I knew something was wrong with my daughter

Call it a mother's intuition or not but I was in bed last night and just knew something was wrong with my daughter. I called her and she was parked in a gas station on her way from Atlanta to N.C. and she was so ill with Flu. She had seen a doctor and received meds but she still felt ill and so had stopped at a gas station to drink gatorade as she felt her sugar level was so low.
I told her to tell the people in the Convenience store that she was sick and would be parked outside until she felt better. Then I instructed her to lock her door and stay in the light. Anyway, I stayed talking to her until she felt better and was well enough to drive. Then I called her every 15 minutes to see if she had reached home.
This happened to me once before when it was announced on the radio that a man had died with the same name as my husband. People cam runninmg to me saying that my husband was dead but I knew that it wasn't him as I was sure that I would have felt it. And it wasn't him.
Do you have this intuition with family members?

I don't have any intuitions that have noticed but my mom does. Just a couple weeks ago I cdalled my mom to see if she wanted company over the weekend. She laughed so hard. I asked her what was going on. She said she ahd just 5 minutes earlier told my dad that it will be nice to see Cyndie this weekend. She said he looked at her real funny and asked her why they would be seeing me. Then I called 5 minutes later. I do believe it does happen.

Your mother felt that she would be seeing you. Yes, it does happen - so often too. Are you a mother?

I can't say that I have had feelings like that but I have had feelings before of things, such as substitutes etc. So she's living in NC? which region. Glad she felt better though!

When I responded to this before I was thinking that you were the one with the daughter who had to come home. I know that you think Americans should have the right to first jobs, but she was trying to become a citizen of this country and that should have accounted for something. I know that Gastonia is in North Carolina, the same state I reside in but I don't know exactly where it is. I hope that she will have a chance to come back here again though. I think I've read that you've been to America?

I felt a bit sad that there are millions of illegal immigrants in your country and there she was making a spectacular contribution to the country and not a drain on the resources for your citizens. She has leased her home and maybe one day in about 5 years or so she will be able to get a job and return. She so loved it there and it was only a 3 hour plane ride to come and see me. I loved it too. Her visa did not permit her to work in a private school and many private schools ther wanted to employ her. Some friends of hers are coming for a vacation later this summer and we ar elooking forward to them coming. I am, so grateful to the USA that she was able to work and pay for her Masters as I could not assist her financially to do so and did not want her to be burdened with debt for years.

She has to leave the USA by June 30th. The reason being is that she was teaching at a school for 3 years that wanted to keep her. During this time she completed her Masters too. last year when she applied for a permanent status, there was an illegal immigrant with the same name as her. Homeland Security asked her to wait one year until they did their investigation. They did so and all was well.
Regretfully, her County (Gastonia) took the decision not to employ any non US citizens so without a job, she has to leave the USA. It was so disappointing as she had bought her home and lived in this wonderful community and made so many good friends. Parents and kids were crying at her school as she had done so much and won awards for having the highest rate of literacy in her classes.
However, it is perfectly understandable that Amercian citizens should get the scarce jobs. So she is coming home end of June to work and hopefully begin her Doctorate out here.

yes I have that intuition, I also get prophetic dreams and I can't when something is wrong though I don\t know what it is with strangers as well. It has been happening to me for a long time, many years, started when I was a young girl.

Yes, I do cynthia. I think most if not all women do and many men as well. The thing is that some people just do not pay attention to it. I have had it since I was a little girl. I remember knowing things that was going to happen. I hate it that most of the things that I know about are bad things. I will just know it or dream in at night when I am asleep or I like have a day dream type thing when I am awake. I will see what is going to happen. When I "dream" the things it will happen within 2 weeks from that time. It has never been more than 2 weeks that whatever it is happens.
Scientist say that everyone has esp, or intuitions but many ignore them or they need to be developed in some.
I think that it is good that you know yours and you were there for your daughter. Also I'm glad that nothing had happened to your husband. Blessings to you.

Yes, that is amazing and a very good thing that your mother heeds the warnings...I do too.
Yes, I have changed things that were going to happen. One time when my husband and I were driving down the road. My cousin and his wife were with us, we were just driving around looking. I told my husband in an important tone to hurry up go, speed up. He said what, I said again, speed up hurry. He did not right away and I screamed STOP, NOW stop the car. He slammed on the breaks just as a signal light feel right within a couple of inches of the front of the car. Also the light pole was laying across the road toward the car. We all got out and found out that a yellow VW coming from the other direction had crossed our lane and hit the pole that was holding the signal light up. He was drunk and got out stumbling from his car.
The police said we were very lucky. He just did not know how lucky we were.
If he had not slammed on the brakes like I told him the light would have fallen right on the cab of the car killing all of us.
There have been way too many incidents to mention. As it's been going on all of my life.

Once i worked at a monfort production plant. One day i went out to use the restroom when passing this co-worked the word heart attack came to my mind. At the time it i didnt understand why. But the following monday i found out that the co-worker had a heart attack that night. He did survive it and was in the hospital.
Sometimes ina crowed place a name or an illness will come to mind.
Tornados. When they come close enough for me to take shelter i dream about them before they come.
Where i live now there are not many tornados. But couple yrs ago i had a dream about 3 tornados. 2 were close together and the 3rd nearby. Within 3 months here in colo there were 2 tornados that were a mile wide (record breaking size) and soon after there was one ina nother country which killed more than any tornado before (record breaking). So although i didnt have to take shelter they were 3 record breaking tornados.
From the 1st of june for 10 days straight we had multiable tornados everyday. I did not dream any of that but i didnt have to take shelter either.
Any way i do not control or even understand all the time.

I've had that happen many times. The first time, I was in Australia. I woke up in the middle of the night and was worried about my sister and her car. I finally got through to my parents and kept asking how my sister was. They kept saying she was ok. I just knew something was wrong. Finally I came out and asked if there was a problem involving her car. My sister loved her car. Yup, problem.
Her car was stolen on the night I started worrying. My sister was very upset and crying over it. My folks didn't want to tell me because they gave her the keys to my car to use. They thought I might be mad. Why would I be mad? I wasn't there. It wouldn't inconvenience me in any way. It was insured. They called the insurance to say she was driving it and it's not just parked in a garage anymore. They arranged the insurance for her using it. I don't care. Even if something happened it was just a car.
On the same trip a few days before I was due to come home, I got a weird feeling about my friend who was babysitting my plants. I had about 50 beautiful large house plants. It was quite a bit of work taking care of them. I just all of a sudden felt there was a problem involving the care of them. Why after 2 months it was a problem, I didn't know.
Her house burnt down that day, along with everything in it. Thankfully none was hurt. She was at work. The cat was playing outside and her husband was walking the dog. My friend thought I'd be upset that all my plants burnt up. I was a bit sad at the loss of my plants but I was more concerned that they lost everything they owned.
I've had a lot of weird things that can't be explained. I think we have connections that defy logic.

It was years ago. At the time I lived in a "green house". My apartment had 2 walls of solid floor to ceiling french door windows that opened up out to the air. I was 1 flight up so it was safe from intruders. I did replace many of the plants. Then, when I moved out of the country I had to give them all away. I gave most of them to the friend who likes plants. I live a place now with normal windows. Unfortunately my cats destroy any plant I try and bring in. They think it's a new bed for them. Grrr. Everything is for them in their fur face minds. LOL oh well.

Mother's intuition is a born talent. I think all mothers had it.
Every time something bad happen to her children she will feel it.
There's a bond between mothers and her love ones and it's through
that bond... mother knows what happened to her family members.

Some of us has that kind of gift. I heard once that all of us have that, but we just do not know how to develop it. It is good thing to know that you have it. You felt your daughter was sick and needed you. It is mother's intuition. Take it as a gift and use it for your family's sake.

My mother has had these feelings before about me and my siblings. It is truly creepy. Some may say that is was just a coincidence that you felt thay way. Or some would say you just did not want to believe it was your husband. I believe in intuition. I myself have had these feelings before and I was right.

I don't have that "intuition" as much as I'd like to.
I do think though, that I can be pretty perceptive at times.
I get a "feeling" about things, but those feelings often come from observations that I've made.
I don't think I've ever experienced a situation like yours where somebody was far away from me and I "felt" like something was not right.

Occasionally, but for me it's not always a family member. I also may not (at the time) know something is actually wrong, because there may not actually be anything wrong YET. An example I can think of to tell you - an old coworker of mine crossed my mind, I just thought of her and her son one day, and I couldn't explain why. She was a single mom, and I'd known her for 5 years because we worked for the same company. I hadn't seen or heard from her in several years, so I wasn't really sure what brought her to mind. About a week after, I got an email from another old coworker, a mutual friend of both of us. She told me that K had gotten in a horrible car accident and killed somebody, and she was going to jail! My first thought was what would happen to her 14 year old son.... since he doesn't even see his dad. What's even worse, she was DRUNK when it happened and the other driver was a friend of hers whom she was following home because they had drank too much as well. So yes... I do often worry excessively if I suddenly think about someone I haven't seen or talked to in awhile and there was no reason out of the blue to think of them....
Oddly enough, I found at least one other person with my husband's name, and apparently he ran out on a gas bill in Nevada lol.

It was definitely mother's intuition and I am happy that you responded because she really needed you to be there for her. It's something neither of you will forget. I had an experience with my Mom when I was at work years ago. I was standing at the door and felt that I needed to call her. I didn't right away but after five minutes I could not shake the feeling and called her. My nephew was with her and told me thats he was not feeling well. She felt that her blood pressure was high and it turned out that it was. I urged them to go to the hospital and I left work to meet them. She had to spend the night there and I stayed with her but I am happy that at the time I called and was able to urge them to take her to the hospital. Sometimes we may think that we are just over-reacting when we feel something strongly.. but sometimes it is someone speaking to us and we need to listen. Good Post cynthiann and take good care of yourself..

Mother's intuition is unbeatable!! I experienced somewhat similiar with your daughter's situation. I was at college 8 years ago, and I was posted to a place called Seremban which is 3.5 hours drive from my parents' for 'on job training'. I used to drive home every Friday just to spend the weekend with my family. Usually I will call her(mom) to inform that I'm starting the journey and will arrive home within 4 hours. She never called me while I'm driving as answering mobile while driving is illegal and she knows I hate the hands-free!
That weekend, as usual I called her before I left my hostel from Seremban. That day I was extremely tired and exhausted of lecturing 3 classes(usually it's only 1 class on Fridays). While I was driving in the highway, I snoozed off! Mother's intuition played a big role here, my mom called me! My eyes widely opened and found I was driving from lane 2 to lane to 3(fast-lane)!! Lucky no car on that lane! Well, I can't imagine what would have happen if mom didn't call that day.
I reached home safely and asked her why she called, and she said I felt something was not right! Mom is GREAT!
