Global Test Market - The Final Wait!

For those who are aware of my previous discussion on whether Global Test Market is worth it or not, you will know that I had 100 more points to go then. That was 4 weeks ago. Today I received a survey and managed to reach 1000 marketpoints at Global Test Market. I have cashed out the points and now waiting for the cheque to arrive in the mail.
It has been a long wait for me and I was excited to to have reached minimum points for cashout for the first time. But my excitement is short-lived when I read that it would take 6-8 weeks before the cheque arrives (for international members). That's pretty long. How long did it take for you to receive your cheque once you cashout? Tell me if you are from the US or international member like me, so I can compare the time it takes for it to arrive. Thank you for your responses.

hi,there. we are from the same country!
good to see you cash out.
I got paid two checks last year. both reached me within 4-6 weeks. the good point is it is converted to our local currency so no need to pay any fee for it.

Hi Leo,
Are you the same Leo Wang that I know? What happen to your previous account? Somethings going on. My friends here on mylot are starting over with new accounts at mylot. Is this a trend?
Anyway, that is great that you manage to receive two cheques from them last year alone. I just was not serious enough about the payment until my points reached 700 or so. Then I began to look out for surveys by them so that I could reach 1000 points. I was too close to payout to abandon it.
4-6 weeks sounds reasonable. Glad that we don't need to do the conversion as well. It would have cost us, right? Wonder how much the banks here would charge for conversion. BTW, have just added you.

Just read your story about it and I'm glad you are back at mylot.
US$20 for converting money. It must be based on the amount you received, right? I don't even have that amount in my Alertpay account, much less to give to the banks. LOL! You are doing pretty well with your online earnings, I see. All the best!

leo here. you can see my whole story in my blog. do not want to mention here.
yes, the conversation fee is quite high. Last month I got a check from alertpay and our local bank charged me about 20 US$.
hope you can get the check soon.

Congrats Sydney! I am a member of gtm too and I am waiting for my second cheque to arrive. It would take a month and a half to arrive for international members. Check out the blog of gtm, they usually say the date on which the cheque can be expected to arrive against the redemption week. I regularly participate in their surveys and it din't take me too long to reach 1000 points. If you are nearing 1000 points and are stuck there, I would suggest try referring others. It pays you 20 points for each referral and you can easily reach the target and redeem the points.
The first time I had about 765 points and was invited to write blog and that fetched me 5000 points alone. My first cheque was about $275 and boy was I happy to recieve it! lol

Hi Nikky,
I'm so not very good at referring others, but will try that method to increase my points. Anyway, what did you mean by invited to write a blog? Was it for GTM? And you were rewarded for that? That's awesome!

lol I am not good at referring others either. So far I have managed to get two people signed up to gtm. I am considering the referral system seriously from now on. Lots of them do it, and it only needs that we learn some good techniques. Let's see how that goes..
And the blog wasn't for gtm , it was a focus group kind of thing for a client of gtm. It was a different site to which we were redirected and asked to sign up and write answers to certain really easy questions over a span of 2 weeks. A little less than one question per day, it was. I don't know the criterion for the selection process and such invites are not often. But when you do get it, it pays great!

I'm in Sweden and I think my checks (vouchers) arrived in less than 4 weeks the three times I cashed them out.
For me every single cent is worth it at the moment - so I stick to my survey companies - some months I get several surveys and some just one.
Good Luck on getting your money soon

Considering the current exchange rate, I'm also benefiting from any form of online earnings in US$, including GTM. I think you are among those receiving the cheques the fastest. Most of them take 4-6 weeks. I'm expecting mine in the beginning of next month or mid-Mar. Still a long way to go...

Thank you! I hope you get more surveys so that you can reach minimum points for cashout soon. I'm hoping to receive my cheque in 3-4 weeks instead of 6-8 weeks as mentioned in their website.

Thank you! i think you can earn 75 points very quickly, just two good surveys and you are done. I took many years to arrive at 1000 points. Well, I did not complete all the surveys. I used to be working and did not have time to do them all. As such, I took so long. Just over a year is not too bad. Good luck to you!

Hi mirmacs,
You should be glad that you have joined a paying survey site. It does pay. It's just that it takes an awful long time to accumulate the points. I can't believe I took four years, on and off, that is. Not meant to discourage you though. I complete the surveys only when I had the time in the beginning, and completed more diligently nowadays. It's best to complete all that is given to us to reach payout sooner.

Really? I didn't know that. I have not really explored other areas of the website. Thanks for telling me in detail the dates you receive your cheque. It's great to know when the cheque is half around the world on the way to my mailbox. Will check out the blog.

It does take quite a while. It will arrive when they said it would, but you enjoy it when it gets there. I have been paid several times by them. I like their site.

It took me quite a few weeks I remember. And they do deduct a processing fee because my cheque was for $99.01 or something like that - cashing out $100. But I did have to wait several weeks. It's worth the wait though. The timing was pretty good because it was just after Christmas.

HI Pat,
Congrats on your payout! I just can't wait until I have $100. It has taken far too long for me already. As such, I have cashed out and waiting for the cheque. Hope it comes soon. Thank you for your reply.

I trust this survey website. I am a member of it and I have got my payment three times. Actually I got my third payment today. Please be patient. It takes at least one month for you to receive the check. But perhaps its payment process is complicated so that it will spend a longer time. By the way, I am from China.
I love China

Congratulations on your receiving the payment! That's fantastic that you have received THREE payments thus far. You are from China and I'm quite surprised that you have been paid that many times, since international members often get lesser survey opportunities. Well done!

Congratulations on reaching payout -- I've been able to cash out once every year I've been a member of GTM. I just received a check from them a couple of weeks ago, and it came about a month after I requested it (I'm from the US). There's really no telling when you'll get your checks from survey sites, though. Sometimes you get them much sooner than they say, but I've also had to wait two or three months to receive some of them. GTM's never made me wait too long, though, at least as far as I can recall. It's quite cool that an international user is having success with a survey site...I normally read complaints about not getting any surveys, and GTM is the kind of site where you need to take a LOT of surveys in order to get paid. Congrats once again.

Actually, I have been complaining that I have not received many surveys from them. I did my rant in a previous discussion. LOL! But I'm so happy now that I have made 1000 marketpoints. It's so hard to achieve this. I hope I won't have to wait too long for the cheque. Going to put it aside for my insurance payments.

Hi Marina,
Thank you for dropping by my discussion. It took 4 weeks? That's quite alright, I guess. It seems that's the standard for US and international members. can't wait!

I started with this company a while ago and unfortuantely I just haven't made it to pay out yet. I have very little time online and I find that they don't send me very many surveys. I guess that if I participated more I would have more sent but like I said time is an issue. I am glad that you have made your payout and I hope that you get in soon. Good luck and happy earning.

Hi Crivas,
Thank you for your response. In the beginning, time was also an issue for me. That was why I took so long to reach payout. In the last few months, there seems to be more opportunities and I completed more since I'm no longer working anymore. So I think the biggest progress was made last year when I had more time to do the surveys. Even then, if I take a long time to open the surveys, they are all snapped up. So I have to be real quick! I hope that in time to come, you will reach payout too.

Wow, Congratulations..that's a nice thing to share here my friend.. I'm from PI and I remember signing up to globaltestmarket here but because surveys are seldom in my inbox, I was so tired of waiting and I give up.. It's nice to know you completed yours in an early time.

Hi AJ,
I have requested for the payout but still have yet to receive the cheque. I hope it gets here soon. Sometimes there are not many surveys if we are not US residents, can understand why you gave up. I almost did.

Well, good for you that you managed to cash out.
For me, I am still waiting for my turn.
Still quite a long way to go before I reach that 1000 points.
The surveys are not coming in as often as when I first joined. I wonder when then I will be able to reach cash out.
Will let you know when my turn comes.

Hi Ah gong,
It took me many years to reach 1000 points, believe it or not. But I ahve finally reached it and waiting for the cheque. I know people have received it in 4-6 weeks. I hope to get mine by mid-Mar. Hope to hear the good news that you have cashed out too.

Hello SydneyHazelton,
I joined Global Test Market too long before I joined myLot. I stopped for a while when I feel that it's hard to reach the minimum payout. Do you always receive surveys from them? How many do you get in a month? I rarely get one. I am glad to know that at least they are paying the qualified members. Maybe I should check my account again and be active there...

eah it takes a while to get your cheques, though to be honest i dont recon it takes too long to get 1000 points, it takes about a month or 2 maybe less dependant on how many i choosed to participate in.

You are from the US and it's taking you a long time to reach payout, that's not very common. I thought US residents get more survey opportunities than us on the other side of the world. 4-6 weeks to get the cheque sounds pretty okay. I wonder how long it would reach me in Singapore.

HI saosin,
We international members do not get as many chances as those in the US. Those in the US get many surveys per week and can accumulate points easily. I guess the rest of us have a wait a little longer (actually, much longer) to do that. Some people just don't waste time on GTM, I can understand. It is frustrating waiting for surveys from them. I'm just hoping that I get my check soon. Cheers!
