So the Man fell at my Feet!

Yes he did! I was at the Post office as I had to send a registered letter by mail from my office. There were so many people there collecting letters and I was idly wondering if my friends on Mylo still used a post office now that bills can be paid electronically.
Well, in this country there is never a queue of people who remain silent and reserved, so it got interesting as people started to shout across to each other and exchange news. I realised yet again, that this is one of the most pleasurable things of my adopted country. No political correctness and people can get right in your face with their questions.
Then someone said that a tourist, actually, a 'half neckid foo foo white man' was out running and he looked like he was about to drop!
So we looked at this very sweaty, other side of 50 man, wearing only shorts (already his skin was burnt red) puffing along at 11.50 am and not even holding a bottle of water. Come on! It's the tropics! People put up umbrellas (called parasols) to block the sun)
So he dramatically fell at my feet and apologised. Without thinking I said, Please don't apologise, I've had men falling at my feet all of my life!
The crowd roared their approval and in no time, one lady who was selling wash rags, wiped him down, another lady who works in the post office got him a chair and yet another person produced water and told him to just takes sips. All the while he was receiving advice on the danger of too much sun and how to dress if he was so foo foo (foolish) to even want to run in the midday sun.
As I offered to take him back to his hotel, I was pushed to the front of the queue to register the letter. On the way back I told him that it was a no no to run without a shirt or peaked cap and to bring plenty of water. When we reached he asked if he could take me out to dinner tonight so I suppose he was suffering from a little sun stroke too!
So, what has happened to you so far today?

So, do you have sunstroke too! No I am not! Now, tell Dearra that I adore the Beatles. I CANNOT GET A CD OUT HERE AT ALL. I LOVE THEM! I will now have to check my emails from friends )(so behind) because it is Friday. And we all know that Dawn posts very hard posts on Fridays.

I didn't mean to leave anyone hanging but that is all everyone wants to know! No I turned him down. But I have felt good all day about it even thought he may have been delusional with sun stroke!!

No, I have never accepted a dinner invitation from a stranger before. I do go out to dinner but with old freinds. He may have wanted to have his wicked way with me and that would have been tragic! Let's hope that something will happen that is good for your today.

Wow cynthiann, you have more excitement during a trip to the post office than I have in a month. Haven't had a man fall at my feet for, uhm, well... never, actually. Who knows though, it could happen tomorrow. Of course, that would mean I would actually have to leave the house!

Yes, it can happen and yes, you would have to leave the house! I see that you are from Canada. I went on a cruise last month that begun tin Brooklyn and then went to Boston, Newport, Maine and then onto to Canada - St. John's and Nova Scotia. It is 6th first that I have been to your country and it was so amazing. I wish that I could have stayed and certainly could have lived there. So delightful and the people were so kind.

Nothing that interesting. Did you take him up on his offer and go out with him? Just interested in where you are from. You said something about being in the tropics.
I don't know what that man was thinking running in the midday sun on a tropical island without a hat or shirt. You also mentioned he was around 50 years old and not to mention he didn't even have water with him.
I think it was his plan all along. He must have spotted you earlier on in the day. He followed you around forgot about bringing any water with him. By the time you reached the post office he was all sweaty and his shirt was drenched, so he took it off. He made it look like he was running and suffering from a sun stroke just to fall at your feet and ask you out. Of course I could be wrong.

Of course you are right about the sun and being dressed properly and having water on a run or biking. This guy was old enough to know better.
Well did you accept his invitation to dinner? I don't know if I would have or not. Maybe...
Nothing so dramatic or even close has happened here today. lol

I totally understand that. I would feel the same way if I lost my husband as we have been together for 20 years. I feel as though we have been together all of my adult life, even though we have not. We were meant to be together and I wish that we were from the first time I got married. Aaah but alas we weren't. Unfortunately...but we did find each other.

No, not me! Despite being widowed for years, do not accept dinner dates unless of course, it is with old friends. I somehow feel that I am still married to him and always will be.

Great story!! That man truly was foo foo wasn't he? I'm not sure where he was from but even here in the states where it isn't nearly as hot as Jamacia, it is common sense to wear a sunblock or hat and carry water if you are out walking or running or just out in the sun. Most people regardless of where they live know how to protect themselves in the sun and the importance of carrying water if you are out jogging in any type of weather. Anyway, I have never been to your country but it sounds like a fun place. Maybe someday I will have the time and money to do some travelling.

I don't know which country he came from - he could only puff out the name of his hotel where he was staying.
Sometimes people come out and with the sun and everything they stupidly try to get fit and start running even though they probably did not run in their own country. Yep! Foo foo for true!
Thank you for your kind comments

It's funny my husband and I were just out today at the Post Office! lol! We went to our local one, but then went to the one in town because the one we usually go to was closed. Poor Man nearly passing out or did he? Hope he's okay now. I wonder why he was running out with it being so hot, tropics and all... though aren't the tropics supposed to also be cool too? or have i lost my mind? lol.
How are you?

I mean, I don't blame them for trying to get fit, but I think that even in cooler countries, people still run morning and night, not midday! lol! Yea, if your out of shape no matter the age, if you're running your going to need more hydration...

That's right. I mean it was so hot! No wonder the people called him foo foo because what he was doing was fooo foo.!

sometimes, people come on holiday and try to get fit in 10 or 14 days. Apart from being older and out of condition, it is the height of stupidity to run at midday. People only run very early in the morning or late at night. It gets cooler at night and coming up to Christmas it will get cooler still. If they run in the sun then that is asking for trouble!

Never a dull moment in your life, is there?
Not much for me today, just did some shopping. Really tired though and think maybe I'm not feeling 100%. I can already tell I'm in no mood to handle what the children will be throwing at me tonight!! Thank goodness hubby is out of work at 6 tonight!

No, I don't take vitamins.. they're pretty expensive, and I'm no good at remembering to take pills! I don't normally get sick all that easy, but it's been hitting me hard lately. I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight.

Can't you get qualified to get some under some health scheme? Probably not as you would have done so. It could be that you need iron. why don't you go to a pharmacy and ask the price of genetic vitamins that contain iron? They may sell them by the dozen so you could take for two weeks and see if there is an increase in your energy. Let me know as this could be the cause. I will pm you late today or tomorrow on this.

Hi cynthiann, deadly dull day here today but I only called in to say what a great story. We also have lots of the deathly foo foo tourists, shorts only, mid day sun, sweating like pigs over their red scorched skin. Have they not the slightest bit of sense at all.
So are you going out to dinner with the foo foo?

Welcome thea. Glad that you stopped by. so you have foo foo tourists in your country too? No, I did not go out to dinner with the foo foo! I didn't think it was appropriate to do so. tourists just tend to overdo tigs dpn' they. Thank ou for your flattering remarks.

That’s a pretty good story cynthiann! I can’t say I have ever had a man literally fall at my feet! I wanted to know whether you accepted his dinner invitation but I read back there that you didn’t; not your type perhaps? It’s a bit weird going out with someone you don’t know I guess. My day was quite dull and boring compared to yours!

I think that some people come out to the sun and try to get fit in a few days. The climate is hot and thy become dehydrated. Yep, they were very nice to him! Just could not understand why he would even consider running in the sun!
