What kind of sheets do you prefer on your bed.... silk, satin, cotton, flannel.. ??
I was just going through some ads and saw that some sheets are on sale and I really need to get some new ones this winter...of course since it gets cold here in the Midwest... I prefer the flannel myself!!
Are silk sheets as sexy as they say they are?? I have never slept on silk/satin sheets so I wouldnt know personally....
what kind do you put on your bed, what kind of sheets you prefer??
HAPPY MYLOTTING!!

hi bookreaderom08 I tried satin sheets once, oh myg what a miserable night, you slip and slide, and they are cold and
'clammy. give me a high thread count percale cotton sheet'and I will sleep easy. I like my cotton sheets as they age a bit as
they get so soft and comfy. I love soft feeling fabric in a sheet and cotton always gets my vote, the higher the thread count the better and more comfy the sheet. Here in Southern California flannel sheets would be too warm but in South Dakota where I was raised they were so comfy in the cold winters.

thats pretty much what I think how they would be... in the summer having them be cold at first might not be so bad only here in Michigan it gets pretty cold at nights and I happen to prefer my flannel sheets!!

I love when I can get a good sale on some really nice sheets. I've had silk sheets before. Yeah, they look good on the bed but what a pain to sleep on. The sheets slide all over the place and usually go off the bed. Flannel sheets are nice and warm and cozy but I usually start to get too hot after laying on them for about ten minutes. My favorite sheets are just some nice 300 or 400 thread count cotton or sateen sheets. They are so comfortable and soft.

I grew up on the basic cotton sheets. Since it was what I was used to, that's all that I considered putting on my beds. I was never much for the silk or satin sheets. They seemed to slippery to deal with. About five years ago, my sister-in-law introduced me to the joys of flannel sheets. They are so warm for the winter months. I even keep them on my beds noq all year round!

I've tried flannel sheets before but they just make me too dang hot, our winters really aren't that cold and not for that long so I don't buy them

It really depends on what's going to be happening in the bed. I love flannel for those chilly nights. Silk is definately sexy and feels great on the bare skin so those are reserved for the Mr. and Mrs. "fun" nights. During the summer I like cotton, because the flannel are too hot.

I like good cotton sheets with as high a thread count as I can afford. Unfortunately that means I don't get the good ones then since no money!! If I lived in a place that got really cold (I mean with snow) then I would like the flannel sheets too but even when it gets cold here, Bakersfield California just does not get icy cold enough for me to use flannel sheets. I have never slept on silk or satin and I suspect I don't want to but since no money, I guess I won't be trying them out any time soon! LOL

I prefer good ole cotton or else a blend of cotton polyester, they last long and are comfortable in this arid desert region of mine.

I've never slept on silk or satin either. Just your standard sheet is fine otherwise I do prefer flannel especially here in winter; they don't feel as cold on your body like a cotton/poly would.

Those cotton/poly types are so refreshing in our hot arid summers.

i've only got good quality cotton sheets, all fitted as well. i can't stand flat cause it comes off during the night. i find the cotton ones go nicely an electric blanket, even thou it's not been to cold here at the moment.
i've not tried silk or satin sheets, even thou it would be nice to do so.

i like regular cotton sheets. flannel would be too hot for me and i cannot stand to be hot when i am trying to sleep. silk are just not for me and neither are satin. as long as they are clean and comfy that is all i need.

In the summer i like satin sheets as they are nice and cool on your skin.Where as in the winter i like the warm feeling on my skin of flannel sheets.I do find with the satin sheets that even though they are fitted sheets they still tend to slip off the bed.Happy Mylotting.

I never thought about them slipping off... but to have both and switch them off for the seasons is not a bad idea.
thanks for the response and have a great day!

Here in my country the weather is not as good as western ones.
So,most preferably, cotton bedding are more comfortable for hot weather, and flannel when it is cold during December months till January.
I never tried silk or satin, but,it is not advisable in my country not unless if the room is an air conditioned one, maybe,it is just nice.

Hey there brmom! I like satin sheets to lie on, and satin pillows to cry on.....
Oops, sorry, time warp there - LOL
Good old cotton sheets are my fave's. Flannel is just toooo warm for me, I like to be slightly cool whilst I am sleeping. Even in our coldest winter nights, I do like being too warm for sleeping.
Satin is horrible! First of all, I find them freezing cold and slippery. Then once they are warmed up, they are clammy and sticky, a most uncomfortable experience. I have never tried silk sheets, but I do have a couple of silk blouses. Once again, though, I find them overly warm and sticky once you have them on for a while.
Take care...

In the winter I prefer flannel. In the summer, even though I like satin sheets, it's better to use cotton because it breathes better. But when I do use satin sheets, I only use the fitted sheet, because the top sheet always seems to fall off.

I can not STAND silk sheets or satin either. I like flannel in the winter and cotton in the summer. I like my room cool in the winter and with flannel I can still stay warm in short gowns.
I have slept in silk clothes and been in silk sheets and it was not a pleasant experience. I think I slid around more that night than I ever have :)

I have used the satin sheets, and I found them extremely comfortable. The only problem was it is quite expensive. This particular piece was a gift from my mother in law, for my marriage anniversary, and after it got torn a few year back, I am yet to replace a satin sheet.
Usually we used to put some colorful cotton sheet on the bed .

I only use cotton sheets they are cool in summer and warm up quick in winter. They wash in hot water and smell so nice after they have been ironed,I do go to a lot of trouble as we spend a third of our lives in bed we might as well make it as nice as possible.

I also have never slept on silk/satin sheets either so I can not say are as sexy as people said. I use cotton sheets on my bed I have a water bed so the sheets are warm in the winter and when I turn the temperature down in the summer they are cool.
