you losing the sexy British accent.

Well, if it were tonight, I would go to a movie alone or rent one on TV and sit with some hot cocoa, turn on the Christmas tree and village we built and just relax.

Oh, that sounds nice, nanajanet. I would opt for the tv, cocoa, tree and your village. Which village do you have? I have friend with such phenomennal villages that they actually pay professionals to come in and set it up for them. (setting it up would be the fun part for me)

We have a mix of brands of Victorian style buildings, none costing more than $20 as I always buy them on sale and after Christmas. I would not do a village if someone else did it for me. The creation of it and the people telling us how good it looks is the best part.
