Would you survive a week without internet service?

Well I changed ISP and I made up a mess when I tried to configure the router so that I can have access to my sons' other computer. Anyway, I asked my colleague to help me and he could not come because of his workload. Anyway he did come today to fix the problem. My son kept bugging me when was his computer going to be fixed, even though he had access for an hour daily on my computer. My colleague told me that most of us would have nothing to do if all the internet networks and servers would break down. Would you survive a week without internet service?

I think that I could survive much longer, this time of the year! Spring has sprung here in the Gulf Islands....and there is so much to do outdoors, I am finding it hard to find time to spend on the net! It is raining today, so I am clearing up a few things....on the net, that I could have done otherwise by a phone call! Because of my location, quite often we experience ISP down times, so one just gets on with something else! Lotsa good veggies growing...ronaldinu..what are your favourites...I will send you a "cyber" package! Cheers!

Take your pick/or several...Leeks, Tomatoes, 2kinds of Cukes, 2 of Squash, Scarlet runner beans, bush beans, beets, carrots...3 kinds of potatoes, zucchini, onions and herbs...but last, not least, a plethora of Nasturtiums that I use all parts of, and of course, I forgot Kale, Mesclun and Lettuce! Only thing I need stores for in the summer, is meat! So, I can survive without the net!

I have done it before and it did not kill me. In fact, I did other things instead. I always can find something else to do if I am not online but it is a source of enjoyment for me, just like TV or radio. I can live without those, too.

It's hard to do but I have had to do without it at times when my grandsons messed up my computer so bad that I had to have it serviced. It hardly ever failed that this would happen over the holidays and the person I use to fix my computer was not available or I would not bother him at this time.

I think it's OK for me to be without internet service for a week. But I am sure I will feel bad to it as I almost go online everyday. I need a longer time to get used to the life without internet. I love China

The internet has changed our life style deeply. The more frequent we use it, the we depende it. I will feel uneasy without internet service, just because I see the world through the website.

The internet is the spice of the workplace, without the intnernet we would all have nothing to do. I love having the internet at work in my little office, most of the day i spend on facebook, pool and now here. So my answer is yea i probably would - i love my intnernet time..

I have and did survive without internet access in a week. sometimes I take a break for a few days at a time. And when I go to my mom's sometimes I don't even get on. I have had to go without my internet when we was out of electric for almost 2 weeks back in Jan/Feb here in KY and in March when I changed from dial up to fibernet I yet again had to go over a week without it. I fond that it lets me catch up on things I need to get done.

Surviving a week without internet is little hard, but without the PC itself is not possible. The reason behind why the delay is important. See if i have to wait for a week without internet because my ISP is upgrading from 256Kbps to 2Mbps, then its worth the wait. Such cases are fine with me . if the waiting is worth i will survive easily. Otherwise its hell.... :-)

I have survived the time when internet is not yet introduced, and email is just a postal office visit. :) but this time, we have learn to live with the fast technology and I cannot survive a week without the world wide web, it sounds funny though but I believe most of the people here may feel the same.. :) have a great surfing day in the net..

I am so tempted to say "No, I can't" for this question, but my honest answer would be "Yes, I can survive a week without an internet connection". While internet has already been so heavily assimilated into my routine lifestyle, I guess I can give the internet a miss for a week if I really have to. I know I can personally do it because I have done it before. For instance, I remember attending a boot camp for about 5 days or so in the bushes, and I survived through that period of time without any internet service (although I have to admit that I did think a lot about the internet during the boot camp itself). If I can do it for 5 days, I am pretty sure a full week would also be fine by me. Well, I guess you just have to throw someone in the deep end of the pool, and they will learn how to cope with it by hook or by crook!

At the moment no. I have found some great games to play at the minute that I am slightly addicted too so it would drive me mad to lose my connection right now!! I would have plenty of other things to do and could find something creative to do instead of the games but I reckon I would sulk for a good few days of that week!!

Yep and I do at least once a year when we go on our annual trip with our best friends to celebrate our marriages. Last year we went to Salem, Mass and this year we went to Gettysburg, Pa. I never even missed it at all. Truth be told I did miss a few of my friends thou. If I was to get rid of the internet I would have to write them letters!

I don't suppose I will die without it but I would find it because I am so used to having it readily available whenever and wherever. I do try to stay off-line as long as possible when on vacation but I can only stay off-line for so long. I have to log on at least once a day to stay in touch and up to date. I recieve so many emails that If I stay off-line for a week i will be overloaded with emails and not be able to get to all of them.

I don't think I could survive a week without internet! I love it too much, as ridiculous as that sounds. I partially work online so that would really put a hamper on my lifestyle! I am worried because I know I'll have to go awhile without internet in September when I move to a new apartment for school! Yikes, maybe I can steal WiFi off of a neighbor.

I would definitely be able to survive a week without internet service. There wasn't any internet when I was growing up, so I'm sure I could figure it out again. However, there would be some serious withdrawal involved. My husband and I just experienced a blackout last week and lost service for a few hours and we really weren't sure what to do initially. Thankfully someone down the street still had service so we could piggyback. But it was like going from a house to an apartment. Doable, but unpleasant initially. We've also had to go without in between moves and we were a little bit miserable. But I think it got a little bit easier each day. Of course we rejoiced when we were connected. Play scrabble in the meantime.
