I am now reading those books about Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella and I just wonder do people really can be so obsessed with spending their money on different things. I hate shopping myself. I am a girl, I have money, but I don't like to go shopping it is so much stress for me. You need to go to different shops, try on different outfits, some of them make you realize that you are fat or ugly. This is so much trouble. I can't see how all this event can be fun. Maybe you can tell me the secret? Please!

I'm with you. I am not a shopper. When I need something...I go and buy it and hope it fits. I don't try things on. If I don't like them when I get home...I return them. I have just enough jeans to get by and I'm ok with that. I buy many of my sweaters and things from thrift shops. If they don't fit me...they'll fit one of my 4 girls or a friend. My furniture is all 2nd hand. I am going to be refinishing some of it soon just because I have a new painting technique that looks really cool and I want to. I have some friends that will spend huge bucks on an ugly looking purse. I don't get it. I make a purse for less than 5.00 and it is unique and I get so many comments on it. I don't get the obsession either but it is pretty common.

Hi soleya..I have to agree on what you said about shopping for myself..Its too stressful...However thats why I seldom do but I do love to shop. I buy for everyone but myself and I love it!! I think its a great form of exercise that keeps me on my feet all day and not sitting in front of the TV or computer. The problem is that when I have not much money, I see everything I want to buy..When I do have some money, I cant decide what it is I want!! So I think its more fun to shop with limited money and buy as much as I can with my budget

Hi soleya, Sure I love shopping! But only if it is shopping to see something I like seeing. I have come across the book you mentioned but I haven't read it yet. I am not a shopaholic though. I wish I had the capability of since that would mean I have simply too much money lol.

I love spending time going around the shopping mall, looking at the nice clothes inside the shops, or smelling the different scents of perfumes but I hate spending. in other words, I just love window shopping but doesn't love shopping per se. I don't have much money to spare on those unnecessary things. I love to shop when there's an on going sale.

No, I absolutely hate shopping. I did not get the shopping gene in my family. It is something I dread doing. I have always been a get in, get what I need and get out of the store person. I dread holiday time and going into stores just to get basic things, because of the crowds of people out there. I also hate trying on clothes!! Just something I have never enjoyed doing. Give me my jeans and tee shirts and tennies and I will do just fine!

I loathe shopping hate it with a passion it is a necessary evil of society. I shop only when it is absoultely essentital I go and try and get done as soon as possible. I hate when I cannot find what I need and hate when clerks try and pawn something off on me I do not want as a substitute. It is very stressful and NOT at all fun. I have never liked shopping.

It is not that I like or hate shopping. What is shopping, in the first place? Isn't it the process of going to a store and buying at least an item? "Shopping", now, is the "act" of trying out stuffs and then going to the next store and trying out some more and then... You know what's next. It's just a cycle. This is the stigma for shopping. It exhausts you, gives you pain, and leaves your wallet flat. However, let us not be judgmental over what other girls like... or what they hate. I like acquiring new clothes, footwear, bags, accessories, et cetera but I am not doing it in the same manner as "shoppers" (the prejudiced women who are obsessed with shopping) do. After racks and racks of clothes, I will only find one that suits my taste and style. I will try it on, and if it fits and its worth its price, I'll go buy it. I won't spend all of my money in just one go. Let us just draw the line between "shopping" and shopping.

Hi soleya! I absolutely love shopping! Well, I used to love it. I have always feel very happy when I have new clothes, shoes and beautiful things. I guess, the reason why I do love to shop before was because I really enjoy trying on new clothes and shoes. This makes me feel wonderful. However, when I got older my priorities changed. I only shop now when I need to. I don't like spending money on things that I really don't need anymore. I don't need many pairs of shoes because I can't really wear all of them. It is just a waste of money for me now and I would prefer saving and seeing my bank account looking good. LOL! Take care and have a wonderful day! lovelots..faith

Hello there! My case is the opposite. I love shopping and I do it because I consider it a stress deliver for me. Whenever I have problems at school or other things, shopping for stuff, especially clothes, take away the stress. I'm not saying that it is the solution to my problems but at least it make me happy even temporarily. I don't shop for expensive things though but shopping sometimes hurts your wallet.

Of course I shop if I need something, but the only shopping I really enjoy is for books and only if the price has been reduced.

I'm retired and sometimes I just need to get out of the house, so I will go to a book store or an electronics store. I don't necessarily go to buy but to see what new books are on the discount tables and what new or improved gadgets there are. As far as clothes go, I only shop when I need something and I get in and out as quickly as possible.

Personally, I like to go to shopping malls, when I have enough money in pockets. Otherwise, I just like to buy things from local shops as and when needed. I mean no specially planned shopping programme without having a good sum of money in pocket. Naturally, that is very rare in these days of economic recession.

shopping is ok but I think I am more excited about the deal then shopping. I think I did really well yesterday while out shopping and my kids were wonderful with the way they acted with all the different stores I had to go to. At walgreens I spent $7 total and ended up with 3 bottles of edge shaving gel, 3 scunci 18ct holders, 2 chapsticks, 2 bags chex mix, 2 packs of tic tacs, 2 colgate toothbrushes and I got $5 register rewards back. I don't know who wouldn't be excited about gone get those kind of deals.

Hello soleya! I love looking for stuffs I could buy for family and friends. But shopping for myself is something I would only do when there is a necessity. I find shopping stressful. I think that there are other things I can do with my time aside from shopping.

hello dear, i am reading this book now, it is killing me to think why this Bex has such crazy idea when she is shopping, but as you can see, we have to buy clothes in our life, i consider it as a big work, to buy the suitable one to me in a shortest time, so usually i choose to go to the Brandshop.
