Do you think it's ok to cook eggs for supper? On occasion I just don't feel like cooking a big meal for the family or they just don't want one themselves so I make eggs. Some people think eggs weren't meant for supper and doesn't justify as a supper meal either. Eggs have great protein and nutrients so I don't understand why not. Aside of the fact that after a hard days work a man doesn't want eggs but sometimes he does!

I do not know where the notion comes from that eggs is a breakfast thing. I love eggs morning, afternoon, evening, and everywhere in between. Nothing wrong with eggs for supper, there are so many ways you can prepare them that you can eat it at any meal.
Eat the egg.
Blessings

I agree. I know more people eat them at breakfast but what makes them primarily a breakfast food. That is kind of like saying steak can't be eaten at breakfast. Lots of people do it, it may not seem like the normal, but what makes it wrong.
Thanks for your comment, appreciate it.

Breakfast for dinner- that is the best! I like to fix bacon, eggs, toast and possibly a light fruit salad. We have had french toast and sausage for dinner too. I don't see a problem with the meal that you are fixing and I might want to come for dinner. LOL!!

Mmmm pancakes... we do them at supper sometimes too! The kids love those nights! I can only eat one pancake myself... the syrup is enough after just one. I don't cook alot of breakfast either as mornings are kind of hectic and if the kids are gone for the weekend to Grandma's/pa's then I miss out then too. Sometimes suppers is the only time I can enjoy them.

Totally true! My step-dad worked until supper so he didn't have time to make it when he got home and my mom was always sick growing up (r.i.p) and sometimes it was hard for her to make dinner so I got making eggs at supper from her. I think to have anything for supper is great in itself and like you say. As long as you are being fed there shouldn't be any complaints!
Happy Mylotting and thanks for sharing your opinion with me :)

We have had Breakfast for dinner many times, and there is truly nothing wrong with it for sure. We actually enjoy from time to time having Eggs, Bacon and Fried potatoes, and it makes a Welcome change for any meal for sure. Matter of fact just thinking about it, maybe I will have that for dinner tonight, as Eggs are so good anytime.

Yes, I do!
I love eggs at breakfast, at lunch, at souper, all day long, weekdays and weekends.I think that I could eat only eggs -there are so many ways to cook eggs. Oe add them to another thing. Like, lately, everyone in my house loves when I do eggs and fries. Add a lttle bit of ketchup, bread or buns, and you have an imperial meal.
Plus, they are easy to cook, takes few minutes for everything. And of course, they are full of proteins (can even replace the meat intake),and other nutrients.
Good for adults, good for kids, good for any age.
Of course, the adults would better eat more the white then the yellow, but, then, it's so tasty, I don't really care what part I'm eating!

i think there is nothing wrong with having eggs for supper, i mean i know some people used to make egg currys for their supper. There is no rule saying when something has to be eaten, i mean who made it a tradition for eggs to be eaten for breakfast?
Being honest eggs are healthy so i dont think it matters when in the day they are eaten its upto you what you want to make or feel like making and as long as the family and you are happy with it thats all that matters.

I sure do when I don't feel like making a meal. I will either have 2 hardboiled eggs with toast or scrambled eggs with toast and maybe a glass of orange juice or cup of tea. No problem for me! When I was growing up sometimes on a Friday when we couldn't eat meat my mom would make us pancakes and my dad would eat eggs and noodles. He loved that!

I dont see this as a problem at all! If you cooked only eggs for supper, I would be a bit disappointed. But as long as there was something else to go with it, I think it is ok.
I have been known to make 'breakfast for dinner'. Eggs, potatoes, sausage, toast, pancakes, bacon, english muffins. Breakfast really is a simple meal to cook, so it makes for a great, quick dinner too!
I say it doesnt matter what you make for supper, as long as everyone has something to eat and everyone is happy!

Yes it is okay to make eggs for dinner, because it is very easy to cook, you don't need so much time to prepare it, you can also get nutrients and vitamins on it.

I think i am the person who like most to eat eggs. In my child time , I was very eager to eat one fried egg.But because of poor family, my dream could not come true. Although i can eat eggs every day, i still think the fried egg is the most delicious food.I am strong now.Don't care metions the others' views.Just do it.

I have omelets on occasion during the evening hours, or added to macaroni and cheese. Egg salad sandwiches is for anytime.
And when I was a child, my mother occasionally made pancakes, eggs, and bacon and/or sausage and/or ham. Or steak. It was the sixties, and red meat was good for you then.
I used to make an egg sauce for pasta - mostly milk, cooked egg white, various spices and vegetables, and the uncooked yolk stirred in (be sure to use only the freshest eggs - I don't want to cause an epidemic!)

I don't intentionally plan to have eggs for dinner but if ever we do have eggs for dinner I think it would be ok. I don't see anything wrong with having eggs for dinner, there is not definite rule about what should be eaten during dinner or other meals and what should not be. I think it depends on the people eating. If people like having pancakes or toast for dinner then no one has the right to say that they can't have any because its dnner time. Same goes with eggs.

Hard boiled eggs can be prepared for supper. If you don't want to eat the usual food for dinner or you're avoiding heavy meal, boiled eggs will do. Usually we have eggs for breakfast or snacks but eggs can be eaten anytime of the day. Two hard boiled eggs can be equal to a heavy meal. They can be easily prepared and eaten. So, if you're alone and rushing for something important, you can go for eggs during supper.

you know, eggs had been an all-time all-meal favorite of my family. i mean, mom would cook but with all due respect and love, she isn't quite good at it. so, she resorted to buying hot dogs and eggs so that my male siblings and i with my little sister would resort to cooking on our own what we want if we happen not to like her dish.
when we were younger there were hot dogs. but when you have 3 growing brothers a kilo of hot dog may last for only 2 days. so eggs were the ones left for us.
i tell you the smell of an egg cooked in any way is heaven. besides, the basic thing is, yes, it's protein and it goes well with carbs! happy eating!

There is nothing wrong if you want egg for your dinner. For convenience we always cook egg in our dinner if we don't have time and get lazy to prepare food. I prefer to cook egg boiled or fried. I love eating it with bread or rice. It's is affordable and easy to prepare.
