Yes I have, a pack of EX LAX and yes I had problems in that area. I see lots of people that put dog food or cases of soda, water or other bigger items on the bottom of the cart. I know people that forgot to pay for there dog food that they had on the bottom of the cart. After you realized you forgot to pay, did you go back in the store to pay? I didn't realize I didn't pay till I grabbed my bags and I seen the little pack of LEXATIVE in the corner. and no I didn't go back to pay for it.. Shame on me but I'm sure I overpaid for a thing or two to make up for it.

Not that I am aware of no I have not stolen anything. I always try to check the whole cart so I won't leave anything. And if i did forget to pay I would be afraid a darn alarm would go off and that is embarrassing in itself to have to wait and someone go through your bags while holding your receipt to see what isn't on there but in your cart seen it done a few times and I don't want it to happen to me.

The funniest thig happened,I wrote a nice long comment to your discussion and since I work with two tabs open I pasted it to another discussion that I was working on. I was replying to someone and told them my sordid tale about how my kids and grandkids are expert shoplifters. So I apologized to that member and then I thought I had replied the above text to them and I actually put it here. LOL I am obviously doing to many things at once.

reading your discussion makes me laugh and remembered something. yes i can say that i have accidentally stolen something but i can no longer come back to pay. i was at japan and a few minutes we are already going to ride a cab to go to the airport. we are buying a few more things in a small shop and i was going to buy some rings. before we went out of the shop we all paid for the things we bought. but when we are already travelling to the airport i saw i was wearing a butterfly ring that i was not able to pay. well i still have the ring. and i am really sorry for it was not an intention to steal it.

Yes. When I was shopping, I forgotten that I was holding an unpaid shirt under jacket on my arm. I paid for all my other tops but just forgot about that one. I didn't go back to pay for it once I got into the car. But my friend once told me she left accidentally with an unpaid purse and felt so bad, she had to drive all the way back to the store to return it. My conscience lives with some stealing apparently.

Yes it has happened to me too. It was really funny actually my sister in law and I went to payless shoes to see the kids shoes noe sons was only two. We saw these really cute shoes so I grabbed them and tried them on him there was no one else at the store at the time, so the girls at the counter started talking to us. We were just there chit-chatting when my son ran out the store and then we just say bye to the girls and run off after them. We then went to another store and my sister in law says "the shoes!" i didnt know what she was talking about and she says it again pointing at me then I realized I had them box and all under my arm. How could I not feel it its a box. I was so embarrased and scared but I didnt return them either. We just started laughing when it was all over because no one noticed not me or my sis or the counter girls which were right in front of me when I put them there.

Yes, just the other day, I nearly walked out of the store with some candy bars, but one day, I went right out the door and the alarm went off. It was only a pack of gum, but it was embarrassing. I had it in my hand and forogt, because when I get to talking in a store, I forget even things that I have on my list to get. LOL Good subject to discuss.

i think i have as well... but i go back to the store to pay for it as i feel very guilty if i didn't... it just doesn't seem right to me and i also pity the owner of the store who is trying to make a living... but if the store is too far away and it is impossible for me to go back, then i won't... i'm so sorry... but it rarely happen though... take care and have a nice day...

I accidentally stole my friend's books while I was in High School. We were roommate in a dormitory. He put his books on my cupboard & I mistook those were my books, so I put those all into my cupboard. He was really upset while he knew that. Finally, I returned his books on the next day.

Yes, I have..twice. The first time my oldest son was just a baby. My husband and I had gone to Toys R Us to get some items for him (our son). As we had used our stroller we put the items that we were going to buy in the basket at the bottom of it. At one point our son started getting restless and with being a new mom, I started to feel nervous. When my husband and I reached the checkout counter we hurriedly put the stuff up on the counter. We thought we had gotten it all out of the stroller basket. So we paid for our items and left. When we got home I wondered where some of the items we had bought were as they weren't in the bag. I thought maybe we had forgotten them at the store. But then one of us remembered the stroller. When we got it out we looked in it and sure enough there were the missing items. Boy, was I embarrassed. We didn't bother to go back as we didn't know how to explain ourselves. The second time was at Wal-Mart with both of my kids (they were both under 5 at the time, if I remember right). It was shortly after Wal-Mart had gotten the new self-checkout machines. I was curious to use it, so I did. I thought I had gotten all the items out of the basket (a shopping basket this time) so I paid for my things and left. The kids and I got back to the car and I put the bags in the trunk. However, there was one item that hadn't been bagged...a bra. With having two little ones with me I just couldn't find the energy to take it back in. So I kept it without paying for it. Karma got me back good though. I overpaid on at least a couple of occasions. And for a lot more too.

I had a few problems at the self checkout myself, a couple times when I looked at my reciept certain items didn't ring up. OOOPS

lol I love that you started this discussion. I've accidentally "stolen" something 3-4 times in my life. And to this day, I feel guilty. I'm not sure if it makes me a good person for feeling guilty about mostly insignificant things or a bad person because I didn't "fix it". The biggest was, as you mentioned, forgetting to pay for a package of dog food that was on the bottom of the cart. By the time I realize it I was at the car and I had two very uncooperative children with me and I just DID NOT want to go back and pay. It was one of those days when you just couldn't wait to get the kids back home... A poster board...I worked at a store. I needed the poster board for something and I asked the manager if I could pay for it "tomorrow". I didn't have the cash, I guess. He said yes. I kept forgetting to pay for it until it an embarrassingly long time and I just never did it. I took a PENCIL home from a job. lol for some reason THAT bothered me for a long time too. I keep wondering, if I ever have to take a lie detector test for a job (I had to do that once) would I pass or fail? IF I admitted to "stealing" these items, would they not hire me? I also wore a pair of bowling shoes home once (don't laugh at me too hard). My friends noticed my regular shoes and brought them home for me. The bowling alley was going out of business, so I never bothered to return them.

Hey missy! What an honest person you are! And in a world like this it is quite an honor to know you!lol I have done the same thing too and no I didn't go back to pay for it! And I am sort of ashamed to admit this, but I am a cleptomaniac~ in other words I purposely steal things from the stores if I think I can get away with it! I get a sort of pleasure and I know it's wrong, but I'm poor and I should and probably will be going to hell and will probably lose friends by admiting this here! I can't seem to help myself! If I think I can stick something in my purse easily and not get caught I will! Ok, now you can stop being my friend because I am a terrible person! I know~ I still love you~

I did not have that experienced in my life. But if it will happen I will go back to the store and pay for it. Its nice to be honest than not doing it. The trust you have shown to them will be great than hiding or shame for it.

Happened to me once. My dad told me to hold the shoe lace he was supposed to buy. We were at the grocery that time and my mom with the cart was somewhere far so he made me hold the shoe lace. Because I was, too, looking around for something that I might want to buy, I unconsciously put the lace inside my pocket. I was in grade school back then so, still a bit silly and irresponsible. We paid everything and headed straight home. Dad looked for his lace from the bags of groceries but couldn't find it. So, he asked me. That's the only time I remembered I have it in my pocket. boo!

Dear friend, Not yet, but at times I had forgotten to give or pay the bills after I had purchased things. But I have seen some people who had accidently stolen and came it with in and later they had given it back.

Yes, I have... I rmemeber one day I was with my mom shopping at trhe supermarket, mom wanted to get a chili sauce, we didn't have a cart nbecause we were just going to grab ahndful of stuff , pay and leave. We grabbed more than we expected so mom just put the chilisauce into her pocket, when we were paying, we forgot completely until we paid and went outside. So we went back to the store and paid it... it was scary because two days later, they were catching thefts. I mean mom didn't do it on purpose but you know they would have still called the police and said we stole stuff!

Yes me too, I actually forgotten to pay the gas station. Here usually there will be a different person collecting the cash and another put the gas. At times the collector is not around the person who puts the gas collects it. All time when I off the engine I will take the cash out of my purse and hold in hand. But that day, I was not in 1 mind state and didn't take the cash out, and the collector was not around. Once the fuel is in the collector asked if I've paid and I said Yes and drove away! I came the next day to pay but they can't remember! Not my mistake..

I nearly stole something by accident once. I was at this little bakery and they had these cereal bars in a stand, and since I hadn't had breakfast I figured I'd buy one. Turns out that, by reflex, I put it in my pocket. I noticed that the cashier was looking at me funny but I couldn't tell why. So my friend suddenly asked me if I was stealing it. I felt so embarrassed. I just went up to the cashier and payed for it, along with an apology.
