We don't cook steak too often. When we have it I like to cook it until it's about medium. I always get confused as to what cut of steak is the best to eat. I usually try to buy porterhouse or t-bone steaks. I used to buy sirloin but they would wind up dried out whenever I cooked them. What is your favorite cut of steak to cook?

I try to grill either ribeye or NY strip. Lately the grocery store I go to has been having one or the other on sale about every weekend, so I get the one on sale. I don't think I can really tell the difference between the two but they have both been really good for me.
I never buy sirloin
I know some people will only eat the filet but I find it is too sofy and kind of mushy. I like my steak to have a little more texture. Not tough or chewy, just not as soft as the filet

I do not eat steak, my husband does. I usually buy shell steak for him. Recently, I have not been able to afford the shell steak, and the other cuts I have bought, he does not like. I try to tenderize them before I cook them, but he still says that they are not tender. I need to figure a way to prepare them, because I do not want to waste them either.

It usually don't matter to me what the cut is as long as it is thick and juicy! If I am at the store looking for steak I go by the looks of it. It has to be a bigger piece and it has to be very thick. If it is thin when cooked it usually don't turn out the way I like it. and it usually ends up being dry. Sirloin is usually thick and I think that is what I normally end up getting. But still I go by looks.

Hubby is the steak cooker in our family. He usally grills them. We have both an outdoor and an indoor grill. He usually buys rib-eye or tri-tip in a bulk slab. We cut our own steaks so he cuts them about an 3/4 inches thick. But we tend to like the rib-eye better. They always come out tender and juicy.
